    Veggie dog for one
    Stephanie G.

For a quick and cheap snack, the Ikea cafe (the one selling the snack items - coffee, pop, frozen yogurt, cinnamon buns etc) was always a no-brainer place to stop if I was in the area for a $1 frozen yogurt or $0.75 hotdog (used to be $0.50!!). Recently they've introduced a veggie dog and I decided to give it a try. It wasn't a tofu or hotdog look-alike kind of veggie dog but was actually a mix of lentils, quinoa and vegetables. It was dressed with pickled cabbage, a sweet mustard and fried onion bits which is something like you would get at a fancy hot dog stand! For the same price as a regular hot dog, I don't mind the veggie version. I really only wanted to highlight the veggie dog from here and I'm interested in trying the other newer veggie options in the Ikea restaurant (the eatery in Ikea that serves the meals).

    I'm not above it!

For what it is, yep, 5 stars. Cafeteria style meal before I go into the maze that is Ikea. Meatballs all the way. Pair that with a glass of red, and you're all set for some home decorating and spending way more than what you were budgeting for. Love it.

Here for the food. The food court is nice and big and the food is always good and super cheap too. Highly recommend it.

Great place for drinks and hanging out with friends! Really fun, older vibe. The people we sat by…read morewere all really nice and even offered us their pool table that they had paid for but didn't end up using. There's free parking outside, just register your license plate when you enter the building. I went with 2 other friends on a Saturday night. The place was pretty full but we got lucky and only had wait a few minutes for a table. It was decently loud inside but it was still easy to have a conversation. The waitress we got was super friendly and knowledgeable about the menu items. I'm also super envious of her memory because there's no way I can remember who had which drink without writing it down for so many tables throughout the night!!! My friend also asked for a drink recommendation for the last round and she gave a great one. There's a lot of selection for drinks, as well as food. I really like their shared plates of finger food like tater tots and onion rings. My fish and chips were also very good. The table beside us ordered nachos and it looked huge and very delicious.

Aside from the time warp location, the food is easily 4*s, and honestly, I'd say it's better than White Spot as a comparable. The clubhouse sandwich contained actual turkey breast, not the deli turkey breast slices a lot of places use. That's an easy win right there. Very reasonable pricing to boot! It's basically a sports bar/pub grub menu set up. Pool tables as well. Lighting is on the darker side, with friendly and courteous service. They chat with you since they're curious as to how you know about the place. It's definitely not on too many peoples' radar for sure. They seem to like their hockey, as there are a couple of jerseys hanging. Guy Lafleur, Paul Henderson's autographed jersey from the Summit Series 1972, and a couple of others. Located in the basement of the Lougheed Village Mall, which is literally the Land that Time Forgot. I'm not exaggerating. Come and have a look for yourself. Free validated parking if you eat here. Recommend that you go for a stroll in the upper and lower levels and the courtyard whilst you're here. Maybe come in the evening during Halloween. You won't need to spook yourself out at a graveyard. This mall will suffice you plenty.
