Long story short they changed it and got it wrong, so they told me to call the store today and no one answers the phone. Worst customer service ever, not to mention most of the time I can't get a solid answer to my questions before buying something. I am giving them 2 stars so this review doesn't get ignored like most one stars do.

Surplus Center has good prices overall but sometimes there are surprises. Over the years I've…read morebought air-cooled engines, electrical parts, and lots of hydraulic parts, usually being satisfied with what I received. This changed recently with a large hydraulic cylinder to use with an excavator thumb, 2" pins, 3" cylinder shaft, and around 40" stroke so not cheap to buy or ship! Initially I was happy with it but it failed due to the cylinder rod being HOLLOW, thus far weaker than the 3" spec suggested, and NOT something included in the description as it was the wrong part for the job! When contacted, Surplus Center claimed they didn't know anything about the specs in the description as it was no longer offered and basically danced around the issue. I asked for a discount on another cylinder or a break on shipping but they declined to help me in any way, it was a great thanks for being a customer for twenty plus years. It's sad when you can't rely on published specs in a description of industrial parts on a long extant supplier but you can't with these guys. If you buy parts from them, you MUST burn both your own and their time asking EVERY conceivable question as the descriptions are not to be trusted!
