Carpetland - Got rid of carpet!

Carpetland

Beware Lincolnites! In a nutshell: CarpetLand had unacceptable customer service (post-installation)…read moreand very low quality control with wood floor installation. The owner is rude and will not work with you if you have problems with installation. We had an installer who did not use good judgement in installing our wood floor. More than a dozen planks he glued down (we do not have a subfloor) were visibly damaged and defective. I think 99% of people would discard these particular planks -- or at the very least, set them aside for a closet or other less visible area. The guy's response to our concerns: "That's just how it is." It is not like we ran the risk of not having enough wood... he either didn't pay attention to amount of wood available or simply didn't care about quality. We ended up with an entirely unopened box of leftover wood that clearly could have been used, but instead, the installer decided to permanently install damaged wood. After a long delay, 2 guys came back out to "fix" some of the problems. The putty just makes it look dirty and gross texture that will inevitably attract dirt and dog hair. Sigh... why!?? It is so disappointing to have saved up, waited for so long to have our "forever floor" put in -- and now have it be messed up. It was expensive -- and a lot of this turmoil could have been avoided with more common sense. To top it off, the owner was not responsive to phone calls --- and was super rude to my husband when he was finally was able to get a hold of him. I do NOT recommend CarpetLand. The poor quality control and disrespectful treatment is NOT worth the slightly lower bid they gave us we had compared to other local vendors.

Went to Carpetland and couldn't get waited on. I guess they don't need my business. Maybe they need…read morebetter sales people. NFM had no problem helping me.

After having a consultation, I chose to purchase windows from Home Depot and use their installation…read moreservices. What followed can only be described as a sham. The windows were paid for in full, amounting to over $6,000. I was told an installer would contact me to come measure and order the windows. I received a voice mail from the installer AFTER he had come to my residence and discovered no one home. Later that same day, I received a voice-mail from Home Depot advising me that the installer would be coming to my residence. I received no prior notification. After more than a week of trying to get an appointment scheduled for my needed measurements, I was finally able to get one set up. I took a full day off work because I was not given any kind of time frame. On the day of the appointment, I reached out to the installer by phone after waiting patiently. I spoke with him by phone and he advised he was only a couple minutes away. Following that, the installer never showed up. No follow up contact at all. The next day, after I made numerous calls to Home Depot to complain, I received a call from the consultant I met with early on. I was told that the installer could complete the job because I have aluminum siding. I do not have aluminum. It is vinyl. I can only imagine that the installer got into trouble for his complete lack of customer service, so cooked up this excuse to avoid completing the job. I have spent thousands of dollars at Home Depot over the years for my improvement projects. The total disregard I was shown through all of this has definitely left me questioning whether I will continue to be a customer.
