This was my second time at this location where it took over 10 minutes for someone to even realize we were standing at the register to be sat. Both times, they were nowhere near busy. Lots of empty tables and booths. Today, the lady came around the corner and mouthed "oh s***" because there were 2 parties (of 2, not even big) waiting to be sat. Candace our waitress was so good to us and tried her best to please us but the restaurant is garbage, the food was not so bad but very cold and my husband ask for crispy hashbrowns and got the most nastiest and soggy hash brown . What's even more sad is that the waitress went to tell the managers of the situation and she didn't even come to say sorry and offer a 20% for the onions a total of 11 cents. Service here is horrible again. The wait time is horrible and too long. I almost got skipped again just getting seated. Then realized after like 20-30 minutes that no one has come to even give us a menu or take our drink and food orders yet. Had to call a waiter to ask who my waiter was. She went to go ask someone. Then had to wait another 15 minutes just to finally get a waiter take my order with still no menu given. I had to ask for a menu then placed my order. I really wanted to just leave and go to Denny's but my daughter wanted to stay so we stayed. A lot of the times I come it seems as if they do not have enough staff for the amount of customers they get. If there was another ihop closer then I wouldn't come here at all. Stay away from I Hop at Bellaire & 99 in katy. Tried it out for third time because we saw cars in parking lot which is rare. No improvement. Staff fooling around and more occupied with each other than customers. Long wait time for the order and longer to get a bill. Manager seen yelling at staff to stop socializing and get back to work. Food is not up to par with I Hop at I-10 & Fry Road. Really an unpleasant experience. read more

Multiple areas had plenty of random scraps littering the floor that needed sweeping. For how slow it looked, I don't know why that couldn't have been handled. Mom mentioned an odd smell that was present. She mentioned that it was present on a previous visit. It's not unbearable, but one you can do without. STAFF: It took a few minutes before we were greeted by a host/hostess. It didn't seem that busy to have been waiting at all. We were served by Jessica today. She was very receptive to ALL of our requests, so thank you Jessica. FOOD: My family loves their coffee, but the coffee that was served was more water than coffee. After receiving a new pot, we were satisfied to see that it met are standards. Orange juice was also a beverage for me to drink, but I only drank half. That was watery as well. I chose to dine on the 2x2x2 (pancakes x eggs x sausage). Pancakes were as good as I remember. Soft enough that I didn't need to use my knife to cut. Sausages were just right. The eggs were disappointing though. They just didn't taste right. I should have asked to pay extra cost for real eggs. As of now, this wouldn't be the goto Ihop for dining. So I've seen reviews of the IHOP by Kroger and I should have believed them. But we went today anyway after getting our covid shots. We walked in and even through our masks it had an odd smell. After 5 minutes of waiting to be seated, here comes a young man. He seats us, I try to order a coke, they have Pepsi. Nope. Orange juice? Nope. Coffee? Yes. That coffee was the worst. There were 2 other tables. It was just terrible. We didn't even get food. We just had coffee and left. Now we're on our way to the IHOP in Sugarland because my husband wants the new bacon they have on the menu. Keep in mind I understand that restaurants are short staffed during this time. There was about 5-6 people just sitting in the back talking and laughing. The restaurant was nowhere near busy. If it had been it would be no big deal. But this was just ridiculous. Normally I am the type that writes very positively because I know how hard the restaurant industry is on staff, but wow. Even the most optimistic person cannot explain this in a positive way. It's fathers day and we get it- it's going to be busy. A 30 minute wait time is perfectly normal, so we wait and they have a lovely waiting area. From there, it takes a rapid descent. We finally are led through a sporadically seated restaurant with half of the tables littered with dirty dishes and cups but very few have people eating at them, to a small room where another family is seated and eating. The other tables in that room are equally dirty. For 30 minutes, no one says anything to us. No "Hi how are you today?" or "Hello, a server will be with you shortly." We begin to joke that they took us to this room because this is the room where they seat the forgotten people. We wait another 10 minutes and watch as two other tables in the main restaurant are seated and drink orders are taken. Meanwhile, we are waiting and no one even acknowledges us. We ordered a delicious breakfast. French toast, eggs with cheese and turkey bacon. The other order was a stack of pancakes and a Colorado Omelette. Liked everything but the decaffeinated coffee. I think it was the blue sugar masquerading as Equal. The coffee had a bitter taste. Really enjoyed the pancakes and French Toast.the best though. The waitress Alexander was a delight. Prices have risen of course, the quality of food is consistently good. Depends on the day, but staff turnover seems to be an issue. We did notice on our last visit that a few sugar ants were on the sticky syrup dispenser. We brought it to our waitress attention and she replaced it with another sticky dispenser. I've written a Google review about this particular iHop and even made suggestions to help them get better. Nothing has changed, the service is lousy and they make excuses for the poor service. I Door Dash with my wife for side cash, today we waited 30 minutes to get an order for a customer who placed their order via the Door Dash system and by the time we arrived, this iHop hadn't yet started the order. I spoke with the hostess who said that the order is being processed, but had no idea when it would be ready for us to deliver. Things like this cause our driver ratings to drop, and there's nothing we can do as a delivery driver. What's worse is that it affects our tips. May I suggest a dedicated food delivery manager for serviced like ours so our customers will receive their food in a timely manner and still warm. read more

Worst ihop i have visited, i came the first time when I first moved to this side of town a couple years ago drinks were served and order went out, we waited for almost one hour before we decided to walk out ( restaurant wasn't very busy so that wasn't a excuse) One bad experience "we thought" so we decided to give it another try, same scenario, not a busy time walked in with family, ordered drinks and food, drinks came out and again about 45 minutes later food arrives to table and 3 out of 5 plates are wrong...... Walked out again after paying for drinks (all sodas) because drinks aint free said the manager. Needless to say I will drive 10 more minutes to go to sugarland IHOP next time my kids want that.
