Hands down one of the best salumeria's in the Clifton area and possibly North Jersey. I grew up in Hudson county my whole life and just moved out west to Clifton. Delis like Vito's and Fiores in Hoboken, and De Palma Bros (RIP) in Fairview were some high caliber Italian eats, Il Posto gives them a run for their money. Michael, the owner keeps a very tidy space, everything is clean and organized, the cases display daily made seafood salad, arancini, pasta salad and some other staples. The cold cases contain imported Italian drinks, sodas and desserts. I've had just about every sandwich here, chicken cutlet, eggplant cutlet, Italian combo, hot roast beef, grilled chicken, and grilled eggplant. Was not disappointed in a single sandwich, honestly if you just picked something randomly from the menu, chances are it's delicious. Also, pro tip if they have meatloaf for sale, buy it. Served with sautéed spinach and mashed potatoes, it is hands down some of the best meatloaf I've ever had. I experience good customer service during my visit; an employee easily points me to a Vegan option on the menu, a Vegan Il Posto Signature Sandwich (7. Grilled Eggplant, Grilled Portobello Mushroom, Roasted Peppers, Artichokes & Arugula), and the employees are very friendly. The sandwich tastes wonderful ESPECIALLY due to the ingredients being on such good bread which absorbs the drippings (oil, vinegar, etc.) in such a non-messy-let-me-boost-the-good-flavor kind of way (does the bread have a mind of its own?). If I'm hungry in the area again, I'm glad to know I have a tasty Vegan sandwich near. I want to give this place a good review because I've been a customer so long. I used to suggest it to people a lot but it's to the point where the people I'm suggesting it to keep trying to go on their normal business hours and they are closed. Which it's true, they are randomly closed a lot. I think they also unplug their phone line when they're busy. Aside from all that, the prices are ridiculous now. I understand it's quality but how can you expect someone to pay a little over 30 dollars for two sandwiches???? And then on top of it, they had run out of bread right before so they sent someone to the store to pick up bread so my sandwiches were on tough Italian baguettes from shoprite. The first salad I had was great! I thought I finally found a spot near my home. Too bad that they are not consistent with how the make it or the ingredients that they put in it. The second one I ordered was awful they added red onions to it. In the description there is no mention of onions and different greens and no mushrooms. I called and let them know. Stopped by for the first time. It's Right next to a nice seafood pickup joint I like. Front desk lady recommended the hot meat loaf sandwich with mozzarella and brown gravy. I let her know I was gonna order it but she gave me a sample of roast beef and freshly made mozzarella anyways on a plate. Pretty much made it too easy for me to confirm after tasting that I was making the right decision. Plus I love free samples to taste. Sandwich was like 12 bucks but fully stacked. No skimping here. Meat was tender, cheese barely has a pull in texture and has the right amount of salt and dairy taste. The not too thick brown gravy just makes it just right. I ended up ordering a pound of fresh mozzarella sliced to go for a family get together later. I'm sure they will all ask where it was from after. Two nice guys running the joint too. This place is AHmazing!! The portions are HUGE and the quality is delicious! You don't have allot of choices in this area as far as catering small parties goes. But this place, I gave them a try, and they did not disappoint! And I am a very picky eater, but they blew me away. These are younger guys so they know food has to look good and taste good, not like some of the old school places that don't understand that. The chicken was made hot right from the grill, the tomatoes had that crunch u always look for. I found this great new place that makes homemade Italian foods. Everything is homemade. The homemade mozzarella is delicious!!!! My 10 year old son loved the seafood salad that was filled with homemade octopus, squid, and Shrimp!!! My Antipasto salad was so fresh and so so good!!!! This little Italian deli/eatery is a must try. It is located right next door to All Surf No Turf on Clifton Ave. directly across the street from the Board of Education. I say this because if you drive by too fast you will miss it. But slow down and give it a try. I originally went in to purchase sliced prosciutto. But left with a Turkey and Provolone sandwich ( 1/2 off the sandwich could feed 2!), fresh mozzarella salad, seafood salad, and of course my prosciutto!! They also serve hot food items (Those change by the day). Everything I purchased was delicious! I left with their regular menu and their catering menu ( Yes, they cater too!).
