This was a food truck we were interested in visiting the last time we were on the island but it was closed. This is right next to the fire station behind the Brewery. There is a very small seating area dedicated to the food truck-- the larger outdoor seating area is reserved for customers of the Brewery. However as long as you order a drink you're welcome to enjoy the food from Ikaika indoors or outdoors. The order process was easy-- they had the full menu on the glass of the ordering booth and a menu board with the gluten free options from their full menu. Once you place the order they give you a beeper that'll work anywhere on the property so you can definitely place the order and head inside the brewery to grab a drink. It did take a long time for our orders to come out-- there were 2 people on average preparing the food while 1 person was in charge of managing the register. The sauce that came with the fish and chips were amazing and got praise from all of us. We also ordered kimchi fried rice and while the kimchi was great, some of the rice tasted undercooked and the celery felt a little strange as an addition. The kalua sandwich was very solid and the buns were toasted beautifully golden and we did order the award winning beans but my partner was not a fan of the sweetness. Ikaika has relocated to Thirsty crab brewing by the ferry and is no longer in Langley. They've also switched their menu to Greek food! (But they're still giving out punch cards with little cartoon musubis, so I think the change must be very recent). They still have a few more seafood items than your average Greek food truck, and they have some specials a few days per week with items from their original Hawaiian menu. Anyways, the new menu is very good. The sauces taste like they're made in house. The meat was very tender and flavorful. The portions could maybe be a little bigger but for the price it was reasonable. I hope the owners are successful in this new location! read more

I have been wanting to try this place for sometime and it did not disappoint. It was a little hard to find the place but after following people I noticed the signs that pointed to the food truck. To start off the smell while waiting in line was amazing and I knew the food was going to be delicious. I ordered the crab cakes which were perfectly portioned and incredibly flavorful. It came with a delicious sauce on the side that I dunked every bite in. I also got a side of the Mac salad which was good, a little different from what I'm used to but I think a drizzle of soy or teriyaki sauce on top would have made it perfect for me. We were looking for some good bites on the island and saw this place being recommending. I got some staple Hawaiian dishes like loco moco, spam Musubi and mac salad. The food tasted like a home cooked meal - tasty, hearty and umami. The combination of the rich egg yolk and gravy over everything made for a great bite. Ikaika has upgraded from a full kitchen in the basement of the American Legion hall in Highway 525 to a little food truck tucked behind Double Bluff Brewing in downtown Langley. Pork fried noodles are always good and substantial. Other dishes have been less consistent, e.g., some of the best fish and chips, as well as an occasional "wish I hadn't ordered". We ordered the mochiko chicken to share along with a beer from the Double Bluff brewery who they share a space with and it was pretty good! The mochiko chicken breading was a bit more darker than usual and that makes me think that the oil they fried it in was older. Other than that, the dish was pretty good. This is the perfect food truck to work with a brewery. The food was so incredibly tasty and the menu had so many options. We went on a really busy Saturday - it was the first warm and sunny weekend day of the year. We went to order pretty late in the evening and they said it would be about an hour wait but the menu looked so good that I figured I would be okay to wait. Come to find out - the food came out shockingly fast. I swear we only waited 15 minutes and then it was ready. I ordered a spam masubi with a side of mac salad and my fiancé got the teriyaki cheeseburger. All of which was phenomenal. Dude this place was so great. We got a beer at Double Bluff and walked out to grab food from the food truck.. Spam musubi... so good.. Kimchi fried rice AND shrimp fried rice.. killer.. then the chicken wings.. $14 bucks and he packed that Togo container. The sauce was insane. This is a great little spot serving Double Bluff Brewery in Langley. The Spam Musubi ($4.50) was very memorable and the perfect light lunch to go with a cold beer. It's a food truck, so you order at the window but they conveniently give you a little buzzer so you can wait inside where it's warm. We stopped by and had the kimchi fried rice and veggie noodles. The noodles were good, but the fried rice tasted great and was a total standout. They have a couple vegan options on the menu, a rarity amount the restaurants in south Whidbey. Logistics: When we visited on a weekend evening, the wait time for orders was 30 min, but there was plenty of seating (both indoor and outdoor) at the brewery to enjoy a beer while waiting. Later in the evening, some of the items can run out, so visiting on the earlier side is the safer bet. One thing to keep in mind is that the brewery requires a beverage purchase to use the seating, but they have some juices, sodas, and other beverages apart from beer. read more

We ordered the chicken katsu, spam musubi, and loco moco. We waited about 20 minutes for our food. The spam musubi was probably the best out of the 3 items. Portions were okay considering the price. The loco moco patty lacked flavor, was overcooked and dry. There wasn't much gravy and the eggs were well done making it difficult to mix like you would with a Hawaii loco moco. This is a food truck in the backyard of double bluff brewing co. There were some outdoor tables for double bluff brewing that we could use if we ordered drinks from there and food from ikaika bistro. Food took about 15-20 mins to prep which was adequate time to order some drinks and find a spot outdoor. We were very impressed by the quality and taste. We ordered pan seared mahi mahi which was comparable to any high end restaurant. The noodles and kimchi fried rice were both flavorful (and had vegan options). Spam musubi was well liked by everyone. We came in here due to a long wait at other places around for our large party. The portion sizes were pretty good but it was a bit overpriced for what it was. The fish and chips were a large portion (3 giant pieces of fish). The fries were flavorful, the coleslaw was bland. What a find! This food truck is nestled in the back patio of Double Bluff Brewery and has an extensive menu with lots of delicious options. We ordered the pork katsu, fish & chips, spam musubi, and mixed plate. The pork katsu was likely my favorite, closely followed by the spam musubi and fish & chips, and then the mixed plate (the mixed plate was still tasty, but a tad sodium-forward for my taste!). The food is absolutely worth checking out, but since they prepare everything to order, be prepared to wait for your order (ours took approximately 30 minutes). Perfect place to stop if you're on Whidbey. The lab "lollipops" (ribs) were incredible. Great flavors, perfectly cooked vegetables. Highly recommend this place. Super fast, super delicious, very inexpensive for what you're getting. The chef used to have a restaurant in Seattle, but they downsized into a food truck. The service was great. The food truck is set behind a brewery and you have to purchase a drink from the brewery to sit and eat at the tables but that was fine because we got to sit outside and eat with my friend's dog. Ikaika Grill still has the best halibut and cod with "chips" I've had anywhere. Fresh, moist and firm with a crispy crust. Perfect slaw, garden fresh with cilantro, not sweet. From a bright, stainless steel kitchen in a trailer behind Double Bluff Brewing Company. Also, the pork fried noodles with vegetables is without comparison. Came here on Monday 2/5 when Yelp AND their website said they were open and they were closed. Their menu boards outside the restaurant also said they should be open. It wasn't clear where we should go, thought maybe it was the large building out front but that was dark. Didn't know until after we left we have to walk around the back to find it? Once we checked on the food, all they said was that our food was sitting right there and didn't care that their machines were not working. This restaurant is located in the downstairs hall of the VFW. The waitress was so friendly and courteous. I had the moco loco and my husband had their Burger. Everything was fresh, hot and delicious. Generous size servings with a very friendly atmosphere. We were staying in Langley for a few days but wanted to explore Something other than what was there in Langley. Yesterday my friend and I were searching for parking on our first visit to Langley and stumbled onto Double Bluff Brewing by accident. It didn't come up in my Yelp search but I assumed incorrectly that it was because they weren't open. As we walked by we noticed they were open and so we stopped in to have a beer and asked about their food options and they directed us to Ikaika Bistro just outside their back door. I was glad to see they offer seafood options, so I ordered their seared mahi mahi with rainbow carrots and asparagus with a side of macaroni salad. I was given a pager and went back to my surprisingly comfortable chair at the table inside. When the food arrived, I was blown away by the quality and flavor - I was hoping for good food and was blown away with a great meal made by some very nice people.
