So my three stars are not a reflection of the food. The food is consistent with most every other IHOP location. We have come to this location several times for breakfast on the weekends. There is always a wait and a very crowded lobby to be seated. The manager is awesome and does his best to accommodate everyone. The issue I always have is once seated the servers are hit or miss. Most folks know of the IHOP experience. If not with your family growing up, surely after the last call or after the movies show their last feature (usually after midnight until 3 in the morning. IHOP has breakfast foods and American classics, it's specialty is pancakes as the acronym boasts. Other dishes depend mostly on the chef/s, this IHOP has some good ones. I thought I would write this in a shoutout for the delivery food. I have ordered IHOP through GRUBHUB and my experiences (8) have all been great. Hot food, fresh and packaged with resealable plastic multi leveled containers that keep the eggs and bacon separate from the top level pancakes, toast in separate individual container. Other non breakfast foods such as beef tips are good cuts of marinated beef that are prepared as requested; well done, medium, medium rare, etc... vegetables are delicious and fresh. In my opinion this tried true diner'esque restaurant is not trendy, fancy or exotic, but for good food with good portions, served hot at a good price IHOP has my vote. Every time I order food from them I'm pleased and don't have that question of "was that really worth it?" after I get my food, it's always tasty and what I like homemade food to be without emptying my wallet! read more

This IHOP was the best by far I have been to. I had the build your own breakfast and it was delicious and also pretty warm. The restaurant was clean and it had a peaceful ambiance. Our server was also kind and she was prepared for our check and boxes. I didn't have to wait long. This IHOP location has just went down in customer service. Just went around 3:20 am today the 16th of June. Server was extremely rude. Didn't set up my table, served food as if he had some form of contempt, had to let him know once he did serve the food that it's really important to have utensils. Once I ate the subpar brioche French toast, I had to call on him more than once for the check only to be ignored. I had to resort to leaving my table and ask what seemed to be the night manager for the check ( he was dressed in black). It goes without saying that I didn't leave a tip and I'm not going back. Wanted to try a place other than Panera for breakfast and some laptop. No WiFi and no electrical outlet either-- they are located on the ceiling, which definitely tells laptoppers to stay away. Got the message. Will not try it again. Service good. They train servers well at IHOP. read more

This place is remarkably, consistently bad. I occasionally pick up something here because it's on my way home and I sometimes like breakfast for dinner. You can always count on two things- you're either not going to get what you ordered or you're going to get an incomplete order, and, 2). the employees are going to treat you like they wish you were dead. Oh! They're also going to stand in the door way of the kitchen and glare at you for awhile before asking you why you're there. I once ordered the steak burger and ended up with a cowboy burger that was nothing short of disgusting and tonight I was given bacon instead of the sausage I ordered. When I walked in tonight, I waited my requisite time of being glared at from the kitchen, was asked what I wanted, the surly woman then gets my order, hands it to me and says, "Here. Bye". it's almost comical how much they hate their customers and their absolute inability to give you what you ordered. Just know going in that the employees hate you and probably wish you were dead, and, they are going to give whatever they feel like giving you, and, you'll be fine. read more

This place has improved drastically over the years from a previous review I gave of a lowly 1 star to its now lustrous 3 stars. Still not great, but it's just an ihop after all. My friend and I came here for brunch. They said our wait would be no more than 15mins. We did come here during prime lunch time on a Saturday but that is no excuse. We waited for what felt like 30 mins and we still weren't called. So instead, we walked over to Friday's and were waited on as soon as we walked in, no more than 30mins. This was my first time at this particular location but our server Kiana was a total gem. The food was cooked and brought to my table in a timely manner and my glass was never left empty. This is actually a really nice Ihop! Its spacious and clean (no funny smells like I've smelt at some of the others in the area) and the service is fast.I've never had any problems with the food here either and the times that I went,the food was fresh and hot and the fruit was fresh and and didn't have that sitting out for to long and soggy feel to it .My family and I (if we have time) actually go out of our way to drive all the way up here! The reason why I put 4 stars is because some of the employees can show a little bit more emotion (like cracking a smile) but other wise this is a nice family friendly Ihop that we will be back to. read more

Only 1 star to write this review. The food took 45 minutes to arrive. My daughter's food was served on a to go lid. Her french toast was cold. My sides came without the french toast. I waited an additional 10 minutes for the french toast. I asked for it without whip cream. They messed that up. The waiter was apprehensive about fixing it. Worst service ever. Thank you IHOP for making my birthday breakfast a stellar experience! I came here last Friday with my grandfather and cousin hoping to have some delicious birthday pancakes, boy oh boy did I get so much more than I ever hoped for! I order the chocolate chip pancakes, with a whipped cream smiley face because it was my birthday. About half way through the absolutely perfect and delectable pancakes, a few of the staff members came over with a bowl of ice cream and sang happy birthday to me!!!!! Love it! The best IHOP in the Rockville/SilverSpring immediate area that we have tried. We ordered an array of items, and we thought all of the food served was great. My Steak Omelette and pancake were amazing, can't wait to go back! Also, their was a WAIT... However, it was well managed, and we waited, but not too long at all. I had a most excellent French toast breakfast at this location. The banana and strawberries an top were utterly delicious as well. My husband and I have been to plenty of Ihop restaurants, there actually is one literally up the block from us but we decided to try a different one. We came to this IHOP and I must say the service here is exquisite. Yes, like any normal IHOP they are very busy on weekends and we had to wait, which is fine, you should always expect to wait at an IHOP on the weekends. We waited about 20 minutes to get seated like they stated when we walked in. We got seated and the manager took care of us. This manager was magnificent, I really enjoyed seeing him involved as if he were a waiter himself and not like most managers that belittle there staff just because they have the title as a manager. I usually come in late at night (after 12:30am) and always receive amazing service. I'm finally writing a review to explain just how great the staff is because of something I, as a restaurant manager, feel needs to be recognized. A woman was here when I came who was rather upset. Regardless of her rude and inappropriate statements the waitress I am often surged by (Jasmine) handled the situation with poise and positivity. Her answers where always to the point and respectful. When the manager (Kiana) came to resolve the issue she exhibited very polite and calm responses to the guest which many managers I have seen in other places would have struggled with. I look forward to continuing my dinning experiences at this location where great staff and well trained managers make a difference. We came in with a party of nine. To save you all the expense of reading a boring review... the service was prompt and CORRECT (a big deal for me). Granted it is an Ihop... our waitress was curious and kind. the only reason i cant give it 5 stars is because of the WAIT!
