If you're with a large group or in a hurry to get seated, dine, and get out, then a weekend might not be the most ideal for you. Off peak hours (weekdays and afternoons) would be better. My cousin was in town recently and we came here for breakfast on a Sunday. I expected a wait - we were told 20 minutes for two people so no biggie for me, but some folks walked in, saw the crowd and walked right back out! Why do I keep co.ing to this place. The manager is rude. You should hear how he speaks to guest and employees, especially the Hispanic workers. Today we ordered the bfast sampler. I came to get some late night food after work tonight with my boyfriend first we were given old stale tea that i literally spit out; we then we placed our order and communicated with the server we were stepping out to smoke and he said okay; when we came back in the server stated they canceled our order because we stepped out of restaurant....? A larger Hispanic man with glasses literally stopped us from leaving and blocked our pathway and told us we can't leave and need to go bring the money to the server!!!!!! I was absolute disbelief and shock because why would I as a customer track down the server when I'm also the only table here!!!! And then to stop us from leaving when we even explained the money is on the table. He refused to make a path for us to leave and made us squeeze past him even after the waiter grabbed the money. This place has continued to disappoint everytime I use it's service. I understand that the weekends are busy but stop offering curbside pickup if you can't provide the service. I have ordered delivery my food was cold and items missing, to place an order you have to wade though tons of people and that is the only way to get reasonable service or wait an hour for subpar food.The manager must not put enough people on staff to provide the service they offer . There is no COVID consideration with this business. I have seen multiple people order at the front desk and get service while I waited over 30min and the 15min drive time. Five stars because the staff here is delightful. Our waiter, Dewey, is a real gentleman (and a good waiter). Large, clean dining area, coffee carafe on the table (no waiting for a refill!), good prices and large portions. We arrived about 9:00am on a Saturday and had to wait only a few minutes for a table. No worries, there are comfy benches. By 10:00 there was a line out the door and standing room only so get there early! Clearly the locals know where to go for breakfast. Coffee provided right away, followed quickly by juice. Even with a full house we did not wait too long for our order. Everything was well prepared and tasty. First of all, I want to start the review by saying I usually take pictures of my food but with this, I just wanted to get into right away. My mom and I have been coming here since 2014 and we would come every Saturday. I don't live here anymore so it's less often but she asked where I wanted to eat and I replied "our ihop." When we arrived I was turned off by how crowded it was given it is a Sunday at noon, and I was foolishly quick to turn away but my mom was persistent and she asked the hostess the wait time which she replied "15 minutes." We decided to wait and our table was ready in just 10 minutes, we sat down and were given drink menus instantly and ordered our drinks. I ordered my classic hot chocolate which was topped with whipped cream and my mother ordered the orange juice. Our drinks came out in about 3-4 minutes and then the server asked if we were ready to order. I don't recall what my mother ordered but I ordered the 4 cinnastik pancakes with two sausage links. I've never seen ihop food come out this fast, maybe like 5-8 minutes for a wait I was caught off guard. Usually, I would have been halfway finished with my hot chocolate or finished but this time my hot chocolate had barely been touched when my food arrived. Pancakes were hot,steamy and thick, sausage was okay - a little overboard with grease. I got a "to -go box" and finished the pancakes in the car because they were just so filling I could only finish one in the restaurant. IHOP is one of those restaurants I go to when I want breakfast food or late night food in general. Used to always go to the one in College Park, MD, but recently started going to this location instead. Before getting into the food, restaurant, service, etc. I want to mention that this IHOP has way better parking situation than the one in College Park. The restaurant is generally clean but it is kind of stuffy inside. Not sure if the ventilation/air circulation is not very good inside but you can tell when you first walk in. This also means that it often times do not smell very good inside. The service is decent, not bad but not good either. There are times I go in and see a lot of empty tables but still need to wait few minutes for them to give me a table. The food is same as other IHOP I've been to. I can't say that the quality of the food is superb but it is edible and the portion is good amount for the price. I usually stick with a typical breakfast plates or the sirloin tips and eggs. Sometimes these foods come out dry or are in odd shapes. You can tell that they pulled it right out from the freezer and they didn't even try to make the food more presentable. 3 stars from me because the place is not bad but not good either and would still go for the same reasons as mentioned above. Well today, I think our male waiter was overwhelmed because most of his tables that were waiting for their food to come from the kitchen. When my food finally arrived, our waiter did ask if everything looked okay and if we needed anything. I was left with no extra butter and no syrup for my pancakes. My mother's toasted wheat bread came after she was nearly done with her breakfast order. The bread was luke warm that it couldn't even melt the jam and butter. I made an Uber eats order andwas notified it was ready for pick up. I arrived at this facility and literally saw my $50 worth of food sitting right next to the hostess stand. I asked 2 older ladies maybe mid 60's I'm here to pick up an Uber eats order. They both asked me to wait which is fine but then after 30 min later no one assisted. The older guy that was working the register was walking by and I asked him for my order he RUDELY brushed me off and kept walking. I stopped him again and told him please check my order. It's a red flag when a restaurant that is normally crazy busy on the weekends is hardly busy at all. Service was ridiculously slow. The restaurant was probably 25% full and it took 20 minutes for us to get our dishes. Breakfast dishes should not take that long to make when the restaurant isn't busy. The pancakes were overcooked. Pancakes should be soft and fluffy. When you tap a knife on the surface of each pancake, it shouldn't sound like it's hitting rocks. Even the waiter was surprised when we asked to send them back. The staff is under-trained. Evidence: Empty water cups. Missing table settings. No syrup - unless you ask. No ketchup for your hash browns or onion rings - unless you ask. Call me high maintenance, but I don't think you should have to ask. I've come here numerous times, and the staff have consistently been unfamiliar with what's on the menu. Example: the menu says the California scramble comes with salsa. There was no salsa brought out... until I asked. The spinach mushroom crepe should come with hollandaise (according to the menu). When no hollandaise came with the omelette and we asked for it, the waiter commented that it doesn't come with it. According to the menu, it does... The menu selections have become noticeably more limited over the years, and the quality has dropped. Though the food was fine (pretty average), I am reluctant to return. The only reason that I'm giving IHOP two stars instead of one is because when done correctly, the pancakes are delicious. read more

I'm giving this Ihop 5 stars, I'd like to give it 6. Not because the food was magnanimous, it was good, and I was satisfied. But no, that's not why. And when I say he was HUSTLING I mean it! He LITERALLY, for the entire hour I was there RAN, HE RAN Between tables! NO EXAGGERATION. Almost like if he slowed down he may not have the strength to continue. Every table just watched him run and then we'd look at each other in disbelief like, "Wait.... what did I just see?" :) My food came fast, exactly what I ordered. The BIGGEST short stack I've ever seen! Everything tasted great and as ppl started to mill in and out, Rob just kept running in between tables. I literally waited about 5 minutes for my drink, was speedy, i didn't say a word and he took it off the bill because HE thought he didn't bring it out fast enough! Bruh....you serious? Had breakfast on 1/7/19. We were seated right away and our server happened to be the manager- Cameron. Exceptional customer service...not just to us but at every table. Maybe they were short cause he was working tables in our section and another one. You could hear him greeting customers as they came in and he remained pleasant through several requests: please turn the heat up, more splenda, extra napkins, more water. This IHOP deserves an awesome review...simply because the food is amazing, unlike the other IHOPS in this area. It's always clean and welcoming. I've never had a menu handed to me after it was used to dispose of a roach, which happened to be running around on the table...::cough::ROCKVILLE::cough:: I've never had unwanted seasoning on my food (hairy chicken fingers, anyone?) or wondered if my omelette was made the day before. I never have to beg for condiments, and wait an unnecessary amount of time. Here's how every visit goes: -I come in, with a friend, usually after a night of shenanigans -We're greeted at the front, and led to a seat of our choice -A waitress comes by immediately, gives us menus, and waits a minute or two for a decision on our drinks -After about 5 or 10 minutes, we place an order -The food arrives after 15-20 minutes. Sometimes it takes a little longer, but it's ALWAYS fresh, served correctly, and delicious -We stuff our faces, while the kind waiter/waitress asks about the food quality -We nod our heads up and down that its good -He or she smiles, then walks away -We finish our meal, ask for the check, pay at the front, and leave. Its very simple. Good food. Good customer servies. A clean environment...all in a 24-hour location that will never judge the time you walk in. What more could you ask for from an IHOP? Those who follow me know that I am not a fan of IHOP, but I have to admit that this one is the exception. The only reason we went to this one was someone in my traveling group to the DMV was snooty and did not want to eat at the diner we went to previously and usually go (see Tastee Diner review), and being that it was 8AM Sunday, nothing else was open. Well, snooty person (he was a jerk in general anyway) had a complaint about our waitress and the way his egg was prepared (Hey, it was sunny-side up, how do you expect it to be prepared?), but the experience was great for the rest of us. Our waitress was amazing, chock-full of southern charm and sass. She greeted us all warmly, got our beverages quickly, and took all 5 of our orders without having to write it down. Meanwhile, we saw her in action with other customers, greeting them by name and knowing what their usual orders were - asking about their kids, family, etc. Apart from the great service, the food was quite tasty at this IHOP. We enjoyed our meal (except for snooty boy) and were not rushed even though it was a busy weekend morning. I wished I remembered our waitress' name so I could honor her here, but we will add this IHOP as one of our spots when we come down to the DMV annually. read more
