    My review is strictly on the OUTLET side of the store- everyone that works that side (usually in a black fleece/T shirt) is friendly, not pushy. They have the knowledge about the regular price side of things and know their inventory well. And they're great about talking to you "all the things": shipping policy, final sale policy, all the things. I bought my bed from the outlet- it was $1800 (original price was $2800) + $100 white glove delivery, and it's usually within the next week. I've been searching for the perfect navy blue couch and The Outlet has had several options during my last few visits, but didn't work out for one reason or another (too long, not comfortable). I'll continue my weekly drop in on my search for the perfect, sale couch!

    Their drivers don't use their mirrors. This one almost killed us on I-94. He forced us to slam on breaks as he started to clip the passenger side with my wife, 5 year old, and 3 pets.

    PILLOW TALK Like walking past a Ferrari dealer, this place has lots of cool stuff.....for a price. I'd won a $100 gift card at a Yelp event here two summer ago and finally got around to using it. Previously, I'd expressed interest in an outdoor chair and table for my balcony but once I realized that'd set me back a solid $400 (dear god) I quickly switched gears. Yesterday I came here with one objective in mind: buy a pillow. Not caring too much about patterns, textures, or 'feng shui', a sales associate walked me past some collections and it wasn't long before I'd found TWO super awesome pillows to purchase. Of the pair, one was a monstrous 2' x 2' sheepskin body pillow that, well, Agnes from Despicable Me said it best: "IT'S SO FLUFFY!!" For $80, it wasn't a bad deal and it's loads of fun to....ahem, 'play with'. The other one was a more modest 1' x 1' that ran $99, which I felt was steep, but it looks hella cool. This leads me to an important point about Room & Board -- affordability is not among their strengths. Way back when I sought a small balcony table, I inquired about their cheaper products and was directed to a lightweight resin block (literally a plastic gray blob) that cost $135. Considering you could buy an entire dining room set for the same price at Ikea, I wasn't thrilled. A single unpadded deck chair ran upwards of $179. All of their furniture is made in the USA, which is nice, and everything comes pre-assembled. If you're not a Mechanical Engineering grad, then maybe you love avoiding the hassle of construction. Me? I enjoy putting together furniture, as opposed to getting stuff pre-built, which jacks up the cost considerably. So perhaps R&B sells high-end sh*t at a matching price, I can deal with that. Painfully slow checkout, now that's a different story. It took far longer to ring up my two (2) items than I spent picking them out. After what felt like a while, the sales associate politely asked me to wait while she tried a different register. No sweat, I'll sit down in this $1,850 chair and just chill for a hot minute. Twelve not-so-hot minutes later, she reemerged and got it to work. 75% of my time inside the store was spent twiddling my thumbs at the check-out counter.....hmmm...... Despite this snafu, they were very gracious hosts for the Yelp event a couple summers ago and the other associates I talked to were pleasant enough. Timeliness of customer service hit some speedbumps on this most recent visit and most of their product lines are outrageously expensive. Were it not for the $100 gift card, I wouldn't have come here. I want to like Room & Board, but it's tough for me to recommend them. The price level borders on exorbitant so very few of us can afford to shop here on the reg. Store's laid out nicely, employees are cool. It kills me to give these guys a mediocre rating, but processing a gift card shouldn't take a quarter hour, there's really no excuse for that. I'd say maybe stop in for a fluffy pillow or two, then bounce.

    Color me unhappy. I bought a walnut bookcase with storage here about four years ago, for around $2500. It was perfect when first delivered. But that was then, and now it's not so perfect. The wood has changed color dramatically. In fact, it looks like four different kinds of wood were used in the construction. I've followed the instructions for caring for the wood R&B gave me. This problem with the wood has also plagued the $1000 walnut coffee table I bought at the R&B Ohio St. location, at about the same time. One section of the wood is so dark it looks like it was painted (it wasn't). I understand wood changes color as it ages. But I've never seen quality wood furniture that became four distinct colors as it aged. My pictures tell the story better than I can describe. When I redecorated four years ago, I decided to invest in quality furniture to achieve the mid-century look I wanted. Making an investment takes a leap of faith. I was counting on the furniture lasting many years, without problems. In this instance, my faith in R&B wasn't justified.

    Rude sales people! Was in the store over 20 mins, not one sales person would even acknowledge my existence or offer to help. A salesman in the outlet portion looked at me at least 3 times, saw me trying out chairs, sitting on couches, laying on a daybed - refused to even acknowledge me. Another sales lady, too busy fluffing pillows on a shelf. Another, head down, engrossed by her phone at the register. It takes very little to say "Hi, how are you today? I will check back with you in a minute after I get done helping these people, finishing this task, etc.". Honestly felt they size up people & make a determination on whether you have $$ to justify their effort. Felt like Pretty Woman. Left the store and told the receptionist about the rudeness of their staff. She got defensive. It's a shame - was looking to furnish a whole house - big mistake, big, huge!

The solarium atmosphere is stunning, the fountain is charming, and the greenery is lush and thoughtfully curated. From a design and aesthetic standpoint, it's incredible -- easily one of the most visually appealing dining spaces I've been in. The food was... good, but uneven. We started with the cheese and fruit platter, which was delicious and well done. The Caesar salad, however, missed the mark for me. And not because of the dressing -- it actually seemed like the lettuce had been freshly washed (which I appreciate), but it was still holding a lot of residual moisture. Unfortunately, that excess water diluted the Caesar dressing and left the salad soggy. That said, the croutons were to die for -- and that's saying something, because I usually hate croutons. For entrées, my husband ordered the salmon and I had the lobster roll. The lobster roll was excellent -- fresh, flavorful, and adding the caviar was the perfect touch. The salmon was cooked perfectly and tasted good, but it was nothing memorable. To be completely honest, it felt like something I could (and likely have) made at home. Well executed, just not special. Where the experience really fell apart for us was the service. Our server was absent for much of the meal and rarely checked back in. After we finished our entrées, he returned to clear the plates and apologized, explaining that he had been speaking with his manager. While that could be true, I spent many years working in the food service industry, and it's hard for me to understand why a manager would pull a server away from an active table for a prolonged conversation. Maybe that's what happened -- but regardless, it was a significant miss. Between the soggy salad, the standard salmon, and the spotty table service, I don't think we'll be returning. There are simply too many other places where a $200+ dinner feels more justified and better executed. I truly wanted to love this place -- the setting alone almost won me over -- but unfortunately, the overall experience didn't live up to the atmosphere.

Their stores have always offered great design and quality at an affordable price, and I've I've always had great customer service. The issue I am having with Crate and Barrel now is a glitchy transition to Imprint that handles their branded credit card. I first received a digital virtual card and then received the physical credit card. The problem I've been experiencing is syncing the account to access my rewards. I tried to place an online order in early January and saw that I had rewards dollars available but they never appeared on the checkout page. I was logged into both my C&B account and my Imprint account but all I saw was this message: Redeem Reward Dollars Not seeing expected Reward Dollars? Sign into the account associated with your Crate & Barrel Visa Signature® Card. I finally called customer service and I was on a phone call with an agent for close to an hour while he worked to help me. He had to escalate the call to another person who was finally able to resolve the problem. While I was able to redeem my rewards for that purchase, I now see the same thing happening. My Imprint account shows rewards dollars available but my Crate and Barrel account shows nothing. I've read several other negative reviews from customers having similar issues since Imprint took over their credit card. I want to remain a loyal and happy customer but it should not be this difficult to make a purchase.

    SO despite reading all of the horrible reviews, I went ahead and bought their sofa. The couch was…read moreour favorite after testing out over 15 couches. We received it after 3 months. It's the Haywood sectional, has removable cushion covers and comes with pillows. Pros: amazing quality, easy delivery. We upgraded to the memory foam cushions which was worth it for us. Tons of options and really comfortable yet firm and feels durable. Cons: in store staff seem miserable...I was mostly ignored when I walked in, they try to avoid you at all costs, which must be a commission thing. I worked with Diana, who was great, and I'd only ever work with her again. She seemed overly busy, store seems short staffed. Sofa is expensive even after many "discounts" All in all, happy it worked out for us and I do recommend if you're a patient person willing to invest in a sofa. I will keep everyone updated, would love to give this store the benefit of the doubt. Our estimated delivery was 10 weeks (mid December.) and we received in January.

Everyone working at the store were friendly and made the experience so much fun. I however did not have to deal with the customer service side of the company so I cannot comment. We will be back to complete other rooms in our home.
