We paid to have a dresser and two end tables delivered to our home and were given a next day window of between 10-2 pm. That small window has now expanded to a huge window because we still haven't received our product. No communication, no-follow-up, just the same excuse of "we have it scheduled for delivery tomorrow. That was yesterday. Listen, we have much to be grateful for, including the ability to make a purchase at Ikea. What frustrates me the most from a leadership perspective is this.. it isn't the operators fault on the other end of the phone nor is it a the warehouse folks putting the order together. It is a corporate culture of simply not having the infrastructure in place to give a damn. Buyer beware of the "next day delivery option." read more

They have some employee moral issues I think. Nobody here seems to like there job, at least that the impression I was given with the five employees I interacted with. The only thing that explains having SO MANY items "out of stock" yet still on display to waste a customer's time, is that either leadership is asleep in tracking shipments, or they are incapable of directing employees effectively. Either way, horrible experience compared to the glowing one I had at the Las Vegas Ikea. Everyone passes the buck here, and takes no initiative, if you don't have the EXACT question, the employee will just stare instead of being proactive in trying to understand your needs. Whatever. We've had a long list of items that have needed replacement. We came for a few specific household items but left with so much more. One of the surprising finds was a beautiful set of soft towels that after first use still have us happy about our purchase. Generally speaking, IKEA is great for simplified living, minimalist style, smart storage and pretty good design on a budget. The showroom of the store is a pretty interesting experience to see how they put together so many spaces so well with all their products. Parking is easy, shopping is easy, and it's also a part of the experience to either get a Swedish snack or meal. read more

Every time I do a return, service is very slow. Nobody looks like they enjoy doing their job and I wait over 45 minutes just to process a return. There's not much seating (first come first serve) too and even the express line isn't really an express line. There's no sense of urgency. read more

This is our second trip to the IKEA Twin Cities up in Minneapolis, Minnesota and venturing through the showcase rooms and then down through the store itself and the self service area is always such an adventure! You come to this home furnishing store and there's just so many wonderful ideas on how to style any room from lighting to home supplies. We came mainly to purchase a new office chair and ended up grabbing a hallway rug, three different little lamps, and other random home furnishings. If you're a IKEA family member, you get free tea and coffee every single day! (Although, I'd recommend to skip the half and half cream for tea, not a good combination.) Enjoy walking through the store and budget your time wisely, it can easily take many hours just to walk through each of the showrooms. Additionally, be sure to grab a pencil and paper to mark down items that you like from any of the upstairs showrooms, as everything is available for purchase downstairs. The check out process was relatively streamlined, just keep in mind there's no bagging available, so make sure your car has enough room and can hold loose items properly. read more

IKEA is a definitely a destination you should expect to commit a decent amount of time, money, and stomach space to. If you've never been to an IKEA (I'm still not sure if that is sad or smart), this is the format: Grab a cart or bag, pencil, and brochure. Head to the showrooms where you gawk at the setups and note on the brochure what you want from them. You can grab small items that are stocked by the showrooms but will get large items from the first floor warehouse when you're done browsing. I love the setup of the showrooms -- they're inspiring and so freakin pretty. There are different rooms for different tastes. Most items are affordable (except for those bar stools we pined for that were $150 a dang stool) and pretty easy to assemble. We were disappointed when some items were out of stock, though. But the food! You have to grub down here, and you'll probably work up an appetite anyways. We got 4 entrees and 3 beverages for like $25 total, and we loved the Swedish meatballs and the smoked salmon dishes. I'm kicking myself for not picking up the lingonberry jam! read more

Visited the Bloomington, MN IKEA yesterday. Couldn't find any sales reps to help with questions, asked at the "Help" Desk, but no help there either. We put several purchases back and walked up to the checkout - which was mainly self-serve. One wonders where the employees who were there only a year ago went. Won't be returning anytime soon. 'I have no idea, not with a description that vague'. I went to IKEA to buy another table, like the one I bought a few months ago. I did not see it so I talked to Bob in the 'Workspaces' department. He was looking at doctor pictures on a health insurance website and no other customers were near him. When I walked up, he began ignoring me immediately: Me: 'I am looking for a table I bought here that looks like (such and such), it is this size ( hand motioning to indicate height, width and length) and it was unfinished wood and cost this much. Do you have a recommendation where I might find that?' Bob: 'I have no idea, not with a description that vague'. He did not even leave the website with the pictures of doctors on it. Unbelievable. This is not directed at the store but instead to it's delivery service. I am utterly disappointed with the quality of service I received from this ikea in relevance with their delivery. My delivery coming straight from this store was pushed back 6 times and I was told it was because the order wasn't ready several times until I got a hold of a manager and was told I was given false info from the delivery company via customer service. After a very stern yelling conversation with two people, my sofa arrived this next morning first thing. Though I was refunded my delivery, I should never have had to fight for a service I already paid for. If you're shopping from here, don't bother with delivery. read more

I live 35 miles from this IKEA. My wife and I definitely like the products, but... We order items online only to get to the store to pick them up and have them out of stock or not ready. Yesterday we went to pick up some fairly standard shelving and storage items (and pick up an order that hadn't been fulfilled the night before). We went right in and ordered to pieces to be pulled from the warehouse which we were told would be ready in 30-45 minutes. We went through the showroom and got a few more items off the shelves and then pulled around outside to get our two orders loaded. The attendant the told us that not only was our order from the night before not ready, but the one that we had ordered 45 minutes ago was going to be another 45-60 minutes. THEN, we went back inside to speak to a manager, then back down to the loading area where we got the previous nights' order loaded (finally), waited another 20 minutes for that day's order, but when we asked AGAIN were told they couldn't find it. So at this point, we had made 3 round trips to this store (210 miles), spent several hours lingering waiting for orders we never actually got, and now need to make a fourth trip to get the rest of the goods we have already paid for. Additionally, this location is always unusably crowded, has too few staff working, and the staff that is there has clearly been mismanaged into persistent abysmal morale. read more

Amazing. Took me by surprise - the IKEA restaurant is modern, offers a variety of dishes highlighting Swedish cuisine, and most importantly healthy and cheap! Think of it as a hawker center / cafeteria where there are many different offerings. Grab a tray and off you go. There is literally everything for everyone including a 'Kids Eat Free Tuesday' for the parents. Dishes range from $2-7 and the portions are fairly large as dishes range from a salmon fillet to the famous Swedish meatballs. I ordered the latter and was highly impressed. It is a 5/5 and in my books one of my best cafeteria-style lunches to date. Pro tip - you can add an extra $1 and get a few extra meatballs too. The meatballs are fresh, meaty, and so delicious. It works well with the veggies and mash potatoes (amazing complementary berry sauce). I also suggest opening a free IKEA Family membership as that will get you free coffee and tea. Overall, I am highly impressed by my dining experience at IKEA and will re-visit very soon. read more

LEFT IN TEARS A visit every 4-5 yrs is more than enough! And that is just for the meatballs! Today was probably my final trip here. I walked the entire 2nd floor, went to the 1st floor, walked all the way through and had about 10-12 items in my cart. Decided to go back upstairs and get something I was wavering on. I tucked my basket in an out of the way place, walked all the way through, retrieved my item and went all the way back to my cart. IT WAS GONE!! Less than 10 minutes! Now, I hare to bring attention to my age, but I am getting pretty close to 70. I had walked my limit. No way I was going to retrace my steps and replace everything I had selected. So I was very discouraged, yet I took my single item to the check out area. C H A O S Every line was loong. I picked the shortest one, and waited, and waited, and waited. Barely moved. Other lines were progressing, not ours. I gave up, went to the Swedish Foods area near the exit. Went to look at that line before I selected anything, it too was long. I left empty handed. Everyone's having a hard time adjusting to COVID-19 requirements, but IKEA has adjusted the worst. I went on a weekday late afternoon and while there were certainly plenty of people there, it didn't feel crowded because there's so much space in their show room and warehouse. That space all went away when check-out came. IKEA has never been great at checking out. They've had lines when there's almost nobody in the store, but they seem to be taking their check-out customer service cues from the airport security. There are long winding lines that everyone has to go through to get to one of their TWO kiosks for actually making purchases. They are well staffed throughout their showrooms. It seems incomprehensible that I have to wait in a 30 minute line because there are only two kiosks open. It's also unsafe. There were six feet markers that people observed within the line, but the distance between the line as it doubles back and created a new column (this was a long line that doubled back several times) was not 6 feet. 6 feet distancing only works when it is 360 degrees and not simply front and back. I also went to get some additional parts. They used to have a spot where they had all the spare nuts and bolts, etc. you needed, but now they've removed that and you have to request them in the returns line. This seems strange to me as previously it was virtually contactless and now I have to interact with one of their return people. The returns line doesn't have any guidance on how we're supposed to form the line except for four spots six feet across, but they don't really seem to be connected in any line unless they were for the two kiosks. There's way more than four people in there and I just nope'd out of there. I would rather throw my IKEA purchase away than stand in that room waiting to catch COVID. I don't know if IKEA is adopting the herd mentality approach to COVID-19 that its parent country Sweden is, but I don't like it at all and I won't be back during this pandemic and maybe longer. read more

IKEA would be a much better experience if they added cashiers to the checkout lines. My last 3 visits only had 2 lanes open and over 45 customers in line. It shouldn't take 30+ minutes to check out. That is why I don't visit here very often. They do have excellent deals on kitchen ware. Their wine glasses come in many shapes and sizes and are inexpensive so you won't feel bad if you break them. They have a 3 piece knife set (the Andlig) for $7.99 that is a great deal. They were recommended by another customer and now they are indispensable (and I do have much more expensive knives). The flatware is also inexpensive if you are looking for some cheaper options or extra for a party. I like the cafeteria and you should try the Swedish Meatballs. Inexpensive and the line moves quickly. The quality of some of their items is a bit iffy. Shelves that bow was my last issue. If you have a lot of time you should check out IKEA. I am going to avoid the Holiday season as I can only guess how long those lines are. read more

I am glad that they have two people making sure that masks are worn upon entering the store. It was a bit stressful because it was quit crowded. Someone kept sneezing every 3 minutes or so - probably allergies but it's stressful to be there. I had a list - shopped as fast as possible and got to the lines. It was nuts. There were so many people it was unbearable to think about even standing in those lines. It looked like no one was moving and I honestly can't believe people are willing to stand in line to check out. I guess it was close to 30 people in each line and it looked like maybe 3 checkers. There's a lot to look at IKEA and that is why I go here. I feel bad sometimes when I walk out with nothing, except maybe an ice cream cone. First off they have a deli area with affordable meals and sweet treats. It's hard not to want to sit down and grab something to snack on. Their swedish meatballs are very delicious and I love getting their garlic bread. Yum! The displays are like mini apartments or even just rooms. I love how they are full decorated and it helps you really imagine the piece of furniture in your place. They make it too easy to find tempting things to bring home with you. The furniture can be a pain to put together and I won't lie that they can be heavy if you didn't bring help. I had to grab furniture and bring to the front by myself. One thing I recommend that if you're like me and don't have a spacious truck to bring huge furniture home, my case a bed frame, then utilize their delivery service. They are very on top of things and it doesn't cost too much. If you can grab the items yourself you save yourself some money and just pay for them to deliver. The nice thing about them deliverying they bring it to the room you want it in. Depending on location it's between $60-$100. On the way out I always get tempted to grab a bit to eat whether it's an ice cream cone or a cinnamon roll. You have to have a chill mindset when you visit this gargantuan IKEA location across from the Mall of America. Best tip- go early in the day, and the crowds are a bit less. I went to IKEA for the one thing they have lots of that my family loves- Lingonberry jam! When you drive nearly an hour to buy a dozen jars of Lingonberry jam at IKEA you are on a mission! If you ever make crepes at home (and you should give it a try) IKEA's Lingonberry jam will complement your crepes and make your family lose their minds! The jam is organic too! When IKEA comes to mind, I know you're thinking well priced home goods (and they have lots of that), but I encourage you to try the Lingonberries! It is worth the drive. I had to buy the big blue "FRAKTA" bag for about a $1 to hold all my jars of jam, and that was money well spent! read more

When you need something but don't want to pay oversaturated prices for it, IKEA! Since I have Swedish blood in me, I try to get to IKEA every now and then to see what is new and get a plate of their classic meatballs. I like to shop around and it seems I always get hungry, probably because you walk for miles in this place... Now IKEA's restaurant isn't necessarily the best Swedish food eatery out there. It is still cafeteria food mind you, but it is pretty good and the price isn't bad. Actually the food is very good when you think about it, since it is cafeteria style. The serving area is not always the most inviting to grab your food from, but after you get past that and slip into the trendy looking eating area, you kinda forget that you are in a glorified cafeteria. And for crying out loud, it is amazingly cheap so I don't really mind that they plop my mashed potatoes on a plate with no artsiness. I'm OK with that. The food is always comfortable and reliable. The Swedish meatballs are a hit, but the ribs, salmon, and pastas are all very good too. Sometimes we will get dessert, but you can find the same stuff in their grocer section for a lot cheaper, so we usually opt out and bring home dessert instead. The staff are not always the friendliest, but once again cafeteria. All in all, I love IKEA and their quirkiness carries over into their food service. Add more slots for click and collect. The employee said that the slots were limited to like only 100 per day. I'm guessing it's because they probably only have like 3 employees working on the click and collect. The amount of business that IKEA steals away from other furniture stores isn't even made up by the maybe 10 employees that they hire. Okay, so I'm from a place that doesn't have an IKEA, so when I went to this one for the first time, I was absolutely BLOWN AWAY. If you haven't been to one, run..don't walk! The way it works is you can walk around the showroom or go straight to the self serve shopping area and warehouse. We chose to peruse the showroom and see what it was all about. I mean, we had to get the full IKEA experience! Immediately upon entering, we fell in love with so many pieces. Some small items you can find in the showroom for sale, but you typically have to take a photo of the tag and then find that item in the shopping area or warehouse. By the time we got through the showroom, an hour and a half had passed and we had over 50 photos in our phone. We ended up furnishing most of our new apartment with IKEA furniture. We got a bed frame, 2 dressers, 4 shelves, mirrors, picture frames, duvet covers...you name it! And alllll of it was a great price. Every time I need new furniture or household items/decor, IKEA is the first place I go to. Note: all of the item names are in a different language, so trying to pronounce them is always a riot in itself. The only downsides are the lines. I waited in line last weekend around 11am for 20ish picture frames for about a half hour-45 minutes. You need to be prepared to wait in the long lines so give yourself some time..and get a cart! read more

I waited 27 minutes to checkout, and another 44 minutes in furniture pickup for a couch cover. I won't ever return. I was going to return it but those lines are just as long. IKEA is the perfect furniture store if your looking for affordable, yet durable furniture that you can transport yourself in the back of your small car. I love IKEA knowing if I go with my Suburu and I put the back seats down and I can fit furnishing for my whole apartment in there. Yes, it does require assembly, but for me it is so worth it. I've moved multiple times and it has actually come in handy because I can just dissemble what I have, making it easy to for through door and in small vehicles. I feel pretty qualified to write this review because I'm pretty sure my entire apartment is IKEA. Tv Stand, bookshelf, bed frame, kitchen table and chairs, mattress, dresser.....literally everything. The products are durable and they handled quite a few moves. It's worth going to the store because you can get so much inspiration for organizing and decorating. Yes, this is dangerous and I recommend having a shopping partner that can keep you in check, but I always find myself going back again and again for most of my furniture needs. They do offer a good variety of more affordable items and more expensive and trendy pieces. Be sure to treat yourself to the cafeteria for some Swedish meatballs and other preshopping treats. It makes standing in line at the end much more tolerable (yes there will be a long line no matter when you go). Any established well run IKEA like the majority of stores in California are either 35% minimum and 50%... Can't figure, but most likely is a problem of greed!!!
