The place certainly needs something done to clean it up. I don't know if it's because it's such an old building, but there are stains on the ceiling from looks like previous leaks so I was not comfortable with that. The servers were very friendly and very nice and you know you can't mess up eggs and pancakes, so it was fine. Good value for the money for sure. This IHOP is tied to a Red Roof inn. Restaurant was clean and busy. They were clearly understaffed. There were only 3 waitresses for about 30 table tops. Seemed like the greeter was late for work. So the waitresses were seating guests also. They were killing it! Placing an order is virtually impossible. If you do place an order, good luck paying for it in a reasonable time. Ive been left on hold multiple times. The cooks look lethargic. while the waitresses look like they're ready to go home. If they have a manager, they have no presence in the building. Wet stuff all over the floor when you first walk in and it looked dirty and sticky. Disgusting. Service was poor. My husband and I went here for breakfast and after standing up front for several minutes (while 2-3 workers passed by) we looked up over the entrance and noticed mold growing on the ceiling tiles and on the AC duct. It was disgusting and we decided to leave because we were afraid of getting sick from the mold. I feel sorry for the workers being exposed to the toxins produced by the mold. Big shout out to the cook at IHOP on US 1 in Vero Beach. Steve and I walked in early Friday morning to discover that one sole employee was doing it all. He asked if we were in a hurry and then told us that he could feed us but if we paid with cash he wouldn't be able to make change until someone else came in at 6 am. He took our breakfast order, brought our coffee, and then went to the kitchen and prepared a very nice breakfast. While we were enjoying our breakfast he did the same for three more customers. In this post-Covid world where so many businesses use low staffing as an open excuse for terrible customer service, it was such a refreshing situation. Yes, typical breakfast food. HOWEVER, the service is ALWAYS phenomenal! I rarely go out to breakfast but frequent this place when we have family visiting. I also just love the multi-grain pancakes....so darn good!!! There is one downside to this particular IHOP for me...I dined there last Nov. with my little brother...that was one of the last times we were together and he leaves today for Afghanistan for a year.
