I was, of course, immediately drawn to the sale rack of clothing right in front of their storefront. It was full of light, modern styles including a lot of sleeveless items (yay summer). The store also carries shoes, kids' items, a few home decor items, and boasts Scandinavian baked goods too! It's tiny, and the prices are a little on the high end, but Scandi fits in perfectly with the Fairhaven vibe.

The issue is, they are charging an additional delivery fee of another $250.00 for the love seat when it arrives in June. We have paid for all items, including the love seat that we are patiently waiting for. This additional delivery charge should absolutely be removed from the customer and be delivered free of charge as it is no fault of us, the customer. Scan designs should be thankful customers are patient and pay ahead of time for items they cannot provide at the time of purchase, not charge additional delivery fees. .No return phone calls when we have inquired about this unfair charge .

Value: Competitive prices and intelligent design for the majority of the furniture items. Things get a bit annoying after you order, because of the poor follow up. It takes longtime to get an item from overseas, and even tough there is a promise at ordering that you would be informed about each stage of the delivery, that only happens when you call the store. Once my item was ready for delivery, it came wrapped in a clear plastic, (no box, provided it comes overseas and I wonder how it made it thrugh ships), with no label, in the wrong color. Noticing this, I first told the delivery team, who insured me that the color looked different because the showroom had different lighting. Fair enough, but when you order a white thing, getting black is not about lighting. The clear plastic wrap did not have any label to be presented to me. When I called the store, the "solutions" were not at the table - I got offered to go get the samples and take hole (to what with them, not sure). When I asked if anyone can come with the samples and compare the color, they explained that they are short staffed and no one drives to work (?), interesting, where is the manager, really? So, still waiting for a solution as to how to get the item I ordered, paid for, and waited for over 4 moths just to find out that what they delivered is not what I ordered. Their "make believe" is falling apart, this is not how you attract customers, in fact, the whole way this order has been handled, is not acceptable.

I did a search on Google and discovered that the gravy for IKEA's poutine is vegetarian so I might try ordering the poutine myself next time. Although...truth be told, it wasn't the most appetizing looking gravy so...maybe not. Cilantro...my mortal enemy. There was cilantro in the couscous that came with my falafel balls. the falafel balls were just OK. Nothing to write home about. The couscous probably would have been decent if there hadn't been any cilantro in it. Uggghhh...why would anyone put cilantro in couscous? Why would anyone put cilantro in anything for that matter? (That second question is coming from the cilantro hater in me) The frozen yogurt and plant based ice cream were the highlights in my opinion. Daughter was satisfied with her poutine though and I heard no complaints about the garlic bread so...OK rating but if I were judging on my own personal meal (which I really really didn't like because of the cilantro), this would be a lower rating.

Wooden slats popping out, small supports bending, LARGE supports rapidly bending when somebody under 200lbs tries to step onto the bed. *HUGE* waste of money. Besides this bedframe that managed to break after 4 months, curtain rods and drapes that I also bought there are of minimal quality and barely functional.

I learned this was the last of the Swedish Thursdays for the summer and that they had changed up their menu since my last visit over a year ago. The fish n chips have been replaced with cod balls and chips and they added falafel balls with couscous. The line up for this promotion was very long circling all the way around to the stairs but they managed it well. We opted for three items: the meatballs, the falafel balls and the cod balls. The presentation of each was great, especially the falafel balls and couscous. I was not a fan of the cod balls. The star of the meals was the falafel...tasted great with the couscous and garlic aioli. It was a positive food experience.

Wow, what a cool little shop! Full of all things vintage and beautiful, it was one of our first…read morestops on a recent RETURN TO VANCOUVER trip (woot woot!) and what a fun stop it was. With a staff fully comprised of dedicated volunteers, and a carefully curated inventory often donated by hospice recipients, there are definite treasures to be discovered here. The shop doesn't carry clothing (there's a HOB store just for that, a few miles away) but they do carry everything else. Kitchen items, decor, small furniture, craft items, books, and general bric-a-brac are waiting to be found here. They also have an impressive selection of antiques and vintage items, and I found their prices to be very reasonable although definitely higher than your typical thrift shop. I was also impressed that HOB Too is so used to serving their regular customers, they immediately recognized me as a new customer! One of the volunteers on duty that day even came over to say hi, introduce herself, and see what I thought of the shop. We ended up talking for several minutes. It was a really special experience for me, getting to learn more about the shop and their dedication to raising money for Hospice while serving the vintage/thrift community. This is truly a cool place and I will 100% be back!
