They make a good flat white. Smoothe.
Deb P.

The Greek pastries and North American assorted pastries were off the charts. The Greek pastries reminded me of the phyllo dough savouries my own grandmother made. OMG. Crispy, not too greasy and stuffed full with quality feta, spinach and other assorted varieties. And loukoumades if you're not on diet. LOL. Calorie bombs of fried dough, drenched in honey/simple sugar syrup. Their doughnuts were huge, some plain and others with masses of icing. I truly enjoyed my tiropita and hubby loved his loukoumades. My flat white coffee was extremely smoothe. It's a quiet space which I always prefer. Very DEFINITELY worth a stop if you're in the area. Brisk, efficient service. Efharisto poli, Serano Café.

Lovely cafe. Staff were delightful. I'm a huge fan of the Serano bakery so their cafe did not disappoint. There are limited desserts so you'd have to go to the bakery for their normal full selection. I bought 2 donuts and a latte. The donuts were good but didn't taste the freshest. The latte was delicious. I'd go back.

Based on the mixed reviews I was looking to get down to the truth. I found what I was hoping to find, great pastries + espresso. Staff is good. I was looking for the great serano pastries at the counter and found something that I loved. After that, in the centre of the cafe I found a truck load of even better pastries! I'll have to save that for next time. Great place. Recommended

Really friendly gentleman working behind the counter and what a gorgeous place. I wish I could sit down, read and have a cup of their amazing coffee. We got a latte and a chai latte. Mmmm so good. The coffee was flavourful but not too acidic and the chai was so delightful. They had a ton of great looking treats to try as well. I highly suggest this place if you need a little pick me up. Even the music was great

I stopped by in a recent visit to Toronto when it made more sense to wait for my wife than to drive back and forth from our hotel in Mississauga amidst... hey did you know that (unscientific as this may be) traffic may actually be worst on weekends than during the week? Reason is that, while many folks commute using public transit, car owners drive to their destinations on weekends. This is a small, sun-shiny kind of space, with Wifi. The front part, especially, is a good place to bask in the rays. They seem to offer a few food choices for breakfast and lunch, but since I was just looking for a place to hang out for 90 minutes, I was going to be "minimal patron". I thought about another coffee, but decided against it, since I already had double the caffeine I usually consume before noon, I opted for the "cheapest" choice, in the form of a Perrier. Cha-ching and "ouch" and $3.74 later (OK it's CAD, but still), I'm left wondering whether I could have made a better choice: as in, a cookie and that bottle of water I had with me?

The cafe has both caffeinated as well as non-caffeinated options available as well as pastries for sale. They also have unique seasonal drinks like the tres leche latte, razzy mocha, lavender latte, etc., changing with each season. There is some indoor seating, however, they also have a small patio in front as well to enjoy your coffee. I opted to stop by Oliver Coffee Bar on a hot Wed afternoon, needed some iced coffee to cool down. Upon entering the space, the seasonal drink board had some interesting options, however, I decided to get an iced Americano. My coffee was made at a reasonable time and it tasted good. I decided to chill on the patio for a few minutes enjoying my beverage before I was on my way. Service was friendly, the place wasn't busy at all considering it's about a 7-10 min walk from Pape subway station. Overall, a good coffee shop in the East York area - something to try if you're in the area!

The service was friendly and quick, though I'd have liked a bit more personalization. The coffee itself was solid--well brewed, with rich flavors--but nothing that stood out as truly exceptional. It's a good spot for a caffeine fix, but there's definitely room for more creativity and charm.

We tried the egg & cream cheese and the ham & Swiss, and wow... insanely buttery, perfectly flaky on the outside, and soft on the inside. This was definitely due to everything being made fresh in-house. When we ordered, we caught a glimpse of trays of butter-loaded croissants at the back, ready to go into the oven. My partner straight up said it was the best croissant she's ever had--so that says a lot. Drinks held up too. The strawberry latte was super refreshing, with a tangy syrup that paired really nicely with the espresso. My dirty chai was solid, though I was a bit bummed they didn't have stovetop chai--it just hits different. I liked how they host local artists' works & shows too. It's a very intimate & community driven cafe.

They make their baked goods on site, so if you are lucky, you can get things hot out of the oven. My favourites are the ham and cheese croissant and "eggy boy" (round croissant with egg, goat cheese and pepper). There is wifi and they have newspapers, so it's the kind of place to relax and stay a while. In the summer, there are a few patio tables. Year round there is an outdoor seating area (benches) which is perfect for bringing your dog (they also have nice dog treats!!). Expectation wise? Don't expect Michelin star chefs or fancy interiors. It's a very humble setup in a non-traditional office building with staff who go the extra mile to assist customers. My pasta was made on the spot by the same person who took my order and made my espresso. He was a very honest, hard worker who served customers while making the food and drinks from scratch. I watched him meticulously cleaning all the cooking equipment, espresso machine, countertops, surfaces, and cleaning the floors after serving his customers. I was very impressed by his work ethic and dedication. I tried the penne pasta with mushroom and sausage topped with Alfredo sauce. It came with garlic bread and salad. Their number one ordered meal. So good! The penne pasta with rossa sauce (rose sauce) came with chicken and mushrooms. I prefer the Alfredo sauce as it was rich creamy and delicious. However what made my experience a good one was the hospitality and attentiveness of the staff. In today's fast food world, good service warrants a higher star rating!
