Sauce was bit spicy, but flavourful. Rice and naan bread were good as well. Cod fritters were fresh and tasty. Salmon fillet with potatoes wasn't bad at all. My favourite had to be chicken balls. I came by for half price deal for main dish at restaurant. However, two items were not avairable. It was about 4pm and not crowded yet. So I was shocked about their mind set...they set the deal on specific day but can't provide for the customer. I tried their new menu, chicken balls. It's basically Butter chicken curry with chicken balls and rice/naan. It has nice heat and delicious than I expected. It's sad they will end this deal next week. read more

When you think of ikea and food, meatballs and salmon and lingonberry come to mind. There are days when I just want the meaty meatballs smeared with the sweet sour lingonberry sauce. It is such perfect pairing. I can do without the peas though. The salmon can be hit and miss. Sometimes it is dry and hard. Other times it's tender and melts in your mouth. I have taken to coming here for breakfast when in the area. It has one of the cheapest or most value for money breakfast. $3.99-$5.99 for pancakes, eggs and sausage and bacon. You really can't beat that. The quality is not gourmet but it's ok for that price. Add the free coffee or tea for being an IKEA friend member. The restaurant area is quite big here. I find it easier to get a table at this location than the Coquitlam one. Currently they are doing a 50% off select entrees on Thursday for IKEA members till May 7, 2026. Swedish Thursdays are back at Ikea. For a limited time (not sure when the promotion ends) entrees are 50% off for lunch and dinner. Shared the meatballs (with mashed potatoes, peas and gravy) and also the salmon (with roasted potatoes, a kale salad and peas). The presentation of the salmon was impressive. I did like the pesto sauce they used on the potatoes but found the hollandaise sauce lacked taste and the salmon a wee bit overcooked. But hard to go wrong at $9 for both meals. Understanding this is a very popular event and the lunch service starts at 11 am, so highly recommend coming at least 10 minutes before the service starts or 20 minutes after to avoid the line ups. Visited Ikea in-store this week and immediately noticed that all of the reviews online saying there has been a dramatic decline in quality could not be more true. Wish I had done that before trying to shop online, which led to Ikea charging me $947.92 for an order they claim never existed despite having sent me a confirmation email and processing the charge on my card. I will certainly update this review if the issue is ever resolved, but the prospects of that look bleak. Ikea has repeatedly indicated that they are unable to help, and that "it is possible for a transaction to be missed by the system due to a technical issue", which is absurd, but what's worse was their pathetic responses and inability to keep track of the cases supposedly created to investigate it. I was repeatedly assured that a case had been opened, only for the next representative to tell me it had been lost to the same black hole as my order. Poof Details below. On June 12th, I placed an order through the IKEA iOS app, received a confirmation email, and was charged $947.92. However, the order never appeared in my account and could not be tracked using the order# provided in the confirmation email. I was stressed about this and my move to a new and unfurnished home, so I spent hours of trying to contact Ikea only to have a representative finally grace me with their presence to advise that IKEA had no record of the order despite the confirmation email and processed charge. They said that they would open a case about it and it would be looked into within 24-48 hours. Spoiler, that did not happen. On June 13th, I reached out because I had noticed the charge had been processed. They offered to open a case, to which I let them know that a case had been created by the agent I had chatted with the previous day. I was then informed that a case had not been created, and that they would create one.. I asked for a confirmation email and was told they can't provide that, and I can sure see why because over the following week, I spent hours and hours and hours repeating this exact process on loop, reaching out for an update only to be to repeating all of the same information over and over again, and multiple representatives assured me that cases had been created, only for the subsequent representatives to claim they could not locate those cases. Not a single one of the case numbers provided to me were ever traceable through IKEA's system at any point. June 14th. No update. June 15th. My move-in date. The charge is still on my card. I reach out to Ikea and go through the same loop of asking for an update on my case and being told that there isn't a case but that they would create one. And of course, the order still doesn't show up when I try tracking it. June 16th was my scheduled delivery date. I reach out to Ikea, same loop as above. June 17th, I begin the dispute and chargeback process with Amex and request them to open a fraud investigation. On June 18th, I reached out for an update, and like clockwork, the IKEA representative said "it happens rarely, but it is possible for a transaction to be missed by the system due to a technical issue.", right.. except the transaction wasn't missed, I was charged. I've since found several people online referencing having experienced this exact situation with Ikea and it never being resolved by them. What's particularly ironic is that I visited the IKEA store in Richmond this week and saw that the countless reviews describing a mammoth dip in quality were not exaggerating whatsoever, drop-shipped particleboard galore. So that's another reason to never shop online at Ikea, or shop at Ikea at all. As of June 19th, IKEA has made no meaningful effort to correct this. read more

My family has been to IKEA many times for meals. While the food is mediocre at best, now that I have a toddler, IKEA is certainly one of the places where some of us can eat and while another member supervises her in one of the kids play areas. Our usual go-to food items are the smoked salmon that's in the fridge. It's at $4.99 a plate and it is delicious, particularly with the dill sauce. The mushroom soup and the swedish meatballs are also good. The rest of the food selection was mediocre, and either too bland or too salty. If you have the IKEA membership, you can get a coffee and it's unlimited refills! IKEA market hall is an excellent place to hang out for a long duration of time. With the free beverage refills and affordable food items, you can basically be there for breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner. The bonus is that no one demands tips from you. In today's economy, what more can you ask for? read more

I like it! For the price - the quantity is decent and the flavours are pretty consistent. I really like the Chicken balls which has a nice spice and the free coffee for IKEA family members (a free membership) is great. Kids also get to eat free on Wednesdays so that helps us save money for the toys I end up buying next to the restaurant. read more

IKEA has this deal right now where IKEA Family members can get 50% off select main dishes at lunch or dinner, from Mon - Fri., after 11am. We went to take advantage of this deal. There were only 3 dishes offered for this deal. Meatball, Plantballs, or Haddock & Fries. All 3 of us opted for the Haddock & Fries. Hubby said he'd tried the Plantballs before and they weren't very good. I really wish they would offer the Veggie Balls for this deal. In fact, I'd like to just see the Veggie Balls on the menu, even at regular price as I'm curious about them. I'm not a huge fan of plant based foods that try to imitate the taste and texture of meat. I prefer stuff that's just made of veggies and tastes good. The Haddock & Fries was an incredibly greasy meal. I mean, Fish & Chips is always going to be a greasy meal but this was just a little too much grease. My daughter and I tend to be quite sensitive to grease. Towards the end of the meal, my daughter started to complain that she felt a bit sick to the stomach. That tends to happen when she eats food that's too greasy. I had thought about taking some napkins and blotting some of the grease before eating. Really wished I had followed up on the idea. It's a furniture store and they're really known more for their furniture than their food so...guess I can't come down too hard on them. Don't really recommend this place unless you're looking for a cheap meal. I do enjoy their $1 veggie dogs. Never had them at this location but I imagine they would be of the same standard as the other location I had them at. read more

I ordered two Deluxe breakfast for my wife and me. It consisted of 3 mini pancakes, 3 strips of bacon, 2 sausages, lots of scrambled eggs and mini hash brown potatoes. It also comes with coffee. The coffee is free as long as you have an IKEA membership. It was simply delicious. My wife approves and so do I. Finally a positive review for once in a long time. read more

The restaurant at IKEA Richmond is wonderful!! They have a nice open dining room, with lots of seating options. The service is quite fast, so don't fear if you see a line! They have a few vegetarian and vegan options, and all of them are delicious. Is it at the same level as other restaurants... no... but considering it's a restaurant within a mega store, it's very delicious! Definitely recommend if you're in the area and hungry. read more
