I sometimes get motion sickness from being unable to navigate the place. Aside from needing a floor map a wonderful place to shop.

We have eaten at Ikea's throughout Europe and the US. While it was never great food, it was always constantly tasty. You could count on those meatballs almost anywhere. But something is deeply wrong with the Jacksonville location. The food cases are bare, the food lukewarm and visually just nasty. The meatballs tasted like, well they tasted of nothing, perhaps just a hint of dishwater. We used a "birthday". Coupon while here. It was good for one meatball plate and one desert, (your choice between 2 deserts) Unfortunately they were out of both deserts so my wife just skipped it. When we went to pay she gave the cashier the coupon and he said "you have to get the cake" she replied "You are out of both cakes" To which he insisted "you gave to get the cake"! No "Happy Birthday" no "sorry we are out of cake" Just remember if you come here, we warned you.........you have to get the cake! read more

Cool store, but checkout took 45 minutes, I came to get a few small items. It only took me 30 minutes to walk through the store. Need to open more registers or cashiers need to move a little faster. read more

I've waited up to 40 minutes on hold. when I got someone he transferred me again for 15 more minutes. when I got the person I needed she said she can't help and I would have to go to the store. The store is 75 miles from here and they do not have a phone number. Zero customer service, I was trying to buy in item and the web site would not work so I tried CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!!!!!! AHHHHH. Please, Kick these cheaters out of the country. I did buy a piece before (should have known better) and I needed another piece to make it work that the sales guy didn't mention. The piece, 3 weeks later, was not available. And has never been restocked 8 months later? Kick them out. read more

Who doesn't love IKEA? Budding Carpenters, DIY enthusiasts... Everything you need and want to pimp out your crib at reasonable prices. You could spend the day shopping or browsing. It's a great place to waste the day. Get your cheap eats on in the cafeteria or the snack bar. Ikea family members get free coffee/ tea and the espresso bar is kinda cool. My son loves those meatball plates. I kinda dig the vegetarian version myself with that curry sauce. IKEA has their loyal fans. I totally get it. Where else can you spend hours browsing and get some cheap eats? Yeah, you're gonna rethink your home decor or find something totally awesome to add to it. I've got my go to location down pat. I know where everything is and I can totally make a day of it. Compared to Jacksonville's newest IKEA... well, I feel a little less love here. I find the set up a bit funky and confusing. I'm not a fan of the one story set up and I feel like there's less here than the other locations. In the cafeteria, I am really getting a lot less variety than I would elsewhere. It also feels very cramped (not a feeling you'd normally get at IKEA.) I found that trying to navigate my way around, the walkways are not as spacious and it causes slowing down or a lot of zigzagging. I felt lost, I didn't see enough signage to get me where I needed to go. I wish they would have given Jax a typical two story structure not a mini version. I'm sure a lot of people will not agree with me. Visit a regular IKEA and you'll understand what I mean. You can seriously shop with hundreds of other people and feel like you have room to breathe. I find this store to be crowded and that's not typical. read more

This is hands down the best place to waste 45 minutes of your life. As you walk to the item pickup area you suddenly realize the lifeless look on everyones face. There is literally nothing happening. You can try asking what is going on, but it's no use. You're trapped. You've paid for your item and have no choice but wait. If I could give negative stars I would. Took a whole day to walk thru the entire store, beginning to end, to see everything and know what exactly is here and what this store has to offer. What a great day! Took about 3 hours. Half way point was the cafeteria like area with their delicious food! Nice pit stop before continuing on. All kinds of home furnishing, from kitchen, to children, to bedding, to furniture to doing a whole room. Great prices and some of the food items, in the cafeteria area, can be purchased at the end! And the food bought and brought home is good. Love this place!! read more

I was missing bolts from my bed frame so I called before coming in since I live 30+ minutes away. Worker on the phone told me they could provide me with the spare bolt or if they didn't have it, they could open a box and get the parts out. The worker in customer returns didn't have the spare part with him and told me that I can't actually get the bolt from another box and I'll have to wait 4-7 days before getting another shipped. I'm not going to have an empty bed frame sitting in my room while sleeping on a mattress when they could easily provide me with a spare bolt from a box like they told me previously. Then my other option was to spent $300+ on another frame, take the bolts out, then drive another 30 minutes back to them and return it. I think it's ridiculous that I have to spend $300 for a missing $3 piece. read more

Very honest review -Gave 2 stars due to 3 Major issues. ( been there 3 times) Traffic / Entrance / Everything is cone off to not available for parking spaces on the side of the building/back. Poor planning on the traffic / now til 2019 there are working on the I295 / Gateway road construction. Sunday afternoon wanted to eat and go through restaurant entrance and was told by a safety contractor employee to go through the only front entrance to enter the location. Again the food was not properly ready. My check out time took over an hour due to so many customers kept on asking the cashier if the price is right. They should hard print price on every box item so that a customer would not waste the cashier time that price on the floor is different than was advertised... Asked an employee if I could check out the grocery area, big mistake more customer there that wasted and stop the cashier to ring up items. Half of the customers took their time to pay/ looking through the purse to find credit card. In today world they should have a self-checkout / on-line fast pick up order within an hour. Asked 5 employee If they had item RYET E26 LED- THEY HAD NO IDEA / 1 EMPLOYEE JUST POINTED "OVER THERE" WALKED AWAY ... IKEA - organize the PARKING - Zone it for 30 minutes -1 hour - 2 hour - 5+hours parking across I295. I have seen more than 20 parking attendants doing nothing/ lots of parking spaces in every lane available? Tow the vehicles that take 2 parking spaces. You can validate customers on time limit parking by the receipt. Beware - if you park across the street -they will tow. IKEA PLAN 4 ENTRANCE - 2 EXITS. read more

Have gone several times to the new location in Jacksonville. Glad to have it here finally. Unfortunately it's a thumbs down compared to other IKEAs where I've shopped. In typical IKEA fashion, the showroom areas are interesting as well as the gadgets and stuff which are mostly reasonably priced. Unfortunately the layout feels awkward and disjointed compared to two-story IKEAs and the café sits in the middle of the store with no easy access. Overall I don't, even after repeat visits, find it easy to maneuver through the showroom and home organization areas. Even following the signage, it was easy to get lost in their maze. If you haven't ever assembled any furniture, be prepared to have a lot of time and patience as depending on the item, the picture instructions may not be adequate and it may take longer than you expect. We recently assembled a cabinet following the picture instructions but the design of our cabinet was different from the generic enclosed instructions and we had to take the cabinet back for assistance since we couldn't figure out how to disassemble the drawer (without inflicting damage) in order to correct the problem. The kitchen area staff figured it out even when the furniture assembly team couldn't. My real frustration, however, is with their stock. It is greatly lacking. At IKEA, for many pieces of furniture (shelves, cabinets, wardrobes, etc.), the parts come separately. If it's an item that the IKEA team orders for you, they will send you to the furniture pick up area to get your components. If it's a self-service item, once you know which aisles and bins the pieces are located in the warehouse area you go to find them and take them to check out. On the cabinet we recently purchased we couldn't get our first or even second choice in color or style on site because they are not stocked in the store. We were told that because it's a smaller store, they don't keep many of the items there and they have to come from the warehouse. Shipping cost for the items would have been almost if not more than the actual cost of the parts so we "opted" to go with our 3rd choice for the door and countertop style and color. The next item of furniture we purchased was shelving. This was a self-service item. All of the pieces come separately. Some but not all were in stock. So we purchased the available parts but will have to drive several hours to an out of town IKEA to pick up the others so we can move on with our project...OR wait until the stock at the store finally gets replenished (which looks like it won't be for at least 3-4 weeks based on the stock prognosis; although last time I checked they didn't have an available date so that doesn't look good). Ordering online for home delivery with this item is not an option at present since it's also out of stock. So who knows when we will be able to complete our project. The other shelf parts are lying around collecting dust and at risk for getting damaged in the meantime. This aspect of shopping at IKEA is frustrating and time consuming. Better go elsewhere for these items if you don't have time and patience to waste and want your projects to get completed on a more reliable timetable. From a customer standpoint, this aspect of their business management definitely needs improvement. read more

IKEA is amazing! I love their selections and prices. We bought our dining room table and a kitchen play set for our daughter. They're pretty easy to put together, and seem to be standing the test of time so far. The store itself is remarkably organized for being as big as it is, the staff has always been pretty helpful. I will say that it can be overwhelming because of how big it is, how much there is to see and there are usually a significant amount of people there. So if you struggle with anxiety, maybe don't go on a weekend. Overall I love Ikea. read more

This place is wow cool. The options are easily a 5 star. The size of the place is as close to massive as you could get. I have even built a 800,000 sq ft building. Ok we have visited the Orlando location and really like it. Now for the Jax location. I almost seemed like it went on for ever. I was one of the weirdest things in furniture buying in our house. We have a weird house we almost need two of everything 2 living rooms, 2 bedrooms, 2 offices, 1 dining room and then 3 kitchens. Thanks god we didn't need all that furniture tonight. But, we did go for and office and a living room. We found out new couch an chair in about 20 steps. So now we had to find a new hutch for this living room. So around the concrete paths we went. Searching for the arrows on the floor which guided our way through. We found our hutch (this is going to be a bitch to put together) that the wife wanted. I'm charging batteries while I type. This is where the whole experience went south. I mean freezing south. We stopped as instructed to the storage warehouse land section of this place. It is rows and rows a mile long and I swear I saw clouds near the top of the shelving units. Well we strolled the aisle and gathered our loot. Some of these boxes were heavy, They said that there would be folks to help us but we couldn't find them. So we loaded and we loaded and then we moved to go pay. The lady at the cash register was a smidgen pass Dumb A** no you can't do that. I'll pay for these parts later. No you can't do that. % minutes of no and you have to I got pissed. Not a good thing when you want my money. Ok lady I'll pay for the pillows too. So my plan was to pay for them separate and we would take them with us. But, her idea was you pay for everything now and then take that part home. I just saw this to be wrong. Ok now we haver to go over there on the Group W bench for home delivery. The Group W bench is where they take you when they want you to sit for a longtime. 1 guy is working the area. Now there were 12 people working the we take your money part. Now they have our money so they don't care any more about us. We sat here for about 45 minutes and remember me grumpy (i really don't do waiting well) till they pulled out couch n chairs, Now we were sent to the 1 guy to wait some more. This guy was still on the same guy for 1 1/2 hours now. That was it where is the return aisle. This stuff is going to back to the shelves. This is where a young lady tried to help us with our 2 carts of stuff about 20 pieces and a boatload of money. Ok so she overted the return aisle and now we wait for our stuff to arrive today between 5-8 pm. So I'm doing some jumping jacks and push ups to get in shape to put all of this stuff together. I have all of the screw guns ready, batteries charging. My hammer is in the ready if something doesn't fit just right. Now the wait is on. In closing I will have to admit that Ikea will never see me or my money again and I'm sure that goes for the 10+ folks that were there last night waiting and complaining also. read more

i used to shop at ikea in nj and orlando fl and as a resident of jacksonville i did welcome this new store. in the last 18 months i spent over $20 000 at ikea , so i care about how the store is managed. the store is well organized with a few shortcomings due to a poor management. the cafeteria should not have one lady serving the customers at noon,like this past sunday.the person in the charge of the cash register line should be fired for not responding to the lines build up.there are some employees that are outstanding and a few that need to step up and the manager should monitor this better.i believe that furniture quality could be better but everything else is great and the engineering design is outstanding. the ikea is a great asset to our city and i hope the leadership of ikea pays attention to how well the store is managed. eric bierman read more

I have driven from Tallahassee to purchase from ikea. If you buy the small stuff it's great but don't buy large! I purchased a dresser and the wrong slides for some other furniture are in the box. I've tried calling for three days now and all I get is "we are unable to take your call due to high volume". FOR THREE DAYS AT ALL DIFFERENT TIMES. I tried emailing and after two days no response. So I have a useless dresser and I'm 2 1/2 hours away from an idea with parts all over my living room. No customer service! read more

Worst store I've ever shopped at. When I go to a store to buy a light fixture, I don't want to have to visit literally every department in the store to get it. I want to go to lighting fixtures, get what I need and get out. I was there today for only the second time as they were supposed to be having a huge sale. I had nothing better to do so I followed the yellow brick road throughout the entire store and only found one small plastic bin that I wanted. I got to the checkout lines after going through the warehouse only to find that the checkout lines were incredibly long. When I say long I mean LONG. Probably about 100 feet with about 20 people in front of you in all 3 or 4 lines. I pushed my cart to the front, left it and was simply amazed that these people would be willing to wait in lines that long for the privilege of shopping at this incredibly dysfunctional store. I doubt very seriously I'll ever step foot in this store again. read more

The play area people seem to be looking for ways to not let children come in and play. My 2 almost 3 year old is fully potty trained and as I am trying to sign him in, they ask to measure him. The first women says I think he is there let me just ask someone else to look. An older women comes up (still both workers are behind the counter looking at him from an angle. The older women then says nope that's just his hair. He can't come in. All three of the workers were just standing around talking, Hardly any children in the facility. It seems to me they just didn't want to accept more children and actually work! We are talking (hairs) people! Also the women would not even wait to let me place my child's feet up against the wall before she denied his entry! Ridiculous! I am extremely disappointed in the people that are supposed to be doing a service to help customers, instead they are trying to find any way not to help! read more

Great store. This was our first time visiting IKEA. The staff was especially helpful. The store was easy to navigate and we found several interesting products and ate in the restaurant which was fine. My only complaint is the music is irritatingly loud. Next time I will wear ear plugs. read more

Zero stars for delivery and customer service. I purchased a mattress and two other small items to be delivered next day between 5-9pm. My delivery never came- did not receive a call or email. I had to call the 1-888-888-4532, and wait 90 minutes to speak with a representative. Poor system flow, very disappointed, and wasted my time. read more

Bad business practices galore. Purchase a 400.00 oppland bed at the jacksonville florida IKEA. Purchased bed, then the store gets evacuated from an employee of the store seeing a package of ikea cookware in the parking lot and thinking it's a bomb. So at this point IKEA has my money, and I have no bed. Go up the next day to try and get my bed from Ikea that i've already paid for. Ikea sends me around the store for nearly 2 hours until they honor my purchase and finally give me the bed. I get the bed home having to rent a truck for the second day in a row. Return the truck and head home to install the bed. Find out the bed is the incorrect color. At this point i'm beyond frustrated and say whatever to the color and try to put the thing together. Well the pieces are faulty and badly made and the bed is not able to be installed fundamentally safe. Call Ikea customer support, get informed I can pay them MORE money to have the "correct" parts sent out, I inform them i'm not happy with this and I'm not renting a truck to once again bring the thing back to Ikea. Ikea informs me it can have people come pick up the bed, but I must be present during their all day window. So i'm out having a bed, have to pay more money to get the thing back to the store. Love Ikea! Love their little food area and the food they offer. The daime cake is delicious, but if you have a nut allergy I'd stay away. It has almonds underneath the chocolate. They have vegetarian options, including vegetable meatballs that are pretty delicious. read more
