vegetable somosas

It's a ikea, I did find that some items like shelving units that were long since discontinued in the USA is still being sold here in canada. Obviously the food court had items that were not available yet in the US like samosa's, too bad because they need to take queue from tj's which sells alot of their frozen samosas. There are some differences but not too noticeably different from any ikea.

My oh my. I had never been in an ikea before today and boy was I ever missing out on the essence of life. I got the kids meal Swedish meatballs because I wasn't super hungry and oh man was it orgasmic. They make that beautiful presentation right in front of you as well absolutely amazing and for just 5 dollars you cannot beat IKEA.

Ikea is great when you are looking for something that is not too pricy but average good quality items. The only complain I have here is the layout. The way the store is laid out, they basically forces people to walk around the entire store. Parking is not bad at this location. It is less crazy compared to the Richmond location. I have a feeling that this Ikea is bigger than the Richmond location or maybe it just has much more better selections. I dropped by the pick up some plates and hot pads for my belated Canadian Thanksgiving dinner. Paid $0.99 per plate and the hot pad for 3 for $3.99. That is not bad. We will be shopping here again very soon.

Majority of this review will be based on the restaurant as that has the biggest room for growth given the companies lack of care for it and it's staff. on a Friday night during dinner time (600-730) the restaurant was PACKED. there was a line up to the stairs heading down to the market. We've been when it's been busy before (I mean when it isn't) but the problem seemed to be lack of staff. With that being said - the staff were very kind and courteous it just seemed severely under staffed (I appreciate there is a shortage so this is said lightly). The food was good and the poutine was delicious. They only had one cashier on and there were a couple people asking for a refund (me included) to which she told us that there wasn't one on duty and she was trying to get a hold of one. Aside from waiting - we went to grab a drink since we bought a glass - unfortunately the one drink dispenser that everyone was hounded around was broken/no syrup and only water was available. In my opinion this wasn't well maintained as there were many customers upset about it, and a lot of stand around staff not doing much to address this. So much to the point the one cashier had to go to the back to tell someone to add syrup. While we were told it would take a minute - in the half hour I was there nothing was done. I don't blame her because again she was the only one working the till, I blame management for their poor planning and staffing. The manager that finally did come upstairs to process 5 refunds looked like she was off shift and just in the neighbourhood as she came in regular clothes, in a rush, didn't address anyone and had her two kids with her. The store itself was clean and filled with lots of eager customers or window shoppers. There were some staff available but not necessarily readily available. With that being said, we had shopped on our own and didn't require help so assistance wasn't needed on our end - this was just a mere observation of those around us.

Most of the time I always find something new.Love the restaurant as well - I would love to see more local food - I would still recommend this place to everyone.

Oh IKEA! You practical old thang!! Love everything about this place!! It gives me sooo many good ideas about how I picture my bedroom, bathroom, living room, kitchen, etc. I mean I love designing my own space! This is so perfect for me! I love that they have every furniture available in the entire universe AND for better pricing than anywhere else. IKEA is great for practicality and idea-searching. I don't even mind putting the furniture together. I don't even consider myself a handywoman but assembling furniture with visuals can be fun. Just have coffee. Every single person who can speak any or all the languages in the face of the Earth won't require that skill to build a cabinet. Returns and exchange policy is amazing. It's ok to change your mind. It's ok if you bought the wrong colour. You can come back and receive a refund. Will come back again.

About to try some new food from the IKEA Foodbox!

This review is specifically for the vegan burger sold at the IKEA Foodbox. I dropped by the Foodbox truck 10 mins before they closed, eager to try the vegan burger that I had heard so much about. I ordered it with cheese (not 100% sure if the cheese is vegan), and it was made very quickly. The patty itself wasn't that bad! Good flavour and texture but not as hot as I would've liked. It didn't taste like beef which I wasn't expecting anyway. The bun was straight up cold and the cheese wasn't fully melted because of the lack of heat. The veggies were super fresh and crispy though! I want to come back and try this burger again during a better time because I'm not sure if I just came at a bad time since they were about to close the truck up.

Absolute classic! Can't EVER go wrong with the IKEA Swedish meatballs! Hot tip, if you like the meatballs as much as we do, make sure to grab some frozen ones downstairs!

For furniture, come on ahead, there have tons, and tons of furniture, and other items you may be looking for, like cutlery, plants, paintings, and food, yes, I am here to write about the restaurant upstairs. If your looking for a cheap solution to your breakfast, lunch or dinner, and you have to go out, and maybe you have one of these around your corner, come in, and you will be surprised at the selection of dishes they have for very affordable prices. The restaurant area is set up like a cafeteria, you pick your food, get your food on a trey, pay the cashier, find your seat, and eat. On a sign, it reads, they keep there low prices as you clean up your own mess at where you sit. So after your done, please put your tray in the rollers provided. On this day I had the pasta special, which was vegetarian tomato sauce, and noodles for $1.99, and I added meatballs to it, which was $1.49, and also a piece of garlic bread $0.49. It was filling, and I was stuffed. They have other specials too, like $1 breakfast, and many kids meals, too much to name, but definately worth the eat. If you go to the downstairs market area, they also have 50 cent hotdogs, they aren't big, but at that price, it really doesn't matter.

Well first, they had exactly what I was looking for. Thank you IKEA :) It's impressive to me, how the bug stores are stepping up their game to stay relevant. The cafeteria section of the store, opens 1/2 hour early and serves a value priced breakfast, within a very clean and modern setting. The bathroom was meticulously clean and offer dyson hand dryers. The store even has courtesy phones, lockers and diapers for customer use. Overall I don't feel as though IKEA is keeping up with the Jones, I think the Jones maybe trying to keep up with them.

Haddock. Is that Swedish for dry, tasteless aquatic organism?

I rarely leave reviews, but my experience with this company was so frustrating and time-wasting…read morethat I feel obligated to warn others. We ordered three walk-in closet systems. One of the boxes arrived completely destroyed and contained random parts from three different systems. We contacted customer service immediately and made multiple calls over the span of two months -- often waiting on hold for hours -- and were repeatedly assured the issue would be resolved. After all that wasted time and effort, we were told that the only option was to disassemble everything and return the items for a refund -- as if they were doing us a favor. By that point, the units were partially assembled and the boxes were long gone, which any reasonable customer would expect not to need anymore. They refused to reimburse us for the packaging or offer any alternative solution. Given the amount of time we already spent trying to resolve this issue, the company should have issued a full refund without requiring further inconvenience. Instead, they asked us to spend even more time disassembling the product and arranging shipment, which shows a complete lack of respect for their customers' time and effort. Disorganized, unprofessional, and dishonest. Stay far away from this company.

Ming Wo Cookware - Nordic Ware burner plate 'in place' - it works!!

You can score decent priced kitchen stuff and flatware when they are on sale or promotions…read more You can also get Chinese soup spoons and bowls with the typical blue dragon design. They also stock plain white spoons and bowls and saucers too. They also carry brands not found in the usual departmental stores or Walmart, so it is a good place to browse and see what will catch your fancy. I managed to get some good quality loose cutlery at about $1-2 each which is way better than those I saw in Walmart and cheaper than The Bay. I will definitely pop by again when I am in the area. A good place to find kitchen items when you are setting up a new home.

And I have been doing so at their Lougheed Town Centre store locations since I moved into this area of Burnaby, back in 1995. Their current store is bright, well-stocked and laid-out, and bigger than the one at their previous location in the Mall. And as always, I find the staff helpful, informative, and do their best to answer questions, and assist with one's purchasing decisions. I often get the urge to try some new-to-me 'cooking things' in the kitchen (in an attempt to escape 'boredom' of the same old, same old, and etc.), and so much-appreciate how Ming Wo brings in products to "tease" one to try them!! Most-recently, for me, that has been two pieces of Emile Henry 'Flame' cookware (first a tagine, and then a large casserole dish). With the Christmas holidays on the way, I'll bet there will be a visit or two to Ming Wo's for some gift ideas, and something new for our kitchen too!!
