If no stars were an option that's what I would give. This isn't just a one time trip that has gone into this review either. This is multiple times. First there is NO ONE to greet customers. We have to wait in the waiting area for 20 minutes minimum prior to ANY STAFF coming and asking "what we are there for" Every time we come in, there is hardly anyone here, patron wise. There is ample staff and yet the waitresses and some of the kitchen staff are always flirting and playing around together vs taking care of the customers. They don't work on orders until you've had to say something multiple times then you can see them "buckle down" and try to hurry and push the orders out after FINALLY getting sat down, we had to wait over 45 minutes for 2 orders of flapjacks and 2 strips of bacon. After over an hour total of waiting, the food was old, cold, and disgusting. When we asked for the manager (yup Karen) we were told that they would NOT be giving us that information and the girl was extremely rude. We asked again and she told us she "didn't have a manager" and was snotty again. We then left and I called the store. After waiting for over 15 min for someone to answer, SHE answered. We got a to go order. The waitress that took the order over the phone was nice and curteous. Food was done by the time I got there which was 10 mins or so. The server was nice and made sure I had everything we needed to eat it in our motel room. I got the steak tips and eggs, everything was great. Until I ate at this IHOP I thought the onions and mushrooms was just mixed in with the steak tips, these was a actually fresh and cooked with the steak. My wife got the crepes. There was only 2 minor gripes we had, my pancakes wasn't that big(which they wouldn't have fit in the box they came in if bigger) and she didn't think there was enough strawberry sauce on her crepes, which I agree they could have used a little more. And 40 minutes to get a box and our check. I don't even get a refill. And the servers come off rude. We went to our local IHOP; for french toast, & a burger. Hannah was our "everything". She ordered my hot chocolate, so while I was waiting I could enjoy it while it was hot (best hot chocolate EVER!!)!!! She gave us several time checks on our food. Hannah was working the front, getting everyone tables, she was cleaning the booths, & still took the time to apologize for the long wait. We were fine waiting, especially since I had the hot chocolate :). There have been times when we have gone and had crappy service, & a nasty attitude; we where never going to go back to that IHOP. However tonight I was craving the Banana Foster's French Toast Brioche & my nephew was craving a Big Hamburger. But we didn't want to go to two different restaurants. I was greeted by a happy host and greeted by my server within 30 seconds of being sat. MY coffee drink order was no longer than 2 minutes before it was served to me, the waitress even put up with my silly request of caramel on the side for my coffee! I was given my food about 10 minutes after being seated, which didn't bother me too much it was a little bit of a wait but not bad. My server (Jaime) was good at assessing how to check up on her guests as she gave attention to them, and seeing as a was a more conserved guest and enjoyed my alone time and music she left me to it and checked up on me occasionally, without being a bother. Very good and approachable server!!! The only thing that was a bit nerving was I think the manager trying to rush me out of the restaurant. More times than not a guest will stay here in this store anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour. I would recommend not pushing the check on the guest until I've at least stayed for 30 minutes... Well, we ended up here because I couldn't find a table anywhere else nearby. The service was okay but not good enough to compensate for bad food. The only thing on the menu I wanted (spicy chicken sandwich)- they were out of. So I ordered a blue cheese burger and it was terrible. The burger itself was completely tasteless. Wife ordered soup & salad. She ate a few bites of each and lost her appetite. The front desk girl with the choker necklace with the word "SAINT" and risible lashes was not at all customer service oriented. When walking up to her she had a cumbersome look and didn't say a word. I then said "Good Morning, two please," she ignored me and looked down at her seating chart. I then again said, "Good Morning," and she finally said "Good Morning." Not the greatest IHOP, however, our server Alicia was amazing and very sweet. Once we were preparing to leave, we headed to the front and asked another front desk girl by the name of "Merling," I believe, if we needed to pay at the front or with our server. Poorly managed restaurant. We've been here multiple times and always seem to receive the worst service. We come back hoping it will be better, but it never it. Reflects strongly on the management. While the food they brought us was delicious, our stay was not pleasant. It seems as though serving us was on the back burner of our waitress's mind and just wanted us out as soon as possible. She was not friendly, just asked us what she needed to know. She brought us out menus and immediately asked us if we were ready to order. We said no, and she came back about 1 minute later asking again. Again, we were not ready. She also did the same with our check, she brought it to us, came back about 30 seconds later and as I was counting the money in my hand asked if she could take the check. While we were eating, the other staff was very loud. They we yelling to each other their personal conversations that you could hear across the restaurant. One employee was on break watching a music video at full volume behind us. As a company, we decided to go to IHOP at midnight after everyone had gotten off work to celebrate a good work season and everyone's achievements. We arrived as a group of 20, went up to be seated, and were rudely told that we could stay and sit down but they had the right to not serve us food, so they wouldn't let us order anything. They simply didn't want to make food for a group that big I guess. We decided to go somewhere else where the service was much better and they accommodated our group very nicely. My parents and I are from the little town of Vernal, Ut. We were in the city for a high school drill team competition. We tried to stop by the Cracker Barrel, but the wait was a little too long for us to wait this morning before heading back home. So we decided to get some delicious IHOP! We walked in, and were immediately seated which was great. Another table, next to us, walked in about 8 minutes later and was seated as well. We had already decided what to eat, drink, and we're just waiting for a waitress. The table next to us had already received their drinks, had their orders taken, and were just waiting for their pancakes to arrive when we finally had enough. We had not seen a single waitress or anyone who even stopped to ask if we had been taken care of. We decided to walk out after waiting around 25 minutes for a waitress to come to our table. VERY dissatisfied with the IHop in Layton. We are now heading to the IHOP in Woods Cross; hoping they will have a more professional hostess and waitress to serve us this morning. read more

Great service here. I am gluten free but I can eat some every so often. I decided to get a crepe since they are usually very thin.
