Omg, listen to the reviews here. If you are going to Ikea for delivery or pick and delivery please save yourselves the aggravation and DO NOT GO. Go somewhere else, anywhere, just don't go here.
I was there Wednesday evening, I made sure the items I wanted was available in store (using the online inventory checker thing) and even printed out the sheet for them. I got to the store, walked almost the entire length looking for someone to point me in the direction of the pick and delivery customer service. And was told that it was all the way in the front of the store, where that @#@$@ employee acted like she knew nothing when I asked.
Fine, I walked all they way there and waited 20 mins (there was only 1 other person) and then I was told that NOTHING was in stock on my list. (Great inventory checker, NOT) Fine, I picked items that they said were available in store, went back to the P&D line, waited another 20 mins (this time there was no one in front of us!) and was told that the items that the sales person said was in stock was in fact, not in stock. (yes, I should have gave up by this point, but I took time off from work and I was determined to get a bed).
So, again I went to choose my items, and waited in line again, this time there were 4 people in front of me, at this point, I was so pissed I didn't bother to time the wait. Finally, all the items we wanted were in stock, she printed out a sheet and told us to go pay at the cashier. She booked us for a delivery the next day at 5pm and I thought, wow, what luck! Next day, Fantastic.
So I walked through the whole dang store again to get to the cashier, and I kid you not, the lines look about a 1/4 mile long @@. But that was alright because I have a delivery schedule for the next day at 5pm. After what seemed like hours, I finally went to pay. The cashier told me to go to P&D and to schedule delivery and pick the items @@. Hell no, after 5 minutes of arguing back and forth with her she finally agreed that she was supposed to scan the paper that I gave her from P&D. So, the items were paid for. I asked her if there was anything else I should do? Confirm it, take the receipt back to P&D? She said she doesn't know, thankfully someone else told us that once you paid, it's in the system and it's good to go.
Okay, as you may have guessed, the items were not delivered the next day as promised. I received a call from Ikea at 545pm that my shipment was delayed because they couldn't find the $3 curtain rings (are you freaking kidding me??????). They held up my bed delivery for a THAT?? Couldn't they called to see if I wanted they damn things at a later date? Issue a refund?? The CS said she will refund me the price of the rings in the form of a gift card (oh, f-king great) and reschedule the delivery to the next day at 11-3pm (how lucky am I? Another next day delivery). I was naive and believed them.
Next day (today, 8/29/14) I left work at noon (my husband was working from home) and waited for them. And waited and waited. Called them at 300pm, was hung up on a few times, finally spoke to someone at 330. He told me to call the shipping company since it was supposed to be delivered by 3pm according to his records. Called the shipping company Urban Express and was told that IKEA never gave them the package. What? Excuse me? Ummm what??? I was told to call Ikea, oh, alright.
An hour later, yes, an hour, I spoke to a Donna (i don't think it's her real name) who didn't seem to believe me that the items were not picked up by the delivery truck. Umm, !#!#!@, I don't have the !#!#! crap, I asked her to call the delivery company and speak to a David. She called and they told her the same thing but then told me she doesn't know because no one in the warehouse in Ikea is picking up the phone @@. So she said she rescheduled it for delivery for next Tuesday, ummm, ok, you're scheduling something for delivery that you don't even know you still have.
I hate to say I gave them another chance. But what can I do? I don't have the energy and time to go look for something else. I'll have to find strength to go there again. THANKS IKEA for one of the most horrible experiences EVER. This ranks up there with having cancer. If I wasn't so dang weak at the moment I'll demand a refund and go elsewhere. But by next Tuesday, I would have enough strength and if it's not here, ah well, I will find a way to go elsewhere. read more
