My family and i used to go hear when my kids were younger ..especially for by an entree kids eat free!!! Great deal! They used to have a balloon guy come and the kids loved that also. I love the pancakes and bacon! The chocolate pancakes are the best! This place has a nice size menu. The one near me is always packed on,weekends so we go on Friday nights. I'm not fond of the hash browns. Any,kind of pancake you get are Good! IHOP will always give you want you expect. They are consistent with their service, food and overall experience. The service is a little rushed at times as they try to turn tables quickly and the coffee is ok but nothing that will ever wow you. We ate dinner here on an empty weekday night. They serve breakfast all day and it was different. I know it's not a 5 star restaurant, but it's fun to eat here and for $20 you get a lot of food for two people. We had (what else) pancakes and stuff and it was good. The service was very efficient but every time we are here during dinner, it's a bit unprofessional with the staff hanging out with friends at the front of the restaurant. I see other posted a similar comment so I'm not sure why management doesn't address it unless that's their family hanging out at the front of the restaurant by the register. read more

I went here several times with my family. The food is enough to stuff my three male teens. We all liked that we were greeted with a smile, seated in a short time, served food that was not burned or dry and tasted good and it was served with a smile. The place is clean and pretty spacious with a nice, friendly family atmosphere. It was not overly crowded either. Nice place, nice people...and I don't say that often. Sat for 20 minutes before server came to us. Server was very good for the most part when she made an appearance. Ordered the kids pancakes that come with 5 pancakes and bacon. Guess they cant count 1 meal came out with 5 and the other with 4 pancakes but we were almost done by the time she came back to us. She did get us the 1 that was missing. Now to the horrible my wife and I ordered the egg white omlette. When it came it was barely bigger than the monkey dish and looked nothing at all like the picture on the menu. I asked the server is this a joke? Her response was "its 1 egg smaller " We asked the host if the manager was around "yes hes upstairs". We wait and wait no manager. Ask him again if the manager is around just to be dismissed. Ask the girl at the register can we see the manager? "Hes very busy" and we are dismissed again. IHOP rarely disappoints but there's always a first time. I had been craving pancakes and we got off the road to stop here. Pancakes were horrible. They were so thick that I would categorize them as actual cakes. We were going to eat in the car. Ended up eating the eggs and throwing the pancakes out. I guess we'll have to stop again soon to eat. Next time we will stop to eat by the house before we start on our road trip. The one in Valley Stream never disappoints. read more

Waited forever for a server to come to the table. We begged her to bring coffee asap which she promised she would. She disappeared and we had to ask another server to bring our coffee which he had somebody do pronto. The food is typical IHOP food. Dry pancakes, messy greasy eggs and potatoes that were room temperature. Not going back. I went to IHOP this morning because I wanted pumpkin pancakes. There were only three tables with people when I got there. I sat for over five minutes with no service when a pair of people walked in. A waitress went over to help them after a couple minutes, then walked toward me, looked at me, and kept walking. I just walked out. I went to the IHOP in Boonton, which wasn't too far, and had my food in less time than I sat in the Kenvil one without getting service. read more

No one goes to IHOP for a fine dining experience. It's a corporate chain, so once you have been to one all the others will be remotely the same. The breakfast food is better than the dinner entrees. Pleasantly surprised! Visited this facility shortly after shopping in the area. Clean, well-maintained and courteous crew! We were received by a cheerful young lady who seemed to be happy and glad they we were there... not something you usually see in a busy chain restaurant! After seating a young energetic waiter named "Shane" assisted us! Folks do yourself a favor if you ever visit this facility asked for Shane as your waiter, you won't be sorry! Well spoken, cheerful, knowledgeable and just happy to be there! Made great recommendations and was on point with his service and jocular attitude! Don't let the scruffy face, full sleeve tattoos or earrings fool you! This kids a professional and loves people! Kudos to the IHOP Corporation in your managers for hiring and utilizing this gentleman's perfect talents! Although I'm sure he has makes himself a decent dollar with tips... he would better be incorporated into upper management with the professional people skills he executes so perfectly! Just tried going to IHOP for dinner, but ended up walking out after 15 minutes without a waiter coming over to the table. My wife flagged down the host, who went to the back of the dining area where there were 4 servers on the phones bullshitting with each other. The waiter ignored the host and continued texting on his phone for another 2-3 minutes before starting to walk towards our table WHILE STILL TEXTING! I told him to go ahead and continue texting, since we were leaving. Totally pathetic. read more

I work at a business close to this establishment and every morning have ordered breakfast to go here. Last Saturday I called and requested an order and was hung up on 3 times by the same women. She was apparently to busy or just didn't feel like taking a to go order. I let it go just blowing it off as someone having a bad day. So today 12/20/2018 I called in my order at 7:45am and was told by the person who answered the phone that they where not open yet?? This a nationally known breakfast place? There hours clearly state on there website they open at 7am? I called when I got to work to speak t a manager and the manager was not "available" very hard to believe. I will never take my business there EVER again and working at a vibrant local business with tons of business will tell all our customers to never go to this establishment. The woman's bathroom smells so disgusting ... Just doesn't seem like a very clean place at all ... I would not recommend this place at all

I went here a week ago with my family. Our food was fine, what you would expect from IHOP. However, the service was lacking a little. We went around 8 on a Friday night with our 2 children. The hostess was good, she got us seated quickly including getting a highchair for one of my children. The issue was with the serving staff. Our waitress took our order quickly but then pretty much disappeared after we were served our food. It was late so we figured we could get in & out of the IHOP pretty quickly with the kids. We were waiting a long time for our check & eventually had to find another waitress. Another issue I had was that the staff was up front in the restaurant speaking badly about past customers. I understand that they were probably overstaffed at that particular time & everyone complains about their job, but it shouldn't be done in front of the customers. They should do that in the back & not where everyone can hear. I will probably still go there in the future since it's one of the few places I feel people are ok with kids, but I just hope the service is better in the future. read more

I rank this location between a 3 & a 4. My 9 y/o loves the food, especially the silver five and the ice cream. I agree about the ice cream. It tasted really good. The turkey dinner wasn't bad, but it lacked flavor. It was just too plain. Staff were friendly, although it took quite sometime to be waited on after we were seated. There's adequate parking, and a sign in the parking lot to take a picture with, if you're like my 9 y/o and want a picture at Ihop! Good place to go with kids. They will like the menu! read more

The Ihop put a burger in with our breakfast items take-out order by mistake. When I called to let them know what happened and that they could just charge me for the burger, the manager just said to keep it but review it (since it was one of their new burgers). . It was a burger with swiss cheese and was delicious. It was juicy, and without any spices that overwhelmed the taste of the burger or cheese. However, I think it would have benefited from having more toppings. read more

The last time I was there with my friend and her Mother, we spent over $50 for breakfast. Over $50 for breakfast!!! No steak and eggs for everyone, nothing like that. Just normal breakfast food with coffee, over $50. On Christmas Eve morning we went to Rose's in Netcong, ordered basically the same thing, the bill was less than $25. The food was slop over at IHOP, which I like to call ISLOP, and the food was great on Christmas Eve day. Needless to say I'll never go to ISLOP again. read more

A couple years ago my sister and I came here and ordered breakfast. After eating about half my food, I took a forkful of potatoes only to find a big fat dead June bug in them. We alerted the waiter, who only said, "So... uh... what, do you want another one?" NO, I WANT TO EAT THIS BEETLE. Gross! He begrudgingly got us a new breakfast, but by then I had lost my appetite. Nobody apologized or even acknowledged the problem - and when our check came, we were charged full price for everything! At least they didn't charge twice for the breakfast that had to be re-made, I guess, but this could've been handled a lot better. No acknowledgment from the staff or even management that something was wrong, and nobody ever apologized... I still can't get over that. I was talked in to going here recently and the breakfast was fine (no bugs this time), but the lack of service and cleanliness with the bug incident still keeps me from coming back. read more

Usually satisfied with ihop here in kenvil. I decided to go on a Saturday morning and my boyfriend and I ordered crepes (as we usually order) and they seemed more undercooked than usual to where they were slippery and gewy. Another problem is that all the workers who are not working hangout at the tables in the back, just our luck we were seated towards the back, and heard every conversation along with curse words. I thought this was very disrespectful including that there may be kids around. Eating my crepe I've also seen MANY little fruit flies & nats around the restaurant. Had breakfast here on a Sunday morning. Very short wait for 3 of us at 11 am. Less than 5 minutes. Our server greeted us almost immediately and was friendly. All three of us had the country omelette with pancakes as our side, two additional sides of corned beef hash, and two additional sides of toast. Our food took about 20 or so minutes to come out which was understandable with how packed the restaurant was but my gripe was that everything was just barely lukewarm. As our server was putting down our omelettes we heard plates break in the kitchen and were informed that it was our toast plates. No biggie since toast takes no time at all and we had it within 2 minutes of the rest of our meal arriving. Syrups are frustrating because they pour SO slow. Overall our entire meal plus two coffees cost $45 before tip. Seems a bit pricey to me considering how small the omelettes were. But with the small triple stack of pancakes as our side, I can deal. The corned beef hash was just okay. It came out looking totally unappetizing and tasted like the canned stuff. Pancakes were bangin as always and the omelette was good but again way smaller than I was expecting. I'll be back hoping our cold food was just a fluke. read more

Got decaf when I wanted regular coffee and to end it all, got charged for two coffees in the check. Had to make up by ignoring the line that says "tip". This place used to be good, not anymore. We went today around 11am Sunday Dec 9th 2012. The wait staff were pleasant enough but the food was cold, not cooked, had to return. Toast was not toast, it was white bread, eggs were cold, hash browns were a square of total nothing but uncooked potatoes. Very disappointed. They did give my daughter a new dish of eggs and bacon but the toast took 15 minutes. I don't get it, how hard is it to push down a toaster? They did take her meal off the receipt, thank you but we will NOT come back. The ihop is dirty and the bathrooms randomly work. Faucets run. Toilets won't flush. Floors are filthy. Tables are sticky. Needs new ownership with higher standards before i would return. Extremely let down. Ihop should be ashamed to lend its name to such an establishment. read more
