What happened to the quality?? Ikea was also known for furniture that is cheap, but functional, and generally I've found it lasts a while. The quality use to really balance between to cheap and just enough. Now it's just cheap. Recently purchased two show shelves and the alignment of the panels is horrible, brackets made of flimsy plastic, and no drywall mounts included. We also picked up another basket table because we broke the old one on accident (totally our fault) and when I compared the new one to the old, it was obvious the materials were much cheaper. Cheaper wood, cheaper thinner paint, and horrible qc/cut to the top. Sad that I can't shop here anymore. read more

If I could give this awful place negative stars I would because they deserve it. Do not buy from IKEA unless you want to be hung up on by SEVERAL customer service representatives AND supervisor! All I wanted was to change my pick up date from a Thursday to a Friday and OMG literally was given AWFUL service!! The First Lady I talked to was not bad, but she told me that IKEA doesn't allow pick ups on Friday so she couldn't change it but LITERALLY on their website it says you can pick up Saturday through Sunday??? So I asked her to transfer me to the store and of course as soon as I got through the person literally picked the phone up and hung up!!! Like what the heck. I kept my cool though and called back. WELL. This girl was not very nice. She told me that it's "my loss" and I have to either pick it up today or their cancelling my order. I went into the IKEA in Renton, WA yesterday to address a warranty issue with a mattress I purchased 3 years ago. The mattress was at the very high end of the products they offered and came with a 25-year warranty. I registered (as required) to stand in line for a customer service representative. My wait time was roughly 45 minutes before I saw an agent. She was helpful, seemed to understand the issue (I had detailed photos of the issue with the mattress and the original receipt.) The agent I consulted with agreed with my request and scheduled a home delivery to remove the existing mattress and deliver a new replacement. They scheduled the delivery / pickup for 1-5 PM today and told me that I would get phone call to confirm from the delivery company. No phone call came in so I checked back with IKEA Customer Service, after being transferred to a different "desk" an agent worked with me, put me on hold several times to consult with the local store and the logistics firm that should be handling the delivery. Long story short, the store hadn't completed the process and had lost some necessary information that I provided during my store visit. (Photos of the issue and a copy of the original purchase receipt). I emailed the photos of the defect along with a PDF copy of the original receipt to the customer service agent that I was on the phone with. She put me on hold again, talked with the store and everything was supposed to rescheduled for delivery tomorrow (Tuesday). A few minutes ago I got an automated call from the logistics company that handles the deliveries informing me that they would be here between 5:00 and 9:00 PM today. Now I don't believe anyone at IKEA and between waiting in line at the store and phone/hold time today I have invested almost 3 hours in this process with no evidence of success yet. read more

This place is something else. They sell you an armoire with a hanging bar and a pullout missing. They will not call you when one is there. I was extremely frustrated with the process and complete lack of customer service. I went through the check out process. The billing and delivery address were different. Upon reviewing my email of confirmation stating I needed to be home from 9-9 that day, I see the system mixed up the delivery address with billing address. It mixed the address line of the billing with the city and zip of the delivery. I immediately called ikea. I could NOT get ANYONE to answer the phone. I tried every phone option, everyday! For 2 weeks!!! No one would answer the phone. The automated line would just repeatedly say due to call volume no one can take the call and hang up the line. THe email option was a 5-7 day minimum for returns only- so no help there either. I Couldn't drive up all the way to a store- so 2 weeks pass. I get yet again an Automated call to confirm my delivery. NO address was on there to verify. Just to verify the date and they gave an updated time frame 11-3. I choose an option to speak with the logistics customer service per the options on the calls- it then transfers me to Ikeas automated line where again No one answers and I get hung up on- So I knew that they have the wrong address and would be delivering between 11-3. I figure when they can't find the address they would call and I can correct it finally. NOPE. 8:15am I get another automated call that they were 5-30 mins away from "my address" . So a little less then 3 hours earlier then the delivery time frame I was told. And before the original 9-9 time frame. The line hangs up and Gives no options for customer service even. Since the billing address was my parents address I told them just in case to keep an eye out for a delivery truck. Sure enough they showed up and the billing address of the order. NOT once reaching out to clarify. My elderly parents now had 3 large heavy box's dropped at their house and when my dad said you were supposed to deliver these to a different address he got ZERO response . I will most likely NEVER order again for delivery. This is by far the worst customer service or COMPLETE LACK OF SERVICE that I have experienced. Blaming Covid is a a huge excuse! People are wanting jobs- can work from home and I have seen the store absolutely busy and there are people needing jobs so an excuse they don't have people to answer and solve issues is ridiculous. I give 1 star for this extremely frustrating experience- I normally love walking the display set ups and marketplace but this was too stressful to consider going back for a long while. read more

First of all, I absolutely love shopping at Ikea. I love going through the models and seeing everything set up. The furniture and decor items are super awesome especially during the holiday. I frequent the cafe often and have never had a problem. I love the Swedish meatballs the best. The reason for 3 stars is the lack of check out personnel. She carefully went through my layout and made corrections as well as very helpful suggestions. Betty eased all my worries about the process and I am very grateful to have had her assistance for this purchase. This one star is not for IKEA products but for their delivery service... So I made 3 different delivery orders and none of them came on the date I scheduled. I don't know what's the point of scheduling delivery date, if they never going to deliver it on the appointed day. And they will never call you or email you to notice you about anything. So I waited couple days (waiting time on their customer service line was approximately 140mins) and I spoke one of their representative and she told me my delivery was delayed and I need to reschedule it. So basically I wasted my entire day to get my shipment and they didn't even bother to let me know that my shipment is not only delayed but also you have to reschedule. Why they do this to me?... I'm so tired and sick of this process and delay. If it happened once I won't even bother to leave this one star review, but 3 times? And they even delayed rescheduled order too. So 4 times? Do you love waiting in line at the DMV? Do you have hours of free time to waste? Then you'll love shopping at the new and improved Ikea. Worst shopping experience you can imagine. Crowded, shopping carts still have four pivoting wheels and want to wander into everything in the store, and the best part is after you make your purchase you have to sit around for 30 minutes to an hour while they go find your piece of furniture. No kidding. You think you just bought that new bathroom vanity... no lol. You wait around for an hour... seriously. Get your act together Ikea. Hope you never have to return anything. Have tried multiple times to make a return. Stood in line for the 3rd time for 25 minutes without moving. There are 30 plus people in line for return. Saw at least 15 people leave out of complete disgust. 26 staff members checking out only 3 people working the return area. Finally got to a manager and while very understanding pretty much lip service. Saws IKEA technology is limited and not many staff are trained for returns. I have never seen a business treat customers so badly. Ordered shelved 10/6/20 got half the order a week or so later. Its been almost 2.5 months now and no other half of order has come. They tell me now that it was delivered. It wasnt. The problem is you cannot communicate with them. They only allow emails if you're cancelling orders. No phone calls or voice mails allowed either, they just hang up after telling you they are too busy to take your call. So they have our money no for 2 and a half months and wont give it back to us. Unbelievable! My advice is steer clear of this outfit. The absolute worst customer service (none really) that I have ever seen. came here to shop for furniture; the store selection is a typical IKEA, though for some reason this one felt really large compared to others I've been to. overall the lines were extremely long wherever you went. the food court was good and reasonably priced, though for a 45-minute wait I wasn't very impressed. we opted to setup a delivery, and after the store clerk entered everything on our list, I figured it'd be good to double check. . . about 1/3 of the items were entered incorrectly, whether it was the wrong size or color, or just the tabletop without legs (even though the item ID was the package). wasn't very happy with that so definitely double check your orders and item receipts. the checkout line was also extremely long, despite the number of registers. . many were closed. the staff was generally very friendly and helpful, but the store overall seemed extremely understaffed and it was not a very great shopping experience read more

This is a huge warehouse type store that's set up like a maze inside and has practically everything you need for the home. I advise coming here when it first opens or an hour before closing time otherwise trying to find parking can be hell and once inside you'll feel like a test lab rat walking aimlessly around the store amongst other lost lab rats. During the less busy times, it is so much more relaxing to leisurely peruse the store. I usually come here for odds and ends decor items such as vases, indoor plants, pots, varying kitchen items, wall hooks, etc. Their decorative mirrors are a good price compared to other places. I try to quickly breeze through the candle section or avoid it altogether as all the chemically-laden artificial scents are a killer for me. Too bad because they do have some cute items in that section. Another bit of advice, if you know what you want, look online to see if they have the items in stock. Online will also tell you what aisle and section the item is located in. I have never eaten here so I can't comment on any of the food. For some reason I have never been tempted as there are so many other delicious choices nearby. read more

This is the only IKEA in the area so you don't really have an option to go somewhere else. But still, I've had to make three trips here in the past six months because of poor order handling. The first visit was to ask that they reship a couch that never showed up. (Had to go visit them physically because I was on hold on the phone for a solid hour.) Then had to go back two more times to return defective products. The space itself is incredibly frustrating if all you're trying to do is grab one thing without having to go through the entire warehouse. There are only escalators going up at the front entrance. The only way to go down from the same spot was to take the single elevator that was out of service the last three times I went. read more

I love modern furniture and until I become wealthy enough to afford REAL stuff like $3500 sofas and $900 bed frames, IKEA is the place for me. They have higher end products as well..just take a peek at the prices. There's cheap stuff and expensive stuff. Just make sure you plan a WHOLE day to go there. Especially if I'm in tow. I want to look at every effing thing! It's a great place for bachelors and people who don't know much about mixing and matching furniture. I don't remember my first experience with an IKEA nor do I remember my first experience with a Snake, that said I know the good lord created me and the majority of mankind with a healthy fear and hatred of both. All that blathering on, I continue to find myself at IKEA's for no good reason I am in fact a Massive tool and lack the time or energy to seek out other alternatives and sometimes you just need to go for the guaranteed mediocrity that you're used to... Most recently, I needed a new bed frame as my career has taken me back to Seattle and I decided to bite the bullet and drive down to RENTON. I knew exactly the bed I wanted, A King Malm Dark Wood and decided this time to bypass the maze and enter directly from the exit area--this proved to be a huge time savor as I was able to relatively quickly find the stack of boxes that myself and other tools who shop at IKEA load into our cars like Fu(%tard Ants and shell over our hard earned money for a couple of boxes of balsa wood satirized in such films as Fight Club and American Beauty... Uable to avoid the spending trap completely, I bought two bags of swedish fish, a 1 dollar extra long shoe horn and an ice cream cone to make me feel a little less incomplete. :) I am happy with the additional $5 I spent on those impulse buys (buying makes tooltards like me who spend money at ikea feel successful/happy/authentic). I also shelled out around 300 bucks for the boxes of balsa wood that promise to bring a "put together" feel to my bedroom. Please pray for me that I don't have to return anytime soon! College days they were there with basic needs at a good price, newly married they provided items needed for starting out. This visit was my first time with my 3 small children. The front greeters were great as was the cashier. In fact those were the only positive i had the whole 3 hours i was here. The negativity started when i got to the play area and they were closed 45 minutes earlier then the advertised time. I asked the blonde women working there if i could just let my kids come in for one min so they could jump into the ball pit because i had promised that. She said absolutely not. I inquired again explaining it would literally be one min (remember they are still technically open for another 45 min per the advertised sign). She said no. And honestly the no isn't what was so awful it was her complete attitude. I realized dang i wouldn't leave my sweet children here with you even if you were open. The store was a mess as we walked through. The few attendants that worked there were busy talking with one another and we were not spoken to again until we checked out. Who would've thought a furniture store could be a tourist trap?! This ikea is a wee bit dingier than the one in my home town (Minnesota, next to the mall of America) but offers the exact products and "entertainment". In terms of "you get what you pay for", ikea has cute and affordable modern collections a step up from target or Walmart. The food is edible, fresh most of the time, and very inexpensive. The menu at the cafeteria varies and has specials throughout the week. *And like always, kiddies, if you plan to visit on a weekend or weekday evening, bring your patients... I had such a positive amazing experience in customer service today. We just moved from Oregon to Washington and our movers had lost the hardware to reassemble my daughter ikea bed. Today I went to customer service and Frans made the experience so great that I just had to share online. He found every single screw, bolt, wooden peg, nut, Allen wrench etc that I needed to reassemble her bed. He worked so efficiently and fast. Also my daughters bed is old and they no longer make that bed so he had to look in all the special back cabinets just to make sure I had everything. Yay 300! Well, duh, who doesn't love Ikea, and what 20-somethings' apartment isn't filled with Ikea furniture. Despite my fear of the parking lot and the store on the weekends, I can spend the better part of a day here. As soon as I know I have a reason to go to Ikea, I get excited thinking about the swedish meatballs. Prefer to get to the restaurant first, get my meatball on so I can enjoy my shopping experience afterwards. We also always end up bringing some frozen meatballs, and maybe some of that mashed potatoes too, home with us. There are the different types of Ikea visits. My favorite is the "I've got something I'm looking for but it's a weekday and I've got time to hang out and browse the store" visit, even though that's generally not my wallet's favorite visit. My least fav is the "it's a Saturday, you wanna get in and out as fast as possible but you've still gotta traverse the whole store and then get in line for home delivery." The last time the hubby and I went I was super impressed because we walked out with exactly the stuff we had planned to buy, and that was the first time that has ever happened. It's a great store well laid out to see examples of their furniture in use. But the store is literally a maze with shortcuts although I don't think there is an easy way through. I went to IKEA today to buy a nightstand. I bought a basic black two drawer dresser/nightstand. My sister has two of these so I already knew I liked the product. As I was putting the product together, I noticed a scratch on the surface of the top piece and It had been painted with black paint to try and blend it in. This is completely unacceptable as they are selling a damaged product for full price. I will be calling them tomorrow to see what they can do for me. read more
