This store is huge! You can find anything and everything for a home or apartment. It was fun wandering around the showroom looking at all the items and checking out the fully stocked rooms. Prices are good although everything comes in boxes for you to assemble. We had no problems finding staff to answer questions or help with heavy items. My son picked out a three piece sofa/bed unit, an electric desk that can be raised and lowered by pressing a button and various lights and deco for his room. Lastly, we got a tray of cinnamon rolls to take home and they were awesome. The only complaint I have is their return process. I needed to return a small item I had bought at Ikea in Houston. I picked a number and it took 35 minutes waiting to return my item! There were three employees and an actual "waiting" area for returns. Seems like this process needs simplified. read more

I placed a large online order. They didn't ship two items I ordered and instead shipped two other items I didn't order and don't want. I tried calling customer service but they aren't taking calls and the only email they accept is for order cancellations. The store won't help with online orders. Great customer service! I bought a set of nightstands in January. They sat in my bedroom for about 2 months before I even opened them for assembly, at which point I realized one was missing the pack of screws/bolts/whatever was needed. I had not been back to IKEA since then. I just went this past weekend to pick up some stuff and I stopped by the Returns desk. I explained my situation, and the girl working was so nice and helpful! She put together a new set of everything needed for my nightstand and printed the directions again for me just in case they were missing as well. One of the screws that I needed was out of stock in their store, so she ordered it online and had it shipped to my apt for free! Most of their furniture may not be pieces I would say I'm investing in to keep for the long haul. I know it might not last forever, but I've never bought anything I felt was flat out bad quality. read more

This Ikea is the worst in the United States. Absolutely the worst customer service I've ever experienced. Every employee walks around this store like they are snails. From the return experience of not telling you which door to go into, to a 70 minute wait at the return desk, to the associate telling a lady in front of me that he couldn't help someone find something, if they didn't want to "pay" for that service. I've always wanted to buy from IKEA, so when I got a new house, I went there first thing for all of my home and furnishing needs. The couch I bought from them was a selectional, made of three pieces (ottoman, love seat, chaise). Upon opening one of them, one of the springs was already broken. Tried calling the store but kept getting routed to Baltimore, and found out that apparently customers cannot contact the store by phone, and Baltimore really doesn't know anything about how the local stores handle things and could not tell us if we should bring the broken part to the store for an exchange or the whole thing. Just to be safe, I brought the whole thing, after begging for a way to get it there with a friend. Well, we got there, it's out of stock. No problem, let's do an exchange. I had to return the entire piece so that a new exchange order is placed. It should arrive in two weeks. A week later, I've decided, well, all this hassle just isn't worth the wait, so I went to IKEA (which is far enough to make me feel some ache with the gas prices) and told them to go ahead and just cancel that exchange order. Well, they charged me 30% restocking fee, told me that it's been shipped from their distribution center. That night, I got an email from the coorporate office telling me that they could not ship that item to begin with since it's been unavailable, and its available day is "unknown." So the store lied to get me to pay the 30% restocking fee. Ridiculous policy. I never even used my couch! I paid 30% for something I never could use. (More than $300.) Don't go to IKEA if you can help it. Their items are CHEAP despite the contemporary looking designs. Sure, your room will look nice for a couple of months... and then it'll all go down hill from there unless you don't really use your furniture much. Well, unless you buy something super expensive from them. But if that's what you're going to do, I'd recommend buy from another place, because more innovative style furnitures are all over the place, and they're not cheap spin offs. Their staff were nice... I feel sorry for them. They could not do anything with their company's stupid policy. Oh, I say it's pricey because they are not durable. If you want something that lasts a while, pay a little more elsewhere. Or, keep buying furniture from them but you'll have to keep doing it... literally. Please don't buy from them! Since IKEA opened years ago in Frisco, I've vehemently rejected this store. I adored the catalog originally, but the store itself seemed like an awful flea market or a cheap goods bazaar. The lines were outrageous and the whole thing felt like a sham. I purchased a set of glasses there that seemed to affirm my suspicions when the entire base separated from the glass at the point where the spoon was stirring my tea. Boy, was that a surprise when I picked it up to drink out of it. So, I recently decided to give them another chance when I had a furniture hack in mind. I went to this location a couple of months ago to get wall and book shelves for my project. I was extremely concerned about the lines because in my shortsightedness I chose to make this trip midday Saturday. Although the store itself was crowded and infested with children, to my surprise I didn't wait in a checkout line at all. They had more than enough registers open, and they also utilized all available self-checkout (which is what I used). Even more impressive was the dude who helps load the cars. I almost paid for home delivery ($60) because I wasn't too sure about fitting all that stuff in my average sized sedan. I'm normally quite confident about being able to put anything in my car, but I'd gone to IKEA with a car full of the spoils from an earlier shopping trip that day. The loading guy was amazing. He didn't critique my decision to buy all that stuff with a car that was already full, and he seemed to have faith that we could do it. I was rooting for him and betting on Buster ended up paying off, because I didn't have to do the whole $60 delivery thing and it only took him a few minutes. His attitude and help is a huge reason I left there feeling so good. Now, since two months have past, I can share my thoughts on the quality. Definitely cheap. The table I made was great, but that cheap particle board makes me a little nervous. When you drill directly into it, it's very crumbly inside. It's certainly not something I'd want to disassemble and move with. I don't regret the purchase, but in the future I'll only buy things that I wouldn't have to dissemble when I move. Still, even with the quality issue, I'd definitely go there and purchase furniture again. read more

This rating is based solely on the quality of my experience at THIS IKEA. In general I'm a huge fan of the chain. Smaland was GREAT! I only had to wait about 15 minutes before they had an opening for my two children. They were well entertained for an hour. The rest of the store desperately needed to be restocked. They were out of sheets, two different styles of dressers, various kitchen items, and the one special toy I wanted. Even worse, the cafe was out of 1/2 the usual food choices and apparently also 1/2 their employees. And what IKEA doesn't have lingonberry soda???? This one. The lines were longer than I expected, but that could have been remedied by opening more than 3 registers. Pros? I was able to find knowledgeable employees that were able to help me locate items I was searching for both times I needed them! Also, an employee popped up out of nowhere just in time to help load a mattress support onto the roof of my vehicle! Hooray! Additional Con? The layout of the store is more insane than usual. You can't get to/from the cafe without walking through half the store. If I'm ever forced to go back to this IKEA and need to eat, I'll try the bistro. read more

Let me start by saying I like IKEA for what it is... so this review is about this particular location. Went in to get two malm dresser chests and a Hemnes tv stand. After a while of choosing the color and types we went to the self pickup area to get our items. Well, guess what... they were out of stock. OF EVERYTHING! 6 drawer malm, nope. 4 drawer malm, nope. 2 drawer Hemnes, again nope. Why is everything out of stock? More importantly why can they not tell you on the signs upstairs that it's out of stock. So now after wasting our time I asked the guy downstairs if they could deliver these items once they had them in stock (supposedly tomorrow). Again, nope. We can't pre-order anything. Well how about ordering online and waiving the $100 shipping cost for our inconvenience. You guessed it... NOPE. See a pattern here? Now comes the best part... after all the "no's" they had the audacity to ask us to quickly leave the store because it was now closing time. It was 7:05 and we would have been out of there a lot sooner if we had known things were out of stock or if they had compromised with us to satisfy a disappointed customer. Yeeeeeah... After spending well over $300 on an ikea trip we proceeded to make our obligatory final stop at the bistro, having looked forward to 75 cent veggie dogs the entire trip. The worker at the counter was first of all, the most incompetent, unorganized, and overall under qualified individual, which is frankly shocking for such a low demand job. She proceeded to ask if it was okay if another customer cut us, make ten veggie dogs in front of us, burn a pizza, and make us wait 15 minutes at minimum before finally letting us know that there were no more left for another 10 minutes after waiting the 15 initially. For vegetarians out there ...they do offer veggie options in their cafe, like vegetarian meatballs. That is another plus, because it does seem to take awhile to get through the store...there is a lot to see and think about...hmmm...I will I use that. It's the first, and only, furniture store I've been excited about. Everyone knows the quality isn't great, but it's perfectly fine. It's fun, colorful, inexpensive and portable. As long as you can follow assembly instructions, in handy picture form, you'll be fine. They have a great showroom for inspiration and warehouse for merchandise. There's a cafeteria halfway through and a snack bar at the exit. The fries are really crispy. The meatballs are nice, but fresher in other locations. Check out the discount and damaged area by checkout. I got the best foam mattress 50% off. (This is a self serve place. Don't complain about customer service. It's cheap and not at all pushy, Thank God!!) Be careful, it's easy to spend here. read more

I'd give it 5 stars because I love, love, love the store. So many displays to spur a lot of ideas. We found one bedroom set that we immediately fell in love with. Can't afford the whole set (and probably will need to go back to the store to get the exact numbers for those in a display). lol.... Both times we have gone, we thoroughly enjoyed the food and the opportunity rest midstream wiggling the way throughout the store. It is designed that you can't just run in and run out, although getting aware of the short cuts in the store can certainly help you get through the store. If handicapped, you can't ride a scooter/lark. They die half way through the store; therefore the store doesn't offer them. They offer a wheelchair and you have to leave your license behind to get one. It's not electric, so if you don't have a big husky person to push you or your arms are weak, you are up a creek insofar as mobility throughout the store. I ended up pushing a cart with those funny yellow bags hanging on it in front of me. It was a challenge to do so around the corners. It would probably behoove them to add carts to the wheelchairs so that folks in a wheelchair could put their items of interest and purse etc in it. Just remember to take your own scooter/lark, if you have one! :)) We bought a bed and a set of sheets and comforter to go on the new bed. When seeing the store clerk in the mattress section, we asked her about the free mattress pickup when they deliver that was offered on a sign near their computer stands/kiosks. She said that we would have to become an IKEA Family Member to get that (no charge, so no problem). She printed out a form to take to the delivery desk after we pick our products out so that they could pull the mattress (they won't let you pick those because they are so big). Delivery was $59 to our zip code from the Round Rock to our home (but that did include no matter how many items we purchased when we bought it at the store). When at the Home Delivery desk they swore that they needed no more information and George mentioned to them several times while at the home delivery desk. If you wish to have it delivered the same day, you have to place the order with home delivery before 2p. We opted for a next day delivery in the evening and were pleasantly surprised that they called us early for an earlier delivery. They were swift and professional delivering. They didn't take away the old mattress; that became a slight ordeal because home delivery didn't put it on there (even though they asked for my IKEA Family Member #. But they righted it after a little bit of haggling to get to the right person. They came back and picked up the old mattresses. We're much happier now. :) Price ranges from $.50 to $999, maybe slightly more on some of the larger furniture items. Something for everyone. Just when you go, please plan to spend 2-4 hours in there. Very easy to do. I think we were in there no less than 3 hours each time! :) Oh, btw, another pleasant surprise we had was to discover that the bed is not only a Kingsized bed, it's a California King bed. Now, I hope that the kingsized sheets and comforter are also designed for the California King bed.... otherwise my man will have his feet sticking way below the covers! lol.... ****************** Okay, now they have dropped a few points. Unpacked the headboard and he took that to the bedroom. Got the footboard out and it is cracked in two places on the top of the footboard. One is nearly 4-5 inches long on one end with a good size gap; the other is about 3-4 inches long with a noticeable gap. Called because we have 48 hrs to put in a complaint. All they did was give us a Case number, telling us that someone will call us in 72 hours. What? That seems shady because then it'll be past the 48 hrs of deliver if it is that long to call us back. In the meantime, they have taken away our old mattresses and our old queensize frame/headboard is gone. We can sleep on the kingsize mattress on the floor, but I have disability issues with getting up and down from the ground. Ughghghgh.... and I was overall impressed with them to this point in time. I'd post the pictures of the cracks, but I don't see how to do that at this point in time. :( **************** Today we called again and talked to Kristin. She apologized for what we had experienced last night and told us that shouldn't have happened at all and that they pride themselves on their customer service. She wrote up everything that happened in the case record and told us all that we needed to do was take the footboard to the store and they would exchange it. The footboard was 7 foot long and was a struggle to get in the back (even with the middle seat removed) of my Mitsubishi Montero ("Peppermint Patty"). IKEA has great looking furniture at affordable prices, but my frustration with this store is at the customer service department. I purchased several pieces of furniture and assembled most of the stuff with ease. However, two of the bookcases were missing several screws and lug nuts that were required to complete the assembly. I was thinking about returning the bookcases to IKEA and exchanging them for some new ones, but that would mean dismantling all the parts, and having to repackage all the parts into the box again. I called the main store and was assured it would not be a problem. I went on a Saturday and the customer service area was like a zoo. They know it's busy on Saturday, why not staff up a little bit? I waited about 40 minutes in the customer return department before I was able speak to someone. I told the customer service rep what I needed, however, she continued to ask me irrelevant questions, as if she didn't believe that I actually needed these parts. ("Where is your receipt? Are you sure you didn't throw the parts away? blah blah blah) After about 15 minutes of going back and forth, I was finally able to talk to a supervisor who gave me what I needed. So I would give IKEA 3 1/2 stars for their stylish and affordable furniture but a 1 star for their horrible customer service. For IKEA CORPORATE Adding to my IKEA review from earlier, my items were stuck in a distribution center for a month. Evidently when you order from ikea they send it wherever they please without consulting the shipping company. The shipping consultant told me they have boxes and boxes of ikea orders that they can't deliver because they don't have the drivers. So ikea sends it and doesn't give a crap where it ends up or when it's delivered. So, I paid a private moving company $600 to drive from Auburn Alabama to Atlanta so my daughter could have her furniture before August 1. Then I get an email from ikea that my furniture was delivered and please rate your delivery. SUCH CRAP!!!! After several emails through out this process I get an emsil after delivery from a customer service agent named Don. More crap! " sorry you had a delivery issue but since it was delivered we consider that matter resolved". More crap! They attach an email address to contact that isn't even a working email. I used to shop at IKEA all the time when I lived overseas. Not so much for furniture but decor. This was my first visit in 6 years and it seems a lot different. First, the restaurant was closed for construction which was very annoying. My daughter stayed at Smaland for an hour and she had a good time, but when I went to pick her up, the attendant was holding a friend's baby and chatting. It wasn't until the dad pointed out that I was waiting (the woman had stared right at me, she knew I was waiting) that she handed the baby back and asked if I was there to pick up my child. Um, yes, why else would I be standing there? As for merchandise, there seems to be a greater focus on home design now. There was less decor than I remember and it's a lot less kitschy now. Lots of black and white. So I didn't find much to buy. Waited in line for 20 minutes- only about 6 registers open. Ikea Round Rock - much less busier than the Ikea SF bay area locations I am used to. Having said this you would expect the experience to be much better as there are almost no crowds (relative to what one is used to) and a lot of parking available. You can take your time walking around the store and meticulously check out items. However, when you need help, employees are no where to be found and if you find them, they will answer your questions but do not take any initiative to help you out. They are usually in their station and do not move out of it. Food court- even on non-busy times on weekdays, the cutlery, tables, chairs, trays are dirty. Even without crowds, the workers are not smiling, are very slow moving and seem really lazy. No one seems to want to work here. At one visit, on a weekday at around 3 pm, the checkout lines were so long and there were only 3 lanes open. Again, where are the employees? The worst of my Ikea experience is when I had to order for delivery. Like mentioned in other posts, Ikea Round Rock uses North American Logisitcs company - the worst ever! Communication is almost non-existent and they do not deliver on time as agreed. They make tons of excuses from - they do not deliver on weekends (even though Ikea says they do), the truck broke down or is having mechanical issues, you need to call and reschedule 48 hours out before they would re-deliver. You would think if they did not deliver on time the first time, it is automatic that they deliver at the first available schedule. I waited and waited and it never came. Completely incompetent! Ikea customer service center is even worse- the reps are rude and they do nothing to help you with your issues. When they themselves are unable to reach the logistics company, they want you waste your time following up with the logistics company due to no one ever picking up the phone lines and "long wait times". I purchase my products through Ikea, why do I have to deal with the issues of the logistics company? When you ask to speak to a manager, Ikea reps will pretend to transfer you then cut the line. Trying to contact customer service online is a complete waste of time too. Yes, that is the service you will get. So after several days of waiting for my undelivered products and almost a month since I put in the order, I decided to dispute the transaction with my credit card company and bought products elsewhere. So, only visit Ikea, if you know what you are buying, will not need any customer service assistance, you will haul your own stuff, and are willing to deal with shitty service to save some money. It is sad because I actually like Ikea but the experience is making me go elsewhere. read more

I like Ikea furniture, I think Ikea provides good value for the money. But I don't like this store. We've been wanting a new bookshelf, and considering the pandemic, I wanted to do store pickup, "click and collect" as Ikea calls it. No matter how often I tried, it would always say "Click & Collect is temporarily unavailable at this store due to increased demand." Yesterday, I finally caved in and drove to the store. I got the Ikea app and knew exactly where to pick up the shelf in the "self-serve" warehouse section of the store, but it had to wind my way through the store forever even though I asked an employee for directions and followed "shortcuts". Not only did I have to walk forever, there were many people in the store not wearing masks! I was so disgusted! They need to make it easier to get in and out of the store quickly, and properly enforce mask wearing. Overall a terrible shopping experience. read more

Went to this IKEA for the first time yesterday. I already know IKEA from living in Europe. So I knew what is expecting me! I really enjoyed my day here, you can find so much good and reasonable priced items here. This time I concentrated on bedsheets, pillows etc. I definitely love their products, you find a lot of 100% cotton products ( like bedsheets) , what can be difficult at target & co. I personally just prefer that. Of course it's a long walk, but as soon as you know what to expect, you can just prepare yourself for it. And about halfway there is this little IKEA restaurant. Where I also stopped and had my Swedish meatballs. It's just nice to have a possibility to rest for some minutes before going ahead with the rest of the store ! All in all, it was a good experience and also important to mention, right at the entrance of the store was an employee standing who was there to help out customers. Also throughout the store I have seen a lot of them. So there was always somebody available in case you would have questions! I will definitely come back! IKEA sells reasonable quality furniture but if they make a mistake and a piece is missing, they won't help you. I purchased a sliding shelf from the Round Rock IKEA and when I went to assemble it, it was missing a key piece. I tried calling IKEA and after waiting on hold for 20 minutes (my choice), the person on the other end hung up on me when I told him what I needed. When I called back, they told me I had to go back to the store to see if they could replace the missing piece. When I asked them to mail me the piece to save me 3 hours of hassle (after already spending nearly an hour trying to get someone on the phone), they told me my only option was to go to the store. When I asked for the store's number to make sure they had the piece available before I drove there, they told me the store has no public number. This place is ok. Too much walking and usually you don't end up buying anything. And when you do it sucks because most of the furniture you get is in a box and they make you put it together.
