We stopped at the Pooler location this morning on our way to Charleston because we've had good experiences here in the past. Unfortunately, this visit was disappointing. We arrived on Sunday, 12/21, between 7:00-8:30 AM and waited about five minutes before being acknowledged and seated. When we were seated, I asked for coffee. The person who sat us brought the coffee and said your server would take your order shortly. When the server arrived, she did take our order and mentioned the smaller menu option, which worked well for us since my husband and I planned to share a meal. We ordered an omelet and pancakes, which were very good. However, the service after that fell short. When the food was delivered, there was no extra plate for sharing. We asked for one, and the server said "okay," but it was never brought. Throughout the rest of the meal, there was little to no follow-up. Additionally, when the server initially took our order, I mentioned that the men's bathroom was out of toilet paper. By the time we left, it still had not been addressed. I ended up having to get a roll from the women's restroom for my husband. The men's and women's bathroom's were very messy and appeared not to have been cleaned, with overflowing trash. I noticed 2 server on staff when we arrived and four by the time we left, so staffing didn't seem to be a factor--but overall, while the food was good, the service and restroom conditions were lacking at multiple levels, which was disappointing given our prior positive visits. In addition a man was sleeping in a booth next to where we sat. The 3 stars is because of the food otherwise it would have been a 1 star if that. read more

First we were seated at a table that had syrup all over. I had to asked for a wet rag to clean it. Coffee was cold and watery. Fries were old. We asked for onion rings and we were told that they didn't have onion rings we also asked for chicken strips and we were also told that they didn't have any. I aiways try to give positive or constructive feedback on these things. So let me give the negative first. 11 years in the restaurant business from dishwasher/busboy up to corporate trainer. So I think my feedback comes from an expert level. When I entered the store I was greeted quickly by to hosted and seated within 7 minutes. Once seated, it took nearly 20 minutes for the server to find me. It was as the hostess decided to take my order since I was sitting close to the front. It took another 15 minutes to get coffee and orange juice. Then another 17 minutes to get my initial order of an omelette. Toast came later, gravy later, butter later. Seeing a pattern here yet. In that time I watched two separate parties leave due to lack of servers even recognizing them while they sat and waited at their tables. I also saw the Manager on Duty playing Expeditor while his front end was falling apart. This was primarily due to lack of oversight and a clear lack of urgency. From the time I ordered until I could eat was over an hour. Here's my take on this. First and foremost the manager should have been up front. He had 5 servers and a hostess for a Saturday morning. If he was shorthanded in the kitchen and playing the Expeditor he should have assigned a lead cook to play both parts. If he had been on the floor, he could have guided the servers more effectively. The hostess could have transitioned over to being a busser to rotate out the tables and ran drinks. This would have allowed him to be the Host and monitor the store where he would have been best served. I hope this helps. read more

I and 2 of my friends waited at least 10 minutes to even be acknowledged ( funny the manger opened. The door for us) After that the visit went down hill. As I said I've eaten in IHOP all over the country ! We waited to be seated the "Hostess" took her sweet time. The restaurant wasn't busy. We asked for a table. She sat us. It didn't happen and we kept looking at the Hostess who was now sitting with two other women folding napkins making setups and Gossiping. I motioned to her she ignored me. Our waitress showed back up to join Ike coffee clutch. Now we'd be sitting there 1/2 hour. She said. "Did you take their order" She smirked. " no. Not yet " I'd had enough. She couldn't even bother to bring our coffee. Nor take our order no.. she just wandered off. I wanted to find the Manager.. instead I said to my friends let's leave .. the waitress looked surprised. And. Said. Oh. Your coffee is coming I looked at her and the hostess in disgust And we left. I've been a reviewer 20 years I have never been treated with such disrespect I could see. This was my worst experience ever the waitress was rushing me and my grandfather and brother to order and once we said something even if we was still looking at the menu he snatched it from us. When dining at this IHOP we experienced Some complications. When we were seated, there were only three families in the establishment. They took our drink order and brought out our drinks after 10 minutes, after that it took them 30 minutes just to place our food order. once the food order was placed it took another 45 minutes to bring out just one meal out of the 4 that we placed and even that meal did not have all of the items that we ordered. After another 10 minutes, the other three meals were brought out we ordered omelettes one omelette had all the ingredients. The second omelette had mostly egg with no meat and the third omelette was small in size with ham tossed on it. we ordered the Colorado omelette that usually comes with salsa. It was missing when we asked for Heinz 57 sauce they said that they did not have it which is weird because all IHOPs have Heinz 57 sauce. when we got our omelette, they didn't even bring out our pancakes that come with the meal. we were not checked on about refills on our drinks no extra napkins. we got the bill and for the omelettes that we got we are supposed to get a complementary side we were charged for a side of hashbrowns although it was a complementary side. The service here was the worst I have ever been to. Never was seated. Arrived at about 10:00 am. There were about 4/5 other parties ahead of us. No one at register. No one to seat us. After 3/4 mins someone came out and said they were seating in 15 mins. Short staffed. Pregnant server had to leave. Ok fine. Understandable. 10:15 comes and she says they are only seating ONE party EVERY 15 mins. Someone asked to speak to manager. Manager isn't in yet. All the people waiting, including us, left. Wonderful experience right at the door! We were greeted with smiles and seated by out server who got both of our beverages right away. Within less than 15 minutes, our food was brought to our table looking excatly as youd expect on the Ihop menu. It was graciously made with love back in the kitchen and was brought quickly by their team. The Bananas ans strawberries were delicious and the fruit were fresh. Everything was brought as expected but just homey and felt like pulling up a chair on your mom's table. Of all of the Ihops i have ventured too, the one in Pooler by the Might Eighth Air Force Museum is by the far the most exceptional and quick compared to other restaurants. read more

Coffee is good. Food is good. Cleanliness NOT! It was sticky hot inside, gnats flying around. The floor is nasty, the tables are barely clean. The servers either don't wear masks or wear them under their noses. They don't follow the "masks required for entry" guidelines posted at their restaurant. They let people come in the store without masks on and don't correct the issue. They didn't give us any napkins. Overall Ihop is running even less efficiently than before the pandemic began. 10:00am we arrive at IHOP. We are greeted by a bundle of staff members behind the counter with very confused looks on their faces. A waitress hands menus and silverware to a tall gentleman and says "seat them". His response was "I do not want to do that". Right at that moment I should have turned around and left but my wife really wanted ihop. He takes the menus and seats us at around 10:02. From 10:02 until 10:45 we received one drink each and we saw our waiter one single time. And that was only to ask "are yall good". I said "no sir we aren't good. It's been 45 minutes since we've sat down and placed our orders. Where is the food?" His response "I don't know. Maybe 5 more minutes". It was at that moment I knew he did not care at all. Go pour concrete if you can't handle food bro. We ate food that starving children would have rejected. The pancakes were soggy and mushy. The hashbrowns were tangy? It wasn't just the keychup. The coffee tasted like burnt hair and was clearly from yesterday. The floor was reminiscent of a movie theater floor. My wife's crocs nearly stayed put when she took a step foward. We stopped at this location because it was convenient to our trip. We should have checked the other reviews before was chose this location because had we done so, we wouldn't have stopped at all. I understand the food service industry is experiencing difficulty in employment at the moment but that is no excuse to not provide accurate food orders when you have a picture of the item ON THE MENU. I ordered the Spicy Shredded Beef Bowl and it looked ABSOLUTELY NOTHING like the picture. I didn't receive shredded beef. I received some sort of tough meat. Besides the meat issue, I did not receive the Poblano Queso or avocado as shown in the picture. It took almost an hour to receive our food so I chose not to press my luck and ask for what I should have received. I was hungry and done with this IHOP location as a whole. Was a very disappointing experience for us. There were only about 5 tables seated including us, and the waitress who served us started out very courteous and friendly but as we were forced to ask for more coffee (only 2 times during our meal), her attitude changed and in the end, turned out to be quite rude. The food got served cold, we had to ask for coffee refill for 3 people (the coffee pot was too small that served only 2-1/2 cups). On Sunday Jan 1 2023 myself and family visited your establishment and if im being completely honest the restaurant should be closed down until every staff has been trained or retrained. For starters we waited almost 20 minutes at the hostess counter to be greeted let alone be seated. There were 3 parties ahead of us that were there when we arrived that had clearly been waiting a while and no one had attended to them either so they all walked out. Literally servers must've walked by us 100 plus times and never even opened their mouth's except for to say excuse me so they could get by because at this point there were about 7 parties still waiting for someone to come greet and seat us. Finally one of the men in one of the parties stopped a server and asked what was going on and if anyone was going to help us and he shrugged his shoulders and kept doing what he was doing. To his defense he was taking an order at table. He went to walk away after though so the guy asked him again and now about 35 mins he went and called the hostess but she didnt come right out so someone else when and got her. When she walk out from what im assuming was the kitchen she was talking on her telephone. I mean a full blown conversation and when she finally did get to the desk we still had to wait until she finished her conversation before she began to seat us. Totally unacceptable on all levels. Manager was no where to be found. The female servers had on headscarves and the bus boys had on hooded sweatshirts with the hoods on their heads. Another server had her little toddler there while she was working and the baby was running all over the restaurant. Every table in the restaurant was dirty and the busboys were sitting down. Now to these young men's defense you can tell they want to work but u can also tell they haven't been properly trained if trained at all. My husband and nephew literally were giving them advice and positive reinforcement because that place most definitely isn't team oriented. The staff in the kitchen we're arguing and yelling and every other word was F this or F that, Again totally unacceptable. I really wish that i had taken a picture of the food they sent out because it literally looked like a kindergartner's finger painting picture and the food was cold and wrong. Now what i will say is that the remake was perfect but i would suggest make it right the 1st time and there will be no need for a remake. Finally let's discuss the manager on duty or lack there of. I did finally see the manager and not because he came to our table but because i heard one of the servers introduce him to a party. This guy was so unkempt. Today, complete opposite at about 2:00 in the afternoon. No one was clearing tables while three staff members were sitting at a table reading their phones. Restaurant was dirty, floor needed to be swept. Food served was cold & not as ordered. Coffee was old & burnt. Had to ask repeatedly for syrup and napkins. Staff members moved to the kitchen and conversations became loud & heated. Apparently someone had brought their child to work, who was in the kitchen & very loud. I come to Savannah one week each month for work. When I saw this IHOP, I changed the hotel I normally stay at to be closer so I can have breakfast each morning. This is the second day in a row. I figured the first day was a fluke. Regardless, it's the same. Three servers have zero sense of urgency. The cook is complaining loudly with colorful language. I sat and ordered but three more tables sat and got their drinks before me. I'll go back to my regular hotel from now on and skip this place. Absolutely horrible service. We decided to go here since it was close to the shopping centers. We waited for a table for about 10 minutes which wasn't long, but once we were seated we waited over 30 minutes and no one came to our table. I had to stop the hostess to ask for a glass of water. Waited 20 more minutes and still no water. Finally went to another server that had a completely different section and asked her to take our order. She was nice enough to to take our order and put it in. If it wasn't for us making the initiative to get service we would have never been served. I live in Pooler locally, I remember when it first opened up. I have watched the quality of the food product diminish since then. I order the same thing (Big Steak Omelette with Egg Whites) every time no matter what IHOP I have visited, except the one in West Berlin, Germany. This occasion the entire omelette was cooked to a hard crisp and burnt, I mean the steak was super burnt. The omelette didn't have hash browns inside. Just a little bit of steak and cheese. I only come because my grandkid. Every time I come here, it's been approximately 10 months or so, I am reminded why I shouldn't waste my money and time attempting to support this establishment within my community. read more
