I had the bucatini with ham and a side of eggplant. My wife had the sea bass and salad. The sea bass in Italy don't have the sharp teeth like the ones in Florida. It was all very good. I'd like to go here again. I recommend. Very good service and a nice variety on the menu.

Found this place while looking for something close to our hotel with good reviews. We ordered the bruschetta, tagliolini colibri, and pappardelle alla molisana. The pasta was cooked well. The tagliolini was a little bland but everything was good overall. Also reasonably priced. The menu had english translation which was helpful. The staff was friendly and our server knew some English.

First night in Rome and we decided to check out this place, mainly because it's very close to our Airbnb. It already has good reviews on Yelp so we feel pretty comfortable to give it a try. They have outside sitting but we preferred inside which also very roomy. The owner came out and greeted us. Very friendly and welcoming. The menu has a variety of choices, we ordered carbonara, seafood pizza, mushroom pizza and tiramisu. Great portion and very delicious. Price is also very reasonable. Give this place a try if you are in the area. It's close to Vatican City too!

    Penne arrabbiata.

Located not far from Vatican City, Il Colibri is a small, family run establishment that serves up Italian classics. The atmosphere is intimate, with seating for about 30 or so people. Paintings, old documents, and celebrity customers adorn the walls. We stopped in for an early afternoon lunch as the only patrons. The restaurant quickly filled, mainly with locals (always a good sign in Rome). I ordered a green salad and the penne arrabbiata as a main. The salad was standard fare. The penne was cooked perfectly al dente, with the arrabbiata sauce having just the right amount of kick. I finished the meal off with an espresso and tiramisu. The dessert was probably once great, but had clearly been refrigerated too long. The prices however, are pretty reasonable for this area of the city. While the food is good, my main issue with the restaurant lies with the service. After being seated and placing our order, we were actually moved to another table in the back as more customers arrived because they 'needed the space'. When the bill arrived, we were charged for bread (never asked for nor charge explained), charged for a double bottle of still water, and on top of that charged a 10% service fee. I am begrudgingly starting to accept these kinds of absurd charges as part and parcel of not being a native language speaker, however that doesn't make me any happier about it. If you don't mind dealing with some of my hangups, stop on in and support a local, family Italian restaurant.

    Molto delicioso!!!

Wanted to get away from the touristy crowds near the Vatican and looked up recommendations online. This place was amazing! I went for lunch and the servers were so friendly and helpful. They ask which language you speak and do their best to communicate in your language. I ordered a pizza and it was delicious. House wine tastes fantastic. Creme brulee dessert was the best I've had. I'm so glad that I chose to come here.

Review # 1200 After…read moresome shopping on the Via cola Di Riemzo, we were ready for lunch. This spot was a Yelp find. We arrived just before they opened at 12:30. We asked for a table outside and the kind lady asked us if we had a reservation (oh oh). We didn't. No problem as we took our pick of one of the tables. Two levels inside with a small Bar in the back. Before we knew it, outside seating was full and inside also filled up-a good sign. We ordered a liter (ended up being too much but when in Rome...) of their house Red and enjoyed it. For starters, we ordered the Fried Artichokes (thick breading and will order the Roman style with garlic/vinegar next time), fried Zucchini and Suppli-Cacio Pepe. The Suppli was delicious and was enjoyed the most. For main, it was Pasta Carbonara (Guanciale )-Proper carbonara and the streak of not having a bad version of this dish in Rome continues. The sliced Beef with mushrooms was also delicious -super tender and thin pieces of beef (medium rare as requested). We asked if the Tiramisu was house-made. Our server answered, "yes, and I am the one who makes it." How could we not order after that?! One of the best Tiramisus we've had. Perfect balance of coffee dipped lady fingers with cream-delicious! Our Server was kind, attentive and full of hustle -she was covering a lot of ground. Don't miss this Gem if you are in the Prati district.

We shared the fried calamari and anchovy appetizer, which tasted fresh. I had the lasagna and it was excellent. My wife got the ravioli and really liked it she said it was a unique and tasty dish. For dessert we shared the Crème Catalana. The server brought it out and torched the sugar right at the table, which was fun to watch and tasted perfect. Great food and genuinely exceptional service. Would definitely return.

This shop is more of a countertop order from their limited menu but the menu is executed so well you'll be tempted to order multiple bowls. There are a few stools and table out front to enjoy your food hot. Both times I've been on separate visits within two years, has only shown me how consistent their food and quality is. You can pair your dishes with an aperol spritz or mini bottle of wine for less than five euros. The pasta was about nine to eleven euros and the portions were more than plenty. The chef and owner are super nice and very informative about their dishes. If you are a fan of spice you have to try their chef-recommended dish. They had one dish topped with pancetta and I just about wanted to lick my bowl clean. Everyone in the group was raving how delicious it was. Egg will forever be on my must-have when visiting Rome.
