It's IHOP, so I don't go here expecting gourmet cuisine. That being said I've been here several times over the past few years and am definitely a fan. Service is usually friendly and efficient (there have been a few times where they've been understaffed). Food is solid and seems to have actually been improving recently. The hash browns are consistently well browned these days and the other sides are reliable as well. I always stick to breakfast food here but it rarely disappoints. It happens every time WITHOUT FAIL, I order a bacon cheeseburger to-go, and every time it is missing the bacon (which I pay for). Needless to say, I have learned the hard way to check specifically for bacon presence before leaving the building. I came here on 7-16-16 around 4:15am, it was busy, and of course NO BACON on the bacon cheeseburger that I ordered. I seriously think that the cooks are told to try to not put the bacon on so they get $11.49 for a cheeseburger which should only cost $9.99 according to the menu (highway robbery anyway). I am shocked and appalled by all of the criticism this I-Hop has received. The staff is wonderful! They are always friendly and conversational and most seem to have a great sense of humor. It's an I-Hop, so the atmosphere is not a work of art, but it is welcoming. The staff always lets my boyfriend and I opt for a booth, and we kick back and observe the clientele, which ranges from college kids to transients who fall asleep while eating their pancakes. It's a slice of life. Oh, and if you are like me and try to count your calories, just get toast or some scrambled eggs. They won't hassle you for not getting a gut-busting omelette. read more

First of all, if you're there at night, ask for Donald. I've been going for about two years and he always sits down with my boyfriend and I for a while to ask us how we're doing, plus, he's good about remembering what our "usual" is, even after it's been a while. Other than that, it's a basic IHOP, but Donald truly makes the place great. Most of the other staff there are nice as well. I once asked for more whipped cream on my hot chocolate, and they brought the entire can over, poured more on the cocoa, and then left it behind so I could have as much as I wanted. I have been eating at IHOP since 1967. I have appreciated its consistent food and reasonable cost. This location simply has outstanding service. But the menu and prices have skyrocketed. For years, I have ordered pecan waffles but no longer, sadly. Instead I ordered a bacon waffle off the menu, thinking it would be about $12 or so. I was shocked to see a pre-tax total of $17. The manager explained they had put an entire side of bacon inside the waffle instead of it being pat of a preset deal. They very flexibly accommodated my surprise by deleting the $6 bacon. Very nice people in a very busy place. Next time I will read the menu. read more

Yup, it's a little bit rough around the edges. Not in the best neighborhood and I've seen some characters dining there, but it's the only IHOP for miles and still worth it. I've had my ordered messed up a couple of times which is why I only gave four stars, but the staff is VERY friendly and had fixed it right away. IHOP is underrated and so delicious. Before my most recent visit 3 years ago, I couldn't help but notice how dirty the dinning room was, and the marginal service provided, but upon my most recent visit 12/4/2012, I was pleasantly suprised to see an interior makeover.The service (Andrea) was the best I have ever had at any Ihop location, I was greeted by 3 Ihop associates upon arrival. Went to IHOP on Madison street yesterday for their 56th Anniversary and ordered the 56 cent short stack and the quick 2 entree breakfast and kids meals... The pancakes were alright... They were a little over cooked but sitll good. The waiter though... He tried carrying 5 plates at the same time and ended up dropping my toddlers grilled cheese sandwich. He said they would recook it. which they did... but she didnt get the sandwich for around 10 mins. Food are the same, I mean you go to every iHop they'd be all the same quality so I won't complain about it. The only thing that really drag my rating down is the very very poor costumer service. Free parking, but limited amount of spaces available with their small parking lot. Wait time was less than five minutes. Friendly and patient waiters. Ordered the Rooty Tooty Fresh and Fruity. Delicious until the very last bite. Blueberry pancakes with whipped cream was pretty yummy! The tv commercials say come hungry and leave happy, which is apparently true for the most part. Server was kinda rude by just throwing the food at the table. The eggs we ordered got mixed up in two different plates, but they were so busy. Place was packed with so many hungry customers! after one too many late nights at chop suey i use to think IHOP was great because they give you 6 different types of pancake syrup to choose from and they give you an entire craft of coffee. however after eating here sober I've realized that food is god awful and the pancakes suck. ...and no one needs an entire craft of coffee, especially at 2 am. read more

Okay, so let me just say that this was my first experience with IHOP. Normally, I'm not a very big breakfast kinda person so this was a huge change in my diet for the day. Anywho....so parking was efficient, and it's right beside Seattle University. The location is open 24 hours. The waiters/waitresses were very cheery. We got seated quickly and got our orders taken. Now came the waiting part - this part took forever. Literally forever. The couple next to us who ordered after us and ordered MORE, got their food out before ours. They finished their meal before we even began. So, instantly, I'm in a not-so-good mood. However, once our meal came out - I was shocked that the pancakes didn't taste nearly as good as I thought they would. They tasted...well...mediocre. Same with the bacon, and the cup of joe that tasted like a regular cup of joe. Nothing surprisingly fantastic, just your average breakfast. But a pricey one. Overall, service was good, dining facilities good, and the food was average. I think I'll pass next time and make my own pancakes. read more

My husband and I went here at about 5am in the morning on our way to work..We shared an one of those new scrambles(HUGE)and got an extra side of pancakes..I had heard about the pumpkin ones off here and was looking forward to them..unfortunatly i never ate them or i should say i had one bite and it sucked..I found a hair on it when first placed on the table i didn't throw a fit..it happens, but i did ask them to remake some..they were talking about how i did it so i would get free food..i guess they didnt realize i'm blonde and it was black. ::shrug:: when i FINALLY got the new ones they were raw in the middle..the outside was all nice and crispy brown but the inside oozed..EW...i will say the scramble was pretty good..the other side of regular pancakes were standard..but that's about it..the waitress was pretty standard :what can i get you" is that all"have a nice day: and thats about it...so yea..overall rather mediocre but what can you expect? I wish I could give zero stars. It was Saturday night at 3 am...busy. They seemed to have plenty of servers but they were all running around like they'd never seen a rush before after the bars closed. Food was ok, what they brought to us anyways..forgot half of one persons order, gave her a 10% discount when 1/2 her meal was missing. They made the table next to us move to a smaller table while they were EATING their food to fit a larger group in. Poor customer service, subpar food. read more

The food at this location is standard for IHOP but always tastey and comforting. I will also say that the parking lot is terrific since it's a high-density location with virtually no free street parking! But, overall, what I LOVE about this place is the wait staff. They are always friendly. If they recognize you they are even MORE friendly. They come to the table often. They smile. Sometimes they banter. On 3/29/11 my sister and I ordered two Egg/Bacon combos. Because we asked for toast instead of the pancake we were charged double the listed price. The waitress refused to do anything even though we specifically asked for the combo. If we had not needed to be at a doctor appt in 10 minutes we would have requested the manager. Either she is not too bright for a waitress or the management of that restaurant really needs to re-think their policies. read more

I come here with my girlfriend and her daughter pretty frequently on weekends, and as funny as it may sound, this IHOP has a level of service you don't find at many high-dollar restaurants. The staff is always great, and the food is surprisingly good. Well-done! read more
