While on a trip to Orlando I was headed to Nordstrom Rack when I saw the big IKEA sign. It was 11 am and Swedish Meatballs sounded good. So before shopping I decided to fuel up and headed straight for the restaurant on the second floor of IKEA. It's a casual cafeteria style eatery featuring food from Sweden. The food line starts with dessert which I think is awesome! The Swedish sodas are also self serve. The prices are all very reasonable. My favorite is the Swedish Meatballs. They are so yummy! I had a hard time selecting a dessert because they all looked so good. I chose the vanilla layer cake with buttercream and berry filling. They had several fruit flavors of soda and I chose raspberry. Everything tasted great! After lunch I walked around IKEA. I love looking at everything and always manage to get a few things to bring home. On this trip I found tiny IKEA bag keychains! I love IKEA but have avoided it due to crowds. This review is for the restaurant. Going to the restaurant is the only way I can get out of there with $$ in my pocket. Actually last year we went to the Orlando IKEA's annual Swedish Julbord buffet in December. This is not like the Swedish chef from Sesame Street but a real buffet of international flavor treats. Only snafu is that you have to buy your tickets at the restaurant in advance. This one day event sells out and they will not let you in without a ticket. If you have an IKEA family account it is like $10 or $11 including the drink. On the way out you have to walk through the store and find items you never knew you needed. Avoid the markdown rack at the bottom of the stairs! But back to the restaurant review. For a Sunday afternoon dinner we decided on Ikea. This restaurant is upstairs and says "Smorgsbord" which is a cafeteria line where you grab a tray, select cold and hot items and pay the cashier after you have filled your tray. They have cool little carts for the trays to prevent drops and spills. We got the Swedish meatballs, mashed potatoes and green beans. After we said "meatballs" our plate was completed for us so if you want something different - - speak up. We also got the pork shank with green beans and mashed potatoes. Both entrees were excellent. Well cooked and seasoned and plentiful From the cold section we got the salmon which was served cold to put on crackers and the blueberry mousse for dessert. The crackers were sold separately for like 15 cents. I really did not need the salmon and crackers but it was my favorite. This almost could have been a meal for me but I put it on the tray before we got to the hot items. The blueberry mousse was ok. It had a nice texture but a subtle flavor. Bonus points for flavored water and ligonberry juice drink. No high sugar sodas. This is a nice meal at a great price any time but I think the December Julbord buffet is so fun and a great experience. Remember to buy tickets in advance as they will be sold out on the day of the event. We found an open table near the front windows where you can see the flags and the children's play area. I liked that the toys are interactive displays and most of the kids seemed to really have fun. Unfortunately on this day after browsing on the way out, we also stopped at the cafe near the checkouts and got ice cream and killer cinnamon rolls. read more

We love coming to IKEA. Their displays are a great place to get ideas for storage and use of space. We had to make a return and it couldn't have been easier. You walk in and touch the iPad. It asks you specifics about your reason for returning and then prints a number. We only waited maybe 5 minutes. Afterwards, we ate at the restaurant upstairs. My son and I came here because he was looking to pick up a bookshelf. Unfortunately, his bookshelf was sold out. However, as we walked through the place, we both found quite a few items for court with. Pricing here is very good. You can honestly get some very good deals. It is also kind of a trip walking through this place. We have little room setup so you can kind of get a feel of how it would look and your house or perhaps give you some ideas. They also have some food items and a little place where you can buy them already prepared if you are looking for a quick snack. I must say, after seeing a sign for a hot dog, I almost wanted to grab one. Fortunately or unfortunately, I had dinner plans afterwards so I had to pass. This is a great place to come check out. Traffic on this particular day was pretty bad, do I would feel the traffic will always be kind of bad in this area. It is located by The Mall at Millenia where you have a combination of tourists and locals lurking around. My son and I will be going back here when the bookshelf comes in. I normally do not get anything from the cafeteria but this time was different. So I chose the swedish meatballs with mashed potatoes with gravy. The mashed potatoes and gravy we're of good consistency the meatballs are definitely different being swedish the veggies a little old and soggy. So only two stars for the food. There are not enough kiosks for the amount of traffic that goes through here. Weekdays during the day are the only time to go, they are still super busy but busy as KC or Denver IKEA is on a weekend. Except it's Orlando and middle of the day in a weekday. Today we opted for Saturday afternoon and I felt Claustrophobic the entire time. Wear close-toed shoes if you do come on a weekend because no one pays attention to anyone else and you will likely get a toe or two ran over at some point. I can't pass up my chance to look old, snobby, and to ruin a 420 reviews hit mark for IKEA, because it's 4:20... so here we go. First, I have never had a complaint with IKEA (except the food, of course), but I must say that every time I build IKEA's furniture, I have to visit the chiropractor. I am just not good at being on my knees, or bending down. Second, despite the price and lightness of the furniture, it is pretty good, resistant, and lasting. It is also extremely functional and hip. Having a piece of IKEA furniture is not bad. I would not replicate a showroom inside my house, but I can't say "no" with certitude and I just might do it someday. Third, and here we go into deficit, why the heck are they not fully stocked? You spend your day planning and when you hit the warehouse, no furniture is available. That is a pain, but then again, this is IKEA's model and maybe one of the reasons why things are cheap. But as a true Yelper, I can't skip the food portion of this visit. Some of the grocery stuff is cool, and I also applaud the vegan hot dogs, but some of the hot food in the dinning room is rubber, apparently to stick to the IKEA model. Maybe it is not rubber but compressed paper or wood, who knows. Im extremely disappointed with this place. I just moved to Orlando August 1st from New York with no furniture. I will add that I am disabled and walk with a cane so getting an in home delivery was extremely important. I spoke to the office at my complex and they made it clear that I have to get everything inside right away and that they could actually get fined if the entrance was even somewhat blocked. They also said the fine would be passed to me. I actually took an uber to the store to clarify the different types of deliveries. I also wanted to check out the beds. I came home and put the order in online. My delivery day was Saturday the 16th. I was originally given a delivery window of 8am to 8pm but on Friday i got a text saying 4pm to 8pm. I went to the gym in the morning and was home by noon. I got a text at around 330 saying " your delivery is completed". I went outside and everything was on the porch leaning against the building. So I called and waited on hold about 20 minutes and got a general customer service rep, I thought i was on hold for the shipping department. First thing I was told was my delivery charge would be refunded (thanks but thats not the reason I called). The woman I spoke to tried to call and then emailed the store. I was on the phone for a while and they finally emailed back and told her " the customer was having a party and asked for everything to be left outside. Thats a lie, I just moved here and don't know anyone. After being put on hold for the third time a guy from the complex knocked on the door and told me I need to get everything inside. I told the woman I needed to go and she could call back if she got anywhere. I walked over by the pool to see if I could get some help. I asked some kids and they wanted 200$ thanks to the guy from the complex coming over to tell it needs to be done right now as I was negotiating. So 200 dollars later I get a call from the lead guy from the delivery. He told me he had to bring his wife to the hospital. So his wife needed to go to the hospital and he stayed at work to kinda finish his day? Suspect in my opinion, but whatever. It is Tuesday morning and I haven't gotten any kind of phone call or feedback from this place (crickets). It was way to hard to even contact them about the problem. Today, thanks to IKEA Orlando, I had the opportunity to live the most bizarre, humiliating and despicable experience of my life as a resident in the USA. And all because the person in charge of returns and replacements at the IKEA store in Orlando, Mr. Bryan, sentenced that 3 Latinos (2 Venezuelans and a Puerto Rican), and a Trinidadian-born Indian, do not have enough merit as customers to face his arbitrariness. Today, we opened a box of an office table purchased at IKEA Orlando, to install our booth at VISION EXPO 2025 in Orlando, realizing that it was not the furniture we needed. We packed the table carefully to include all the items. The box was closed using transparent packing tape. We went to IKEA to make the exchange, and at the time of concluding the transaction, the person in charge of the area, Bryan, informed us that they would receive our products as a return but we were banned from making new purchases at IKEA, since we would be carrying out a kind of fraud against IKEA; according to him, the box returned by us did not contain the product we had bought, but a different one, where pieces were missing. Bryan claims to have produced this version by watching the videos from the returns area, videos that he refused to show us. Faced with our emphatic refusal to accept his version of events, Bryan entered the returned items area and brought a DIFFERENT box from the one we had returned, with a table model of different size, design and color. To our explanations that this was not the product we returned, Bryan replied that he had nothing more to discuss with us. However, coincidentally, through one of the windows that allows to to watch inside the offices, we could see the box we returned, with the packing tape still stuck to the cardboard of the box. Bryan categorically refused, over and over and over again, to bring us precisely that box with the packing tape, denying us the slightest right to prove to him that we are not the scoundrels he prejudiced thinks we are. We have been purchasing IKEAs furnitures, in Miami and NY, since 2016. We use the products to install our booths at VISION EXPO, as well as various office furniture and appliances. In the face of several thousand dollars in purchases in all these years, I want to tell Bryan, his boss, and his boss's boss, that $130 or $140 of the value of this table have revealed the blunder, the lack of seriousness and the inability of IKEA in its recruitment policies. People charged of serving customer should be filtered to exclude arbitrary, derogatory and discriminatory personality. My personal opinion is that Bryan may probably fit well for working with pigs, chickens or ducks in a farm, but not for dealings with customers. read more

Best part of Ikea for me is exploring the home dioramas that are new everytime I visit! Each trip gives me an opportunity to be inspired about developing my own home. Whenever I visit I always check out the food court. My experience this round was a little less then average, but still very good. Still find it funny that a furniture store has a food court but I'm not complaining. Products are pretty high quality and useful. I always find myself leaving with something that I'll find myself using pretty often. There's a clearance section at this location that offers some discounts on used furniture, discontinued items, dying plants, and spare parts. This trip I ended up snagging some cheap dying palms and plant on nursing them back to health. Additionally snagged a pretty good piece of wood for a project I'm working on. Aesthetically-pleasing furniture pieces that are affordable. Easy to find everything too. Very organized. There's a discount area that has open box items or "as is" that are things that could have minimal damaged and will be super discounted. If you don't mind that, this could be a gold mine for you. We found our adorable round coffee table here for $30 (see pic) pre-assembled with two tiny scratches. We were originally going to get the Listerby for $79 (IKEA Family price) that was almost the exact table. Always check this area first! I'm an elementary school teacher and have also found stools, containers and more here for my classroom. Can't tell you how many times I've been here and I always leave happy! Thought it was strange they only had 2 lines open to pay midday Saturday. We waited maybe 15min so it wasn't horrible. My only complaint though so not bad! read more

They set up complete rooms that were only 200 to 400 square feet in a way that made you feel as though you could live like that. The store is perfect for those moving into their first apartment or if you are into DIY projects. There were many customers bent over computers redesigning rooms in their homes. Prices are very reasonable but you have to assemble the items yourself or pay a service charge to have it assembled for you. They have a cute kids section filled with fun bedding, furniture and toys. I haven't been to an IKEA for a decade so I was excited to go. I'll start off with saying that masks are still being enforced (I happily wore one so, no problem - if you don't want to wear one they will mail you a catalog. Second, I read other reviews that parking was an issue but I lucked out and got one right away. Once I got inside, I wasn't sure where to go and where to get a cart, eventually the greeter pointed to me in the right direction and off I went... to follow the arrows to around the strategically laid out mega store. I went on a weekday so it wasn't super busy and I didn't feel rushed. At the end of my tour, I purchase some dishes, patio stuff, and OLIVE OIL! Again, OLIVE OIL don't miss getting some. What an experience. I like Ikea and have not been in well over a year but today it was the worst I have ever experienced. You expect parking to be difficult and there to be crowds, yes I get that. We arrived and found the elevator was broken. (was with someone and escalator was not an option) We walked "backwards" through the store to get to the only other elevator. (Ok things break I get it) We got to do our shopping and grabbed a quick bit in the café. People working there looked miserable and really gave the place a prison cafeteria feel. When we went to go back downstairs the ONLY other elevator was not broken. We are on the top floor and BOTH elevators are not working. I honestly witnessed a 91 year old woman (they mentioned her age) walking down all the stairs to get out. She had 2 people helping her but still. I was SO worried for her! At that age? I mentioned it to a worker that perhaps they should call a manager to at least be present, they could not have cared less. I finally was able to make my purchase and head to the loading dock. While the staff was pretty non-existent inside, outside was a different story. I had to wait for them to "pull" one of my items that was not available in the self serve area. This process took 20 minutes of waiting to get ONE of the several items I purchased. While at the dock, a worker told me I had to empty my cart while waiting because he wanted to take the empty cart back inside. I would think if they took a few employees and moved them inside to pull the stock promptly then they would not have people with carts filled waiting on ONE item. Just seemed like a rough day at Ikea. Things broken down, poor service and slightly rude employees. I think I may wait another year before returning. read more

And here we are... We had to leave the state to go to one! A slightly different layout than Conshohocken (PA.) I got the traditional Swedish meatball platter. Kelly got a sampler plate (braised pork shank, Swedish meatballs, potatoes & Mac & cheese (she didn't like the vegetable choices.) And we each got a slice of sticky chocolate cake. We walked around a bit... They had a special on stuffed animals in December 2020 when we visited. Included in the normal Triceratops and Tyrannosaurus Rex, they had a Ankylosaurus... If you've been to an IKEA, you know the drill: you enter on the bottom floor & take an escalator to the 2nd floor, loop through furniture, kitchen ware, lights, and accessories for your home, then the warehouse area. Everything was very clean, the employees were attentive, and there were a lot of guys sleeping on the couches while their significant others shopped. Lol. This is a really, really, late review. I actually didn't spend a whole lot of time at this location since I already pretty much knew what I wanted. At the time, we has recently moved into a house that has a Florida room. I wanted to design it based on a Pinterest inspired coastal room and one of the main component was a beige sofa. I looked online at a few places and Ikea had one that was most similar and affordable (Pottery barn had one but it was at least three times the cost). At that time, the JAX location was being constructed but I didn't want to wait a couple more months so on our way to Disney, we stopped by so I could sit on the sofa and also look at the color in person. Comfortable enough. Sometimes sofas look nice online but very stiff in reality, so it was important to me to test it out first. Some people have said that Ikea stuff is junk. Perhaps it's true for some items, but we had a hand me down sofa before and it was very durable and one of the most comfortable sofa we've very owned. Plus many of Ikea sofas have removable covers which makes them washable. I wanted the sofa but had no vehicle to bring it back to JAX so we didn't end up buying anything at that time. The only thing we did purchase was food from the cafeteria and it was meh. They had a deal at that time where if your purchase is over $100, you get to eat free (essentially refund your money). Since we were not able to use that deal, we gave our receipt to a family who had lots of stuff in their cart. Lol. Hopefully they were able to put it to use. I ended up ordering the Ektorp 3 seat sectional in Lofallet beige and two computer desks online (we looked at the desk while were here too). Shipping was pretty expensive, $79 but the sofa was on sale for $424 (regularly $499) so it was like I paid full price for it. I placed order on June 5, 2017 and it was delivered on June 13 which was even faster than the original ETA. They called and scheduled the delivery a few days prior and delivery guy came within the delivery window. Everything arrived undamaged. The only thing that kinda suck with Ikea products is a lot of items require assembly. You don't have to know how to read to be able to do it...there are only photos. Great right?! Nope, I can't follow photos! That's where the hubby comes in. Lol. Overall I was happy with my experience at this location. Navigating through it wasn't very easy, but we managed. read more

When you think of IKEA you think of a place for trendy furniture and decorations. You don't think about food. I found myself in here today and I decided to get lunch. I work in Mall at Millenia near by and the food court gets old fast. I wanted to try something new. I was very impressed by the prices and food options. I decided to get the Swedish meatballs. This meal came with mashed potatoes, gravy, atleast 8 meatballs and mixed veggies. For all of this I only paid $5. I also paired my meal with pear flavored sparkling water. This food isn't gormet but I found it appetizing and and I enjoyed my meal thoroughly. The best part about my lunch was the customer service. Everyone seemed genuily happy to be there and greeted me with a smile. The gentleman who fixed my plate was so sweet. The line was long but they prepared plates and rang customers fastly so I was next in line in no time. I noticed aside from the already great options and prices they do specials daily and offer free coffee in the morning. Ikea is a great place to roam and explore and find some great deals. While I feel like the furniture is pretty low to the ground, when it comes to seating, I love the kitchen gadgets especially and the little pantry area outside the checkout area. It's a great place to explore the traditional Swedish food items like Lingenberry jam, Daim Chocolates and Almond cakes. They also have the most incredible cinammon rolls served hot and fresh every day. Their restaurant upstairs offers a variety of tasty items, with the most sought after item being Swedish Meatballs. Ikea has everything you didn't know you needed in your life and if you have small children, a place to drop them off at while you shop!
