Very disappointed. Had great appointments with one of their professional planners for a new kitchen. I was so impressed that I decided to not even show a local kitchen store. Her design was great and well thought out. Cabinets looked great in the store and have very nice features. So I ordered the cabinets. The planner warned me that it may take a few orders to get everything because of supply chain issues. I understand that and don't mind waiting for products. Problem is, I'm now told that the product line I ordered is being discontinued so I may not get the final pieces of my order. To make matters worse, the kitchen I am ordering is one of the main kitchens displayed in the store. There is no warning on the display that the kitchen is being discontinued. The employees I have spoken with have been very nice have had no ability to fix the issue. The product is in their warehouse but is either in another store, or is available locally but the warehouse isn't taking any orders currently and they can't reserve it for me in the meantime. Very unfortunate. What started out as a great experience has deteriorated. Ikea shouldn't sell a portion of an order if they know they can't complete the order. Someone at Ikea corp, please help or Ikea will need to come and pick up the product I have already had delivered or picked up. read more

I LOVE IKEA! I always have and I had great service at them in Southern California when I lived there, but when we got 2 wall units and a bookcase, they really went above and beyond to help us. They even saved us a lot of money on the only item we were buying that wasn't on sale. The way they handled the one damaged item wasn't the best (we spent hours on hold the next day trying to get through to the right person even though the guys delivering it knew it was a mess and told us to refuse it). It would be nice if someone would contact YOU instead of making you contact them. Other than that, everything was wonderful! read more

I moved into a new apartment in June and my first stop was ikea! I ordered a queen size bed, a couch and the mattress and had them delivered! Arrived on time and the guys were awesome. We decided to visit IKEA again last night in hopes that it may be less busy on a week night than our last trip on a Sunday. This experience was by far better than the last! It was not crowded or hectic, and staff members were available to help. Tyler assisted us last night, and he was extremely friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. We were able to get in and out in under a half hour. When we showed Tyler the items we saved to our online wish list, he quickly found them and explained how to pick up the one item across the road at the IKEA Furniture Pick-Up Center. There were only a few people in line at the checkout, and it was a very simple and easy checkout process. The store itself was much cleaner and more organized, and the restrooms were maintained much better than last time we were here. We ended up leaving with four chairs, a table, a mirror, and two IKEA tote bags. I would absolutely recommend IKEA, but I would definitely try to go during the week, as you will receive much better customer service, the store will be more orderly and organized, and the entire shopping process will be much calmer and simpler. read more

I might as well tell you guys what happened to the armoire. It, ummm, kind of...fell apart when we tried to assemble it, and having someone from IKEA make a house call to assemble it for us would have cost us a sultan's ransom, so we returned it. Particle board. That's what it was made out of, and that's what we paid for. Particle board. No joke. We were refunded in full, even months after our purchase, their grace period being all too generous for procrastinators such as us. For several years, I have shopped off and on at this IKEA for furniture and other home goods. A few years ago, I purchased a couch, and it lasted only months before foam fell out and the couch became misshapen, so I will never purchase another couch from IKEA ever again. I also would never trust their beds, mattresses, kitchen cabinets, or appliances, but those products are available if you are interested. The furniture that I usually buy from IKEA is bookcases and desks. I own several IKEA bookcases, and most of them are a decent quality for a very affordable price. Today I wanted to purchase another bookcase, but it would not fit inside my vehicle, so I will instead order it from the website for delivery. In the store, I did buy a couple of bath mats, which have very soft fabric and cost half the price of comparable bath mats from Walmart. Because I was buying only a couple of items, I used the self-checkout. An employee said hello and automatically instructed me on how to use the touchscreens. IKEA is pretty straightforward. If you've been to one, you know what to expect for all of their stores. I love IKEA and have been to this particular location a couple of times over the years. Staff members are friendly and accommodating which can be especially important in a store with this level of traffic. We most recently ventured to IKEA on a Sunday afternoon and at times found ourselves overwhelmed by the crowds making their way through the maze. If time allows, we figured that the overall shopping experience would be more satisfying on a weekday. As always the prices here are very reasonable and this is a great place to get accent pieces. If you're a young person, this store could potentially furnish your place. There are certain pieces that I would not recommend purchasing here due to the fact that they are cheaply made and will not last for a long length of time. You know the saying, "you get what you pay for!" However, the overall aesthetic and style of their pieces are what makes them stand apart from other competitors and for that reason, they'll be here to stay. read more

My wife and I went shopping on March 4th at the Robinson, Pa location. Store was wonderful, most staff was helpful. Unfortunately the gentleman (Larry) that assisted us is a complete moron. We spent an hour and a half with him choosing our bed and mattress. In this time with him, he managed to order us the wrong color bed, misspell my name which is Joshua (NOT JOSHUS), misspell my street name, put the secondary phone number as the primary (thann God my wife actually answered for once), and lied to us about how the delivery works. I think those are 5 pretty important things to get right, don't you? Anyways, we didn't find out all this until Saturday the 9th when our bed finally arrived. The delivery crew came and brought everything up to the porch and said that was as far as they go, when I told ****head in the store I needed it all the way up to my second floor. So it took me bribing them with $40 each for them to actually take it up. I was stuck and they knew it. It is a king size bed and I was home alone missing my sons playoff basketball game because they were coming early, what was I to do!? Later that evening, I finally had time to assemble the bed. I open the first box to find it's the wrong color. Immediately I'm furious after the days ordeal. So what do I do? I immediately look up the number to call the store. But, that would be too easy. Instead, i have to call your 1-888 number. I have to call it not just once or twice to reach someone. No, I had to call your customer service 49 F***ING TIMES IN A ROW, over the course of an hour and a half on the 9th. and I still didnt get answered. So the next morning I decide I'll call first thing at 9 am when customer service opens, there is no way they wont be there, right? Dead f***ing wrong! It took 4 more calls, going through the wrong department to get ahold of someone in the right department, and a 40 minute hold to finally talk to that "right" person. She was very helpful and went above and beyond to help get the correct bed in the correct color and get it re-delivered to me on Tuesday the 12th. Now at this point in the week my wifes and I schedules offset and we are working off times from each other and watching our 8 month old while the other is at work. So, when I finally get to build my bed on the 14th (started at 8pm at night), I get a whole other surprise. I open all the boxes and inspect the pieces because the boxes were banged up a bit. To my surprise I find my head board cracked along the tongue and groove section from having the edge of the box dimpled in. So, I now have a 12 to 13 inch piece that had broken off. Again, I try to reach the correct department in your customer service, and again, NO F***ING ANSWER!!!!!! So I call the wrong department AGAIN to try to reach someone. In doing so, this other department tells me I should go rent a truck and take the headboard back to the store and they should replace it for me. Here is the problem, I ALREADY PAID FOR DELIVERY BECAUSE IT WONT FIT IN MY CAR SO WHY AM I GONNA PAY TO RENT A DAMN TRUCK FOR YOUR M*********ING MISTAKES!!!! So, now I have a bed built in my room, after spending $1300 in your store that day, that I am completely dissatisfied with because its damaged and the whole ordeal. I only continued to build it because my wife and I were tired of sleeping on the floor. So, if anyone in the proper department is able to reach out to me I highly suggest you do, and that you escalate the hell outta my ticket because I'm still pissed! Haven't had time to hit Yelp, Google, your site, and anything else i can with your terrible review that you deserve. So, the next evening I have off that is my plan, as well as to drive the 40 minutes to that store and tell them how i feel and see if anyone there can make this right either. Wanna fix things and make em right? Give me back my delivery fee, and credit me back part of the bed cost because its damaged and I will not deal with getting replacement and going through the entire process again. This review is on the service at the check out line. When a customer who did not speak English approached the elderly cashier, he had 3 trucks full of items, some large and some small parts. The cashier seemed to be unmotivated to process the order with precision or in a timely way. She used the hand-held scanner to scan the items, but between each item, she had to go back to the register. The customers were moving things around, making it easier for the cashier. I stood and watched this in agony, as this could have been a streamlined process. After this sad vision, another worker stepped in to relieve her, but the elderly woman then started a conversation with her about her break! Kidding me?!? To make matters worse, when I approached the new cashier, her first words were, "Do you have an IKEA Family Card?" Not, "Sorry for the wait," or, "Thanks for waiting." Total time standing in line before check out: 15 minutes. Unacceptable. read more

Is there a way to give negative stars? I have purchased things from IKEA periodically over the last five years. Two years there was an ottoman issue that was missing parts but quickly addressed. I purchased a stand for a large TV at 4:00 on a Friday. By 5:30 when I started putting it together I quickly noticed there was a discrepancy between the parts and directions. Stupidly. I tried to call the number on the receipt which is in Baltimore and for all IKEA stores. After 20 minutes I hung up and went back together the store. Seven people deep I tracked down someone that got in touch with someone else. She was friendly and gave me the sides I needed and we discussed difference in rails and how mine would work. I "finish" the stand the next morning. It gets time for the drawers and none of the rails match up. I take the entire stand back to the store (almost five feet long). Start talking to an associate whom I hear is telling me it might have come from a different supplier. I ask if there is anything they can do...nothing. Speak with manager, nothing. Liability won't let them put one together for me to ensure the parts are correct. So my options were take another one hoping it was right and waste more of my time or get a return. I returned it and vowed never to return. Yes, things can be cheap there but why deal with the nonexistent customer service and aggregation. You get what you pay for! read more

To start- let's be realistic this is a cafeteria in a box store. Ok so now that we have established that expectations should be low, low, low; we can move on and be realistic in what's going on here. And that's surprisingly a pretty good deal and some good food. Is it somewhere we would become regulars. Doubtful. Was I shocked at the meal I received for my hangry toddler (hungry + angry) after shopping took much longer than planned? Pleasantly surprised! I was even more impressed that they let my angry monster sample their meatballs to see if he liked the varies types before ordering a full meal. Turns out he wasn't at all fooled by the vegetable meatballs. He quickly realized I was trying to feed him vegetables shaped like meatballs. And when my hangry little monster threw his sample vegetable meatball across the floor and declared that he would not be deceived be vegetables shaped into a meatball, the staff was more than kind about quickly cleaning it up. Laughing about his response to the sweet potato based meatball. Toddlers, they can't be tricked into eating veggies! Not even by Swedish vegetable meatballs. I tried the vegetable meatball sample. Mr. Toddler was ridiculous. It was delicious! I highly suggest ordering them. So after sampling, ordered the adult serving of chicken meatballs with steamed veggies- including curry gravy & lingdon berries on the side (for me, yum) and got plenty of ketchup from the condiments for Mr.Toddler. Since my husband was still busy in another department, I was alone in the cafeteria juggling my angry toddler and meal as we were seating. A staff member helped us find a seat. Got his high chair, extra napkins, and even found us a plastic fork to keep everyone sane. Mr Toddler loves places that only use metal silverware. He's a huge fan of banging the metal silverware off of the plates. I loved that even though the cafeteria is "green" they had plastic ware available for the kiddo when I asked. Mr.Toddler loved the chicken meatballs. Despite his ketchup addiction, he loved them so much that he started to gobble them down.... WITHOUT KETCHUP!........ This is the same child who has attempted to double fist ketchup alone as a meal when a well meaning server placed a bowl of ketchup in his reach elsewhere. This kid loves ketchup on everything. To have ketchup & eat something without making a ketchup dip is saying A LOT! He ate all of the chicken meatballs. Tried the berries. Liked them. (I know weird. He also loves cranberries and hates raspberries) and attempted to throw the beautiful and delicious steamed vegetables at the floor. I ate the steamed vegetables. They were delicious. Bright yellow & orange carrots with cauliflower & broccoli. It was a huge serving a fresh veggies. Mr.Toddler doesn't usually eat veggies willingly. He was intrigued by the beautiful carrot colors and did try chewing a few up before spitting them out, then acting as if an attempted poisoning had occurred. His loss my gain. They veggies were really phenomenal. Not at all what I would have expected to find at ikea. And the very best part. The entire meal, including the iced coffee that I put together. $4.50. My coffee was complimentary. I would never expect to say a meal at Ikea with an unhappy toddler was exceptional, but it was. It really was. The staff really went above and beyond. And again, the price is crazy. Crazy good. Cheaper than the cup of coffee I purchased across the street before stopping in to shop! read more

Oops. We're sliding downhill here! I've shopped at this IKEA for about three years, and have purchased several things here. I won't go into detail on the product (I like it; it works), but will comment on this location and how it's run. During my recent visit (March 2018), checkout took over 30 minutes. Four of 13 check-out lanes were open (on a Saturday afternoon). Each line was about 100 feet long, extending back into the warehouse area. Why aren't they staffed up at an expected peak time? I'm not sure they really care. My family and I also had a quick dinner at their cafe. The food was good, but we found out they had no ice. Both machines were out-of-service. The clerk knew it and said they had been broken for a while. Why sell a soft-drink (or three) if you know there's no ice? They also had no forks. Anywhere. Had to wait five minutes for forks. I asked for a refund for the soft-drinks we could not use and it took over 30 minutes for them to find a manager (clerks are not empowered to refund $3...). When the manager arrived, she was unapologetic and a bit caustic. (Having a bad day, I guess.) So the overall picture is one of slack or incompetent management. read more

I really like this store. I like everything about it (except the distance from Cleveland, OH). I have been here more than 5 times and spend a ton of money but also get a TON of stuff. Its also given me ideas on decorating even if I don't buy some things. The furniture has always been easy for me to assemble and always looks great. For me.....its about a total of 5 hours in the car to come here but always worth it. I like this ikea because even though you can see it off the highway it is incredibly easy to get to from the highway. If I'm looking for a specific item for our house I'll always check IKEA along with my other go-to's to see how it compares. We went to this location looking for a specific item. They didn't have an item we were looking for, but the staff helped us locate it at another store quickly and easily. They even called the store for us to confirm they had the item in stock and then told us exactly how many they had. We didn't spend a lot of time at at this location, as we weren't there to browse, but I would still recommend it. I lost my receipt from my last visit and needed it for expensing purposes. I tried calling the 800 number instead of making another trip to the store.. but couldn't get a respose. I called the customer service number numerous times at different times of the day.. all I got was the recorded message about "dresser" safety. So off to the store I went. They don't have a customer service dept. so I just waited in line near the check out - where "returns" were and they were able to help me. It's your typical IKEA experience but it is crammed into a traffic nightmare. The store doesn't look smaller than others but they have another facility across the street which you will have to use if you buy the wrong item. For whatever reason, mattresses are in the main building but a box frame requires a trip across the street. It's a bit of a nightmare if you came to buy something like a bed and you have a large truck or a trailer to haul over there. I had a similar experience to the other people who mentioned that inventory management doesn't seem to be a strong point of this location. We were asked if we wanted the mattress to match the color of the box frame upstairs. We said, sure, why not? Got downstairs and there was no mattress in that slot. We grabbed the one in the next slot (supposedly a different color) and when we got it all put together, they are the same color. Good thing they were out of the "match", I guess. Is it worth the hassle? Absolutely! Where else can you get an end table for $9.99? For that price, you can grab an extra one and live out your professional wrestler fantasies and throw it around the house. read more

This place is like a giant maze calling your name to get lost. I like ikea and always thought they had a great section of merchandise in all departments. I love how the floor plan is just a giant strip around the store with twist and turns and there's show rooms and other areas to get lost in. There's definitely something here for everyone but plan on making a trip out of it because it will take around two hours to walk and look. IKEA has a great sense of humor with there advertising. Not to mention the food court here is great surprisingly but this review is not on the food. They also offer a great return policy where if you buy something and don't like it they will allow you to return it. This is the calmest Ikea I have ever been in. It's not as big as the ones I'm used to - Portland, OR and Seattle -- but that doesn't matter. I can get in and out quickly and peacefully without having to listen to couples coming unglued over buying a couch. So wonderful. ProTip 1 - If you shop online before you go, be sure to write down the item numbers. Then when you get to the store, find a computer and look up what aisle they're in. You can also try downloading the app, although I seem to have better luck just looking them up on the store computers which are located in the warehouse where you pick up your larger items like bookcases, etc. Really pay attention when you pull things off the shelves. It can be confusing. Don't leave behind important parts or get the wrong color! ProTip 2 - Definitely give yourself time to check out the food section before leaving the store. Such great prices. The lingonberry preserves and the cream sauce packets are a must. ProTip 3 - If you're the least bit hungry, go to the Cafe immediately and do not pass go. Delicious, honest food at great prices. Shopping at Ikea with low blood sugar is a really, really bad idea. Pro Tip 4 - Go with a fully charged phone so you can take pictures of the ideas and things you like. Especially take photos of the numbers of the items. Ikea has gotten smart about doing their own "hacks" and so you'll need several part numbers and they may not be in the same aisle. read more

Who doesn't love bargain furniture shopping at IKEA. This place is not the biggest (they have a separate pickup location), and their parking lot is moderately sized, however they do have all the stuff I need from IKEA plus friendly staff and delivery services for large items (price depending on zones where you live) or a hourly rental U Haul (yes not daily rental). In most IKEAs the layout is very similar so nothing different here. They always seem to have some area under construction, which is pleasantly annoying. One feature I noticed in the Boston IKEA was that they showed how to use a certain room or house area (area-wise decorating i.e. a 300sq foot room etc.) to its best use. In this store you just have to figure it out. The food court usually has daily and seasonal specials (something I did not find in Boston) and their low food prices keep you in the store longer than required. For me, I sometimes take advantage of the free member coffee (need to open a family free account) or their $1.25 frozen yoghurt. read more

This review is only for the restaurant in IKEA. I make no comments about the store itself. I'll admit, we probably didn't choose the best time to visit IKEA for a meal. We went around 7pm on a Saturday , and they were pretty empty. I decided to go with the Swedish meatballs with mashed potatoes and Mac and cheese. After getting our food, we waited patiently for almost a minute while the cashier finished sending a text message. When we finally finished paying, we began our search for either a table that wasn't covered in left over food, or an employee to get one cleaned. We eventually found one, and sat down to begin our meal. I really enjoyed all the food. If you decide on the meatballs, make sure you get some of the berry sauce they'll give you on the side. Both the flavor and texture of the sauce work really well when combined with the meatball and gravy. The mashed potatoes were no steakhouse potatoes, but they were definitely a level above what you could find at any fast food restaurant, and certainly better than what you would expect to find in a furniture store. I really enjoyed the Mac and cheese as well. I also had some of the cola they have in the soda fountain. I wasn't so impressed with it as it tasted kind of like a watered down Pepsi. After we ate, I took a glance at the bill since it seemed kind of high, and realized that they charged more for the Swedish meatball meal than the price on the menu. When my dad went to see what was up, the worker was unsure of how to handle the situation. My dad asked if he could just take a couple candy bars to make up for it, and they let him. Ultimately, even after ordering Extra meatballs, my meal at IKEA left me hungry. I tried to snag some desserts, but all that was left was a lonely piece of pie. YESSSS! Ikea for the WIN!!!!! Add a starbucks and I'm in for life.Bought an entertainment center for $200 and got it home. BEST DECISION EVER.. back to ikea though. It literally has every single thing you could ever think of for a home. Its all stuff you have to put together yourself but totally worth it. the price and quality cant be beat. This was my first ikea run and i was beyond impressed. They have a kids nook! a freaking daycare for kids so the parents can shop in peace and the kids can play in this huge area!! Theres also a cafe and tons of bathrooms. I ran through there like a kid on christmas, stuffing my cart with everything i could think i would need for my home. Customer service was great, they were so helpful and friendly! i will 110% be back!! read more

Lots of great stuff! If it's your first visit: 1. Follow the path in the showroom and look at everything. 2. Wrote down item numbers of the things you might actually want to purchase at the end. 3. Check out the food court area. You can get good deals. All that shopping can work up an appetite. I'm a fan of the $1 cinnamon rolls. 4. Keep yourself in check. The checkout lines were very long the past three times I've been here. Twice I left without purchasing the items I had because of that. The first floor cafe check-out was closed for a break today, so I couldn't buy the food items I wanted. The second floor cafe has good food and service. That's all I did today because of the other problems. read more

Ikea is the DIY lovers Target. When you go inside, you may just be looking for a lamp and the next thing you know, you have a whole new living room. The first floor is full of inspiration with different rooms designed for you with tags telling you exactly where to find each product. That is one of my favorite things about Ikea. The store is huge and I wouldn't want to spend uneccesary time looking around for things I want. The cafe is actually pretty good. They provide simple dishes with a Swedish influence. I hear the veggie "meatballs" come recommended. I have always found the staff to be really helpful and attentive. It even seems that they have hired more people to be in the departments on the years. The help desk on the second floor is really helpful because sometimes the locations of the items can be a but confusing. I do miss the self-checkouts but I certainly can understand why they took them away. There is a speedy check out, though. You can set up delivery after you check out and they also have items available to help you pack fragile things like glassware. Before you leave, you can grab a cinnamon bun or an ice cream cone. They also have a place where you can buy Swedish food like meatballs, candy, and they have some really good chocolate. The chocolate hazelnut bar is my favorite! You can pull your car up to the door to load up if you have big, heavy stuff. I really like Ikea and I'm happy to have a store in Pittsburgh. read more

I've been a fan of IKEA even before they came to Pittsburgh over 20 years ago. In fact, as an Interior Designer, IKEA was my first job out of art school. I was a room decorator and responsible for dressing the bedrooms; children and adults. In fact when I worked there it was the only building finished and close to opening. Robinson Town Center at that time was still under construction and had small restaurant open for business, Top Notch Art Centre and I think candy store. I have always liked the Swedish concept of work and design. It's a copacetic flow that allows all parts of life to merge together. It's seen in everything from their cabinetry to linens and furnishings. I have made many purchases and am always pleased. Everyone knows the joke about assembling the furniture and understanding the instructional drawings but with concentration it can be done. I like the modern selection and that there are lots of choices for different styles, Of course I can't visit without getting something yummy from the cafeteria. Swedish meatballs anyone? read more

This review is for Ikea's cafe. I've been there several times during my recent Pittsburgh sojourn. 1) I came here with my mom before she dropped me off at an airport hotel. She got a cappuccino and I got a latte and we enjoyed our free coffees (thank you Ikea family card) and people watched. 2) I came a second time for a place to park myself for a few hours while waiting for my other half to get off work nearby. I got the chicken tenders, which is way too much food for one person, but enjoyed their quality condiment selection, the fast wifi, the free latte, and, again, the people watching. I got a lot done, too. 3) Third visit I came with my other half for breakfast before going to Main Event to play for the day. We had heard of the legendary 99 cent breakfast. Here it's actually $1 for scrambled eggs, turkey sausage, and potatoes. We splurged on the $2 breakfast which adds Swedish pancakes and lingonberries. He got a cappucino and I got Lipton tea. I am a tea snob, but I actually like Lipton and it's nice to have it sometimes. For $2 it's a great deal--about the same quality as a midrange hotel breakfast. Again, great condiment selection. This is terrible but I dressed up the eggs with hot sauce and ranch and dipped my potatoes in BBQ sauce. But I am weird like that. read more

EXCELLENT SERVICE! I had a 'click and collect' order picked up today! Everything went sooo smoothly! They adapted their pick up process to all safety measures! It's still very convenient! Plus no contact at all! Order was packed very good! At the check-in point we got complimentary chocolate bar with few coupons and 'thank you' note - so simple, but definitely made an impression!! read more

I ordered goods which are "buyable online" on IKEA.com. IKEA cancelled two of my items with reason out of stock. First of all, why would out of stock item be sellable on their website. Also, they cancelled the items without my agreement and I think an online order confirmation means we have a trade agreement. Then comes more frustration with customer service. I tried all four ways to reach their customer representative. 1. I call the number from order cancellation email. Could not reach and could not even joint a waitlist on phone. Call was simply hangup by IKEA with the reason "high volume call" early in the morning. 2. I sent an email to "uscustomercare259@ikea.com", also a contact info from the order cancellation email. Cannot receive a response. 3. Then I messaged them on twitter and facebook. After one day 24+ hours, they are able to tell me they could do nothing but only cancel my order. And if I make a new order, I am not guaranteed all items in new order are available again. Not mentioning the time I waited for the delivery service as well. A verbal apology is nothing compared to the time and frustration shopping on IKEA. IKEA should have fixed their website as well as customer service issue. No other online shopping websites work like this. read more
