I love visiting Ikea. No matter which Ikea you visit all of the stores have a very similar layout so it's very easy to navigate and explore. The parking lot: the parking lot is a bit different from other ikeas in Canada. Because it's in more of an urban area, there are multiple levels which means you can park "indoors" which is great for this winter days. It also makes it convenient because the exit is sheltered so when you park to load your car you're protected from any rain or snow The store: because of this location, no matter what time of day or day you visit it is always packed with people. But to be honest this is what makes Ikea and Ikea. If you don't get stressed in an Ikea then did you really have a good time?! The service: there are lots of staff in this store to accomodate the heavy traffic which is nice. There always seems to be someone available if you need help The assortment: just like all Ikeas, the assortment is always well merchandised and makes you feel inspired to buy everything. After you are already so overwhlmed with too many different choices of furnitures, you want to sit down at the cafeteria and eat their food. What should I eat? For some reason their cute little food excites me. Smoked salmon salad plate ($6.49 Swedish Gravadlax) and Veggie Medaillons($0.99) are my favorite things. This time we ordered Swedish meatballs and shrimp and egg sandwich($5.49) as well. I would not order shrimp sandwich again though if I ever come back here. It was smothered with mayo. I guess I could have taken mayo off from my sandwich but it was too pretty to ruin the presentation of sandwich. Daily soup($2.49) was tomato soup and it was surprisingly good and not as salty as other fast food restaurant's soup. There are plenty of options to choose from. Lighter meals, snacks, healthy meals and fried treats. Of course the most popular choice is the meatball combo. It comes with mashed potatoes, gravy, veggies and cranberry sauce. It's a very balanced meal for a food court situation. On the other side of the health balance is the fish and chips combo. I pretty much grew up going to IKEA. As a toddler, I enjoyed playing in the ball pit on the first floor near the entrance. But then one day, some kid peed in the pit and I was not allowed to go in. Man, that broke my heart as a kid, but also made me realize how germy ball pits can be! It's pretty cool they still have the ball pit in the same place after all these years though! On a normal day, this location can get quite busy. On the weekends, it's insanely crowded. One can make IKEA as a day outing by spending the day browsing the cool set ups of each showroom and eating in the cafeteria (both downstairs and upstairs cafeterias). If you have kids with you, there are various small play areas when you reach the kids section of the showrooms. The food here is very affordable since they keep it no frills and super simple. On my most recent visit, I had the salmon meatballs which came with vegetables, mashed potatoes and a ratatouille-like side. Pro tip: always order the classic Swedish meatballs. The salmon meatballs were okay, but nothing beats the original. The vegetable medallions are actually quite addicting too. The prices are low and the food is pretty awesome. Swedish meatballs are a staple. But they also have other hot food on rotation. A must try is their roast pork dish, if they have it. This is your standard IKEA, affordable food and furniture, and an awesome market hall where you could find plants, bedding and what not. It's super clean here, but it's easy to get lost around the maze of the store. The food here is super affordable I often find myself coming after school to IKEA with friends as it has everything here. The Swedish meat balls are their top seller but you really need to look into the veggie medallions - for all the years I've been to IKEA I've never given them a chance they are to die for. A plus is a lot of their items they sell at the cafeteria they also sell frozen in the market hall. Unfortunately, the one thing I can't grab are the veggie medallions with no official restock insight. Make sure to take advantage of their veggie hotdog deal or their froyos/sundaes as it's the perfect way to end your long haul around the superstore. This IKEA location is quite special to me because it is the first IKEA I ever been to. Back them when I was in University, I came here quite a bit to get some cheap furniture and I still have some of those around my house. Years later, I am back again. After been to the bigger location in Vaughan which is never crowded on a weekday, this location feels packed and super busy. All these shoppers have nothing doing to like me on a weekday afternoon? The store set up itself is quite crammed too.. Or just because of all the shoppers? I can imagine how busy it would be on a weekend! Yogurt cone was just as good as I remembered though. Imagine your at a store stocked with a wide variety of home furnishings, outdoor decor, abundant parking and friendly service. Now open your eyes, you are not at IKEA. This place with COVID-19 on top is not worth the trip. If you are able to find parking, you than have to join the huge migration into the display area. If your lucky enough to complete the display area you will discover it was not worth the effort. Most of the inventory has not been refilled or is not available. I like the idea of IKEA and how it's displayed in store. Personally I would not purchase every single piece of furniture from them (and I don't recommend you to do that either!) but it gives me a lot of creative ideas for home decoration. I also admire the company foundation's efforts on some social issues. This store is of medium size compared to the Ottawa one (which is the only other location I went to in Canada). However being situated next to HWY 401 and Leslie stations makes it quite busy most of the times. This contributes to the long lineups at the restaurant, snack bar and checkout. I am not certain if all IKEAs have the same selection but this location is well kept and staff is very helpful. They seem to have shortstaff problem though. Despite the long lineups, a lot of self checkouts were closed during my last visit. I find their food affordable but average. Not really worth the hassle. I would not go to IKEA specially for lunch but I know some of my friends do... Also the parking is a hot mess, especially on weekends. You're likely to encounter the worst bunch of drivers here with bad manners yet YMMV :) read more

I bought the sectional July 03. Ikea scheduled from 1 till 5 pm. They showed up at 6:30 in condo building you cannot keep elevator till that time. I just had the worst experience with Ikea delivery services. They scheduled for delivery to happen on Wednesday from 9am-1pm at our place and stated we would get a call beforehand to let us know they are coming. They didn't come until 4:30pm and didn't call us until they were outside our home and by that time nobody was home. They called me to reschedule and they didn't have spots until Sunday and once again gave me the 9am-1pm slot. However I was clear that they need to at least call me 30 minutes in advance prior to their arrival and the ikea customer service assured me they would do so. This store is my second favourite store ever (after Chapters) - I love the food, strolling through the showroom, and getting my furniture needs in the marketplace. I especially love the cafeteria-style food, with the Swedish meatballs meal for $6.99, which comes with 8 meatballs (note: this is a blend of BOTH pork and beef), mashed potatoes, steamed veggies, gravy, and lingonberry sauce. I usually add another 4 meatballs for $1.49 more. I recently also tried their fries, which is deliciously crispy. I would skip on the pop, since it tastes really artificial and it's the IKEA in-house brand's pop. As for purchasing furniture, the only downside is that it's usually hard to find someone here to help you, especially in the showroom. Every piece of furniture has a tag that says where you can find it in the marketplace or warehouse portion. Also, once you buy your furniture, you can park your car in the pickup area to conveniently pick up your large items closer to the exit. There's also another food station with a smaller selection, by the exit. Most people by the frozen yogurt (which is essentially ice cream) here! Came here on a Saturday evening. Upon entering IKEA there is alway nice little displays. I saw this really pretty decorative tray and I took a picture of it just so I can look for it later in the market hall. As usually IKEA was fairly busy inside. We also grabbed dinner. Can't go with from the meatballs. I would say the food is okay ... it's a bit cold. When we finally got the the market hall. I was looking everywhere for the tray. I had asked 3 different employees and yet still was not able to locate the tray. Very disappointing. Do display something at the front if you don't even sell it or have in stock! The lines for the ice cream was super long. The area was super dirty. Melted ice cream in the floor, big puddle. Someone had to reach far over to grab their hot dogs. I know it's close to end of day... but it also only takes a min to clean up the mess. Overall, I love IKEA for what it is. Always a hit or miss though. Hard to find parking. read more

Wanted to write a quick food review for Ikea. This is based on their quick eats cafeteria on the first floor by the exit door. I haven't been in awhile but when I'm there I like to grab some cheap eats. I noticed that they took out all their pepsi products and replaced it with their own brand of beverages. The price of hotdogs went up and they also added pizza to their menu. The line up to get the dogs were long but that's not out of the ordinary. The service was courteous and quick. The main counter where you pay and grab your order was relatively clean. The condiment and drink area were pretty messy though. I know a lot of business goes through but even a quick wipedown every hour or so would go a long way. The hotdogs are now $1 each or $2.50 for two hotdogs and a drink. The pizza is $2 a slice or $2.50 with a drink. The drinks were okay. We tried their raspberry pop and cola with stevia. I definitely prefer the taste of Pepsi or Coke products but it's only 50 cents extra so it's not a big deal. I like how they've eliminated straws and use sippy lids instead now. The hotdogs haven't changed. Still the same tasty steamed hotdog. One of my hotdog buns got a bit too wet in the steaming process though and the bottom fell apart. I almost lost my weiner lol The pizza! Ugh! I hope (but doubt) someone from Ikea food marketing reads this because please, for the love of swedish meatballs, take your pizza back to the drawing board. It's really really awful! It's just a sauce and cheese pizza (that part doesn't really matter) but the smell and taste... It smelled like wet cardboard and tasted exactly like what the smell of freezer burnt cardboard pizza smells like. The sauce is not seasoned so you're just eating lukewarm bland tomato sauce. I never really enjoyed their food here but my sister wanted to eat so we end up ordering a plate of pasta and the famous meatballs. Meatballs were good but not filling. The pasta. Omg was the worst tasting pasta ever. It felt like it came literally out of the box without being boiled. It's so hard and stiff. Feels like it's been there for 5 days. And the sauce, tomato, but it's definely just poured over from the can without even cooking or heating. It's by far the worst. Also the utensils are dirty!!! This is my favourite Ikea location. The layout isn't as confusing as other's I have been in and I've always had a good experience here. The people are friendly when you need help however only if you can find them! The yellow shirts don't stand out all the time. Of course, you can never go to Ikea without scooping some of those meatballs. Delicious! But who doesn't know this already? Prices are good, quality isn't bad and I always leave with what I find. I usually get the mac and cheese which is my favourite and the garlic bread was tasty. As for the store itself it's easy to navigate around, if you're looking for a specific item (decorations, shelving, lights, fake plants) -- they're most likely on the other floor located downstairs. One thing I like a lot is they got a model condo unit setup for anyone that has a condo and wanted ideas. Onto my trip here. I came to pick up some new pillows and other bedroom accessories. Nothing too thrilling. I even had a self serve cashier to process my merchandise to avoid the unnecessary crowds. Their self check out systems are prompt and efficient. It is Ikea so the usual expectations have to fall in line here. A maze to walk through and a lot of neat stuff to discover. This place, especially, the kids area is heaven to my kid - since she likes to explore the display stuff. I'll be honest here - because it is Ikea and they actually want you to test quite out their stuff - it doesn't make me feel as guilty - when my kid wants to play in the play tent. But I will be honest here - the best thing is the restaurant upstairs - and it isn't because of the low price point for food either - this place is practically built for frazzled parents to have a meal without completely losing their minds. There is lots of small play areas for the kids to investigate and play; while mom and dad take the 5 minutes to scarf down the Ikea standard meatballs; fish & chips or butter chicken. Tons of highchairs for parents with kids are available as well as disposable bibs and a microwave for the parents that need to warm up baby food. Parking is still a pain in the butt here; but this place is a surprising default for me and my husband to take our Little one for some entertainment. read more

DO NOT BUY!!! The wood has bed bugs/eggs in it!! We bought this crib for our newborn, and after a few months, our home is infested with bed bugs! We kept everything clean with no pets. We called over pest control and they reported the bed bugs were inside the wood of this crib!! We had to throw away our (adult) mattress and the baby's mattress because they may be infested with bed bug eggs to prevent re-hatching. Both mattress were brand new! Our baby have had SEVERE SKIN RASH for 4 months now, no medication helped, even the pediatrician don't know why, but now we know - it's because of the bed bugs from this crib! Now we got rid of it (and the bed bugs) and her skin is clearing up fast! We reported this issue directly to Ikea but the customer service was very rude and said we are just making it up to get money back, and refused to believe anything we said even though we had proof! I love Ikea. Sure the quality of the furniture isn't fantastic (I'm sure we all have a Billy bookcase, sagging with books and crap) but they are able to give people decent looking items for a decent price. Today I had the fun task of returning a whole bunch of large picture frames. Being unable to trick anyone into coming with me, I was tasked with driving to the loading area and try to heave all the frames onto a cart alone. An Ikea associate was nice enough to help me and watch the cart while I parked. I got to the returns area which was pretty comfortable and moved quite quickly. I was happy about that. Went to the restaurant to get breakfast, but discovered that the scrambled eggs had milk in them. No breakfast for me. Went through the Marketplace and got a bunch of junk for my house and did the self checkout, which was quick, easy, but didn't take cash like other self checkouts. Overall a decent experience, 1/4 of the associates I spoke to was super nice, and the other three were reasonably polite. I will go back again, but only because at this juncture, I can't afford anything else. read more

IKEA meatballs. That is all. Sometimes my boyfriend and I make pointless trips to IKEA just for their food. I'm obsessed with their meatballs with the gravy and cranberry sauce they have, it's a great mix, and not to mention cheap enough to get you full! Luckily they sell bags of frozen meatballs that you can purchase near the exit, saves me the time to mission down there. Other than the meatballs however, there's barely anything to look at. You walk through the entire place, and come out with nothing. From afar, a lot of the furniture and showrooms are nice to look at... until you get up close & personal with the price tag. Why is everything so expensive? Or rather their items are just too overpriced. IKEA manages to be the first place I go to when I'm looking to renovate or redecorate my bedroom but ever do I come out with a full set of equipment. Whenever I pay a trip to IKEA, I usually get something small - like one of their fake plants from the marketplace or a lamp to replace a broken one.
