I was working and I was Handed il palazzo's Menu. I was thinking it was another glatt kosher restuarant that had opened up But it wasnt. Wow i just realised i may be to bias on kosher food. It was proabably from a bad experience eating at a glatt kosher mexican restuarnt before. Because of limitations the food was retched. But then again i had a meal at Steakhouse on ave p and it was great. In my heart, food is about exploration not limitation and that maybe the cause of my hesitance.
But anyways back To il palazzo , I was amazed at its selection of Italian Dishes. from Chicken Picata, Lamb Chops With a Balsamic Reduction, bracciola di manzo, gnocchi napolitano, seabass livornese, frutta di mare and a slew of others. At this time Its to find a place that serves up these dishes in this area of brooklyn. While i was eating there i learned not only the food was great but why. The Chef told me he worked in the kitchens of little italy for over a decade and had gotten the experience and it shows. Had the frutta di mare. Great wasnt over cooked. Lnb spumoni has been over cooking their seafood and killing it. scallops i had there a few timeswere rubber. everything else at lnb i have no problem with. The prices are also unmatched and very reasonable atil palazzo. The Chef is of mexican descent and has mexican dishes on th menu as well as a breakfast menu.
Ambience strives to hard and kinda falls short. but its allabout the food. read more
