In contrast to its name, this store is actually very cool. It is tucked away on a corner off of Penn, so it could be easy to miss. The gals running this store are clearly having a great time and it makes for a fun shopping experience. My wife and I visit Pittsburgh every summer and always try to make it into Hot Haute Hot to buy new items for our home in Arizona. Anyway, had a great time looking all around at a very eclectic collection of furnishings, artwork, jewelry and more! This was fun to browse! Although there's no argument that this store is filled with hip, cool furnishings and decor, I couldn't believe my eyes on Saturday. Upon entering we immediately noticed a beautiful huge Burmese Mountain Dog laying in the entry area on a leash chewing a bone. Okay, I'm a dog lover and dog owner. It's cool that many businesses are dog friendly. But I wondered about the liability of this dog being on the premises. If you're allergic or dog phobic, you may not want to go into this business. We looked around the first floor and then went downstairs. A large velvet sofa was at the bottom of the stairs with a handwritten sign stating to please not sit on it because it had been cleaned for the new owner. Fair enough. A young man came down the stairs with the dog following him. We asked if it was his dog, he laughed and said "it is now!" The dog jumped up on his shoulders and he pushed the dog away. Then the dog casually walked over to the velvet sofa, lifted his leg and peed on the sofa! We walked upstairs and asked the woman behind the desk if she owned the dog. She replied "is he being bad again?" I said he just peed on that sofa down stairs. She asked if it was the leather one. I replied no, that it was the velvet one which was sold and cleaned for the new owner. She said "where's the OdorBan?" That reaction tells me that the dog has done this before. I don't know about you, but I'd rather not buy expensive furniture with dog pee on it. read more

This is a gorgeous shop and a wonderful place to stop into in the Strip. It is very well curated, each and every piece is beautiful and combines to create a great vibe in the store. We walked in and were greeted by a 6 month old Bernese mountain dog puppy and we knew we were right where we were supposed to be. I was looking for a vase, and while I didn't quite find what I was looking for I really enjoyed looking at everything in the store. This place is like walking into that Pinterest page you curated with all your dream furniture and accents, perfectly set in all the right spots. I have to admit, I probably stop in at least once a month, if not more. I just like to look and fantasize about everything here being magically transported into my house. Now, I completely understand that people might be scared off by some of the high prices. It's no Big Lots, that's for sure. But as a non-millionaire myself, I have found some great treasures I felt were moderately priced. The one thing I always point people to are the refurbished tins they make into wall art. They're all from old ceilings and they distress them. I love love love mine, with turquoise and distressed metal. It was a little below $100, which isn't cheap, but will be on my wall for a long time to warrant the price. I also love all the distressed looking cabinets, tables and shelves they have. I believe a lot are up-cycled vintage. They can run for a couple hundred of dollars up to a couple thousand. They also have a variety of other works of art, as well as barware and wall/shelf accents. They also have a decent jewelry selection, which is totally random, but much appreciated in my opinion! So obviously you gotta be ballin' to afford a lot of things here, but you can always dream... and buy smaller items to feel fancy! read more

This place is curated perfectly. Each piece is prettier than the next. I went in with the goal to find lighting for my kitchen/dining room and I left with exactly what I wanted. I wish I was in the market for some furniture because I loved every table and couch that was on display. Even though this place is ideal to nab some eye-popping statement pieces for your home, it's also great if you're looking for a unique gift for someone special. My husband and I popped in here "for a few minutes" and ended up staying a lot longer. LOL. It's a very cool shop filled with lots of things to see from chandlers to furniture to jewelry. There were accessories galore. PLUS there is a downstairs! There are a range of prices if you wanted to pop in for a small gift or decide to spend a little more on a cool piece of furniture you are covered. Every time you look around you see something different. There are some classic pieces but most items are fun/funky/unique. I even met a cool couple who were also shopping. I'm not a "Keeping Up With the Jones's" kind of chick. I actually have no desire to BE the Jones's. I want people to say, "WOW! I have never seen anything like that! Where did you get it?" This was my first time at Hot, Haute, Hot and I loved it. This store is like a dream. They have so many amazing pieces for your home, yourself, gifts and more. I went to the store around 1:30 on Saturday afternoon. It wasn't too busy, but there was a group coming in behind us - so it definitely gets busy on the weekends. When you walk in to the store, it's a lot of home decor - everything is gorgeous. They offer a lot of upscale pieces. The next room that you walk into has a lot of gifts for yourself or to gift to someone else. There were lots of pretty necklaces and gorgeous earrings. I would love to own pieces from there. There's more to explore downstairs- Again, so many gorgeous pieces to decorate your home with. It was like walking into a wonderful showroom! The only problem I had with this shop is that everything is way way way way overpriced. Tea towels were $14 - $20. Little stools were priced at $400. Some furniture was $900+. There are curio cabinets, amazing reclaimed ceiling tile mirrors, plush chairs, fantastic lamps and a bevy of side tables, wall hangings and of course, dining room tables. The service is impeccable -- sweet, helpful women who know every item in their shop and are just as excited to help you shop as you are to find perfect item. The taste level in this store is impressive, as well. As a bonus, they have a few displays of fun, affordable jewelry ranging from delicate to super funky. While the downstairs area with the big items is not in my price range, the upstairs area is so adorable that I don't care. Y'all, this place is stunning, if not slightly over the top. Furnishings, small home goods, beautiful paper, gifts, jewelry, all in that very chic, world traveler, antique but hip sort of way. It's a small space (but be sure to check out the basement!) and well curated. I've bought a couple necklaces there and a wonderful candle that smells like manliness and the woods, haven't actually purchased any of their larger pieces because 1. They expensive! And 2. I spent a good ten minutes salivating over a beautiful upholstered chair and armoire, trying to concoct a payment plan or get-rich-quick scheme in my head that would allow me to buy them (Sell my plasma? Sell my body? Eat nothing but Saltines for six months?) The prices are steep, but even if you know you can't afford it, you shouldn't let it deter you from browsing. Really wonderful place to get ideas. It has a very 'bazaar' like feel which I enjoy because you can just walk around to soft music and let different things catch your eye. Stopped in looking to furnish my new apartment. I was the only customer in the place on a weekday afternoon. I was never greeted by sales staff or acknowledged. There was an older woman and a younger woman working. As I was browsing the jewelry the older woman said loud enough so I could hear for the younger sales associate to watch me so I didn't steal anything.
