I really liked it here. They have so much really nice stuff and for a pretty decent price as well. I like how they made displays of everything like bedrooms and such to see how some stuff would look. They have a cafe on the second floor and a kids area I guess you can drop off while you shop in the first floor. The cool thing is you can pick up yourself the boxes of what furniture you want. This is a great store if you're looking for cheap furniture. And buy cheap I mean both in terms of price and quality they do have a very modern taste to their furniture that is your style expirations the store layout is one of the worst parts about IKEA. When I was there last Tuesday it took me almost 10 minutes to get to where I need to go to find just one product. They also have an issue with personnel. It seems like it is always possible to find someone with however we still ended up buying a couch with a pull out bed. This is my favorite Ikea! At least as far as the Illinois Ikea comparison goes. This location is a tad smaller than the Schaumburg location, but everything I have ever wanted has been in-stock and available. It's less crowded, believe it or not. AND! They actually let you bring your merchandise to your car with your cart. At the Schaumburg location you have to pull your car up to the loading area because they wont let you take your cart out of that area. What the heck man? I don't want to have to pull my car around to load a million picture frames that aren't even large or heavy, just too many to carry in my arms. Dumb! 99% of my household inventory is from Ikea and I have never purchased something I've regret. My Karlstad sofa/chase combo and Lillesand bedframe are two of my favorite purchases. I also own a large fortune of picture frames. Everything at Ikea is so affordable and practical. I love that my sofa has removable covers that I can wash or replace. They also have some pretty good deals if you pay attention. When I bought my sofa I got 15% of my purchase back on a gift card (hey, it was like $150 of free money!), they often have an eat for free deal (you spend $100 and they'd deduct your lunch from your total bill. The workers at this ikea are not helpful and extremely lazy. I came to ikea alone and needed help loading the furniture into my truck. They tell you to pull your truck up and someone will help. There was no employees even in the loading area to begin with. After pulling my truck up, I had to go inside and ask multiple times for them to send someone out to help load the furniture that was way too heavy for me. The workers are lazy and extremely unprofessional! They might as well close this store down. I will not be returning! read more

Shopping at IKEA is always a pleasant experience. It's like going to the amusement park and around each turn is a new adventure. Came in to pick up a couple items. Next thing I know I had the kitchen sink. Letting my seats down to make room. They have decent vegan hotdogs also and one dollar ice cream. I wasn't pleased with the return policy so look out there ended up with a store credit. This is the worst company ever. We ordered couches and waited for a month while they promised us to deliver them within three days. We called multiple times and talk to several people but no one could tell us the real story. We even had to go to the store and drive back-and-forth with three children for over two hours. They promised us that they would re-deliver the furniture and their own customer service even acknowledge the issues but yet they never delivered them. They have the worst customer service on the planet. These people are liars and only take your money. Would never buy from them. Be careful when you purchase any type of furniture from them because they will not deliver it to your home. They also held onto our money and didn't refund it. I would never run a business like this. I should have written this review when I was a student but just felt like writing. Common who doesn't like cheap furniture when you know you will move from your house / apt every 2 years. Some of their items are made of quality wood but so-so. Most of the furniture in my house comes from IKEA. Some are great other are ok. I have a bed frame from IKEA which has moved through 5 different places ( means assembled and dis-assembled) 5 times and its still in good shape. But if you want good dressers please don't get them here, if you end up getting it here then make sure you only use them for undergarments and other light stuff and DONOT place anything heavy on top of the dressers. Another reason i like IKEA is cause I get ideas from there for home decor and it would be hard not to mention their cafeteria. They have free coffee for ikea family members and real cheap food. You can have a decent breakfast for $2.00, yes that's right. And when you are waiting in line to pay for your purchases you can go and grab a fat free yogurt cone for a $1.00 and I don't think you can beat that price. Easy In Easy Out. This IKEA had ample parking, It was breeze to park and walk in. There are two stories of items to peruse. Sometimes the employees are uber helpful while others don't come across as eager to help. I ended up buying more thank I anticipated....glad we had a car. They sell handles bags that help out for all of those items you did not expect to be leaving with. This store seems a little smaller than the others I have been too but they have all of the items you could ever wish for. Don't bike here....find a friend with a car! read more

Don't ever return anything and try and get a refund- it's a full time job. If you call 888-888-4532 either all the circuits are busy or there is a wait time of over 45 minutes. How do I know this? If your going here with a list and a plan, prepare for it to be an all day ordeal. Store in middle of remodeling. Nothing is where it should be. Tons of out of stocks. Things showing in stock were not there and vice versa. My first experience at IKEA did not disappoint! Everything looked so nice on display, but it was definitely overwhelming. I felt that a lot of the things were priced were either on the higher end or on the lower end. Not a lot of in between prices. I had the impression that IKEA was very expensive, but I bought quite a bit that were on the cheaper end that I use daily! I think you just have to be smart on what things to buy at IKEA. Staff here is lazy and awful. Just got done with a large purchase and the check out lady rolled her eyes and tapped her foot while I loaded everything on myself. As the other checkout lady sat on her phone with a long line. I asked someone to help me load stuff in my car and my question wasn't even acknowledged. I was at the very last register today. Ordered glass bowls on-line 9/9/20. Delivery date was to be by 9/26/20. Paid an additional delivery charge to have them shipped just because they weren't available close by. Was charged on 9/10/20 for the order. Have not received the bowls. The status has not changed for the picking of the bowls although they were in stock on-line when I ordered them (& still appear to be in stock). Ikea is NOT taking phone calls. What trip to Chicago would be complete without IKEA. In all honesty the furniture at IKEA is cheaper quality, however its design is amazing. Even if I do not buy anything I love walking around the store as it gives you some amazing ideas. This store has always been clean and organized, so I have no real complaints. The layout is somewhat confusing however it is like that at all stores. Their goal isn't to have you walk in for one item and walk out, they want you to walk by all their products just incase something else catches your eye. Odds are you will leave with more than you intended on buying. Plan on spending about 1-2 hours here if you have never been before, but you can always stop off for lunch inside the store while shopping. read more

Really overcrowded today. Despite the appearance of a line outside, they were letting too many people in and not enough people out. I only waited 1 minute in line. Once inside the store, it was people on top of each other and no one to help or keep people moving. Tried to locate a salesperson and only one and there was a line of four people waiting for her. And no social distancing whatsoever. Once I made it to the check out lines, the lines were backed up to the back of the store. I just left my cart and walked out. I gave up. The worst store to go to. I only needed to buy a couple of items and wanted to just go in and out. The layout of the store FORCES you to go through every department! I was trying to meet up with my husband, but he was on the first floor and the item that I needed was on the 2nd floor. I love this place! It's gigantic and full of fun little sets. It's kind of like an adult playground/maze. If you get tired midway through, there is a cafeteria near the end. There are a ton of checkouts and loading areas, so I've never had a problem getting out. read more

Ive always had a great experience, each time I've been to this location. I actually purchased my entire kitchen cabinet configuration there and the designers were incredible. All was well, until I met an extremely rude individual by the name of Isiah, when trying to exchange a defective item. He was not helpful, didn't want to make the exchange and even had an attitude about it. I hope they catch up with him and either fix his attitude or get rid of him, altogether. I think my tastes have much improved and my expectations greater since my college days. I haven't bought Ikea furniture in almost 10 years and went back for the first time recently. I was excited and hoped to get some inspiration in home design for my new house. The furniture looks so cheap and flimsy. I wasn't wow'd by anything really. I mean yea, there are some really good deals like for candles and drinking straws and lights... but in terms of actual furniture? It's a no for me. Also, I got really dizzy and claustrophobic going around this Ikea. I wanted to GTFO because I started having a headache and it seemed like it took forever before I was able to find the exit. So very disappointed with the lack of follow through on my kitchen order. I understand that with Covid 19 we all face challenges, however, my experience is inexcusable. We had an order delivery delay that we were not notified about. The delay was reported to the team at the ikea store who were then supposed to manually email me about the delay. They did not. We could have worked around this delay had we been notified. Now, our project is pushed back for two more weeks which has a direct impact on the work crew that is managing our remodel. This is the third snag we have hit with this ikea location on this project. I highly recommend going through ikea Schaumburg for any large kitchen remodeling project you may be considering. read more

Apparently, the IKEA in Bolingbrook,Illinois doesn't check their returns to make sure they are not altered, damage or missing pieces before putting them back on the market to sell. I bought two Knoxhult kitchen corner base cabinets and the countertop on one of them was altered by the person who returned it before me or by the factory it came from. After putting the none damaged one together I realized I don't need two of the same type of cabinet. So I wanted to return the item instead of exchanging it but since the IKEA in Bolingbrook,IL doesn't check return items before restocking them I was falsely accused of altering the item. I had to argue with them for about 30 min before they agreed to only exchange it. read more

IKEA is a great place to shop for furniture, and this location is about everything I would expect from shopping there. The long, twisty paths are odd but also avoid confusion as to where things are. Simply follow the path and at some point you will find it. The food, as many have said for IKEA locations in general, is surprisingly good. Sure, it's essentially a ploy to get you to spend more time there, but those meatballs are unrivaled. The two things that I didn't find exciting about the store were its location and its lines. The store is located off of a major road, which is almost frightening to turn out of and get into the IKEA complex. I also found the lines to be oddly long. The value of the furniture is yet another positive for me. The desk I bought a few years ago has held up perfectly. read more

YIKES - COVID-19 petri dish alert. They're basically doing the bare minimum when it comes to safety, and it was the least safe I've felt since the start of the pandemic. Large crowds of people, many who are not wearing masks properly, and you have to walk through the entire store to get out. It was like traversing through the 9 circles of hell from Dante's Inferno. The store is great until you have to return something. The people at the Returns and Exchanges desks are some of the rudest people I have ever interacted with. They clearly learn nothing about providing even the most basics of customer courtesy in their training. We have had to return multiple items on multiple dates due to a remodel we are working on and each time it gets worse. We try and approach with a fresh mind every time but are constantly met with argumentative, judgemental and impatient employees. If you struggle for even a moment to find the right receipt they are quick to bitingly spit out that they can't look up your purchase with your family card or your credit card. While that information is good to have, it is the attitude and spite with which it is given that I take issue with. Telling people not to shop at Ikea is a pointless endeavor...if you are an Ikea person, you will shop at Ikea. But I would offer that you should double check that you need everything you are purchasing because the return process contaminates the experience of the whole store. Or better yet...try the Schaumburg location. read more
