We started jokingly scoring this IHOP and started noticing how many things could be critiqued. Over all this place got a B (84/100). The reason that this had a B was because there was beer bottles outside, it was icy and you could tell nobody was doing anything about it! The initial review said that it was not too busy right now but it was packed with a 30 minute wait with no buzzer no text etc. There was little to no waiting room and people were crowed and loud in there. The manager gave a random person my $47.10 order!!! The manager cannot read. I placed a pick up order via the Uber Eats app. When my husband arrived to the restaurant, the manager proceeded to tell my husband my order was marked for delivery and the Uber Eats driver picked it up. What??? He kept saying it's on the receipt but would not show us the receipt. We showed him my receipt via the app and the order was marked as a pick up order! The manager then says he's calling the Uber driver. When I asked let me talk to the person, he handed me the phone and NO ONE was on it! My husband and I are so frustrated because clearly this manager is playing a game or clearly cannot read. The manager finally shows us the receipt and it says clear as day pick up order and the delivery time for the customer to pick up is 6:22pm. I took a screenshot of the receipt. We confront the manager about this and he stated he will call the cops on me and my husband and that he has no control over Uber Eats app and it's drivers. That was a flat out lie!!!! I told him do not threaten customers with calling the cops because you missed up and cannot read!!!!! He didn't even offer to make the food again or apologize. I've been to this new iHop a few times since it opened. Very nice and clean, very friendly staff. Excellent food for this type of place. I was also happy to discover they have carry out since I sometimes stop in before or after shopping at My Organic Market in the same shopping center. I live about 10 minutes away and was pleased the food was still hot when I got it home. I disagree with the negative things others said about the cleanliness and service. My experience was very good the 2 times I've eaten there. The first time, I was a little overwhelmed by the menu and the waitress was extremely helpful in figuring out how to get what I did want to eat without being stuck with items I don't eat. In addition, the one time I got carryout, the staff person was also very helpful in figuring out which was cheaper to order between the various combinations so that I could end up with just blueberry pancakes, hash browns and scrambled eggs. This place is not that old maybe a year or so, it looks worn out, l walked in and should of walked out. The booth seats are ripped, dirty and stained. I ordered coffee and buttermilk pancakes, just gross, light and fluffy was not the case. Heavy pancakes, not good and one half ball of butter for three glue cakes. I had no idea this place was even here until a friend informed me he was sick of our usual diner and suggested an alternative. It hasn't been here for very long, and it seems this shopping center at the corner of RT1 and 175 is growing rapidly. The grand kids wanted to eat at ihop. While the food was typical ihop, the atmosphere was a total disgrace. A large group of eight adults and six children were very noisy and disruptive. Other patrons were visibly annoyed as were we. The management made no effort to quiet them. Allowing one group to disrupt the entire restaurant is a management failure. My grandson turned 13 years old today and we decided to take him out for breakfast at a newly opened IHOP in Jesup Maryland. We arrived around 930am and was quickly seated. As we followed the seater to booth in the rear of the restaurant, we noticed the spacious interior allowing room for walking between tables and booths; which was greatly appreciated. The number of waiters and waitresses were complementary to the amount of customers seated and arriving; however, due to growing pains of a new establishment, confusion as well. After placing our order with Monique, we observed an unhappy customer speaking with a waitress and then sharing her experience with another customer. Our waitress Monique was very attentive and professional even after we asked about the status of our food, 30 minutes later. She explained that the cooks were overwhelmed with the steady flow of food orders and I also assumed; corrections in orders. The manager spent most of his time in and out of the kitchen; I assume making sure the food was getting out on-time and correct. When our food did arrive, it was tasty and cooked correctly except for Angel's hash browns (over cooked) and fruit bowl (fruit did not seem to be washed) and was removed from the bill. We plan to return to this IHOP and expect as it blossoms to a restaurant chain that can handle the influx of customers; so shall the service and food. read more

Our server, Lucy, was great but I'm not sure what was going on in the kitchen. If we have to wait that long for food, then it better be hot! We've been here a couple times. On the weekends it is super busy and LOUD. The service is usually sub-par but not always. The food is usually prepared well and tastes great (lots of calories I'm sure). The last time we went the temperature inside was quite cool, but it was SUPER humid. Like all of the menus and tables were slightly sticky because it was so humid. Even the salt shakers were all clumped up and unusable because they were wet inside with condensation (we tried four different salt shakers!). It was so weird - I have no idea how that happened but it made the place super uncomfortable to be in. Also one thing that kind of bothered me - the waitress had like 8 pictures of her kids on the inside flap of her order book. My son wanted to come here for breakfast. We were seated after waiting less than 1o minutes. Once seated, it took our server 15 minutes to come take our drink order. We also placed our food order for fear we would have to wait even longer. Our food came out after 20 minutes. I was bought the wrong pancake order and our turkey bacon was under cooked. The server just said "oh I thought it looked funny" She took our turkey bacon and just nuked it in the microwave. Halfway through my correct order of pancakes, I saw they were also under cooked. Another, negative our server never came back to see if we needed a refill, never gave us napkins or checked to see how everything was going. We went to this location last night (03/04/15) on national Pancake Day! I was dinning with my husband and sister, we had a great time. My husband was just a little disappointed his favorite meal was taken off the menu (Pigs in blanket) . The restaurant was extremely busy and our waiter Parasa was Phenomenal! Friendly, checked on our table often, and made sure we were taken care of. Parsa was attentive, polite and energetic despite what can be seen as a overwhelming rush of people. Our order and service was timely. I cannot stress enough how impressed we were with our waiter Parasa, he is the reason we will be returning! Promote him he's management material. read more

We had a good experience. I was a bit skeptical because of all the negative reviews. BUT, I love IHOP so I was down for it. We were seated immediately. Which was a surprise since the parking lot indicated it was crowded and it was NYE. Our server Naya, came to our table and immediately took our orders. She was very pleasant and managed to handle all four of us that included 2 teenaged boys. Our food came out in good time. The only 2 things that I didn't like were the not so clean flatware. I asked for hot water & lemons to soak them and I didn't get hot syrup. I had to wait for her to heat it and by then, I needed it because my pancakes were cold. The manager came over to ensure everything was going well. Overall, I will be back because the service & food were good. The hostess gave us our check and took our payment. We never got refills nor did anyone check to see if we needed anything additional or if the food was to our liking. i love this ihop and i live in the community. the food is always great as well as the service. but today i experienced eating my brunch with someone else's dog! i asked the manager, "was the dog a service dog?" and she responded, "yes." the dog arrived in a baby stroller. what service dog rides around in a baby stroller!? the dog would jump out of the stroller onto the floor, hop on the bench seat, shake it's hair and hop back in the baby stroller! what service dog does that!? i'm a dog lover and i love them. but i perfer not to eat my food with someone else's hopping around, shaking so called service dog! i'm quite upset as i pay my bill and dought very seriously that i will return! unbelievable! read more

Despite my better judgement, we went to IHOP in Jessup yesterday for breakfast. Having two completely awful experiences at this location, I didn't think it was possible to have a third terrible visit, but this one was by far the worst. We were seated relatively quickly, which was refreshing after the previous two visits of hostesses arguing with each other between the stand and the cash register refusing to seat customers in an otherwise half-full restaurant. After being seated, it took 20 mins to get water. Our waitress forgot the coffee, then forgot the soup, and was visibly missing from her section which looked to be about 4 tables. An hour later we were still without food and she informed us that half the kitchen staff had walked out--which was exactly what our waitress told us on our second visit (?). Another 15 minutes passed, and my 4 y/o twins were beyond restless. My food and my husbands food came (a soggy BLT in oil and a cold, dry omelet) When I asked about the kids' food, the waitress said they were still making it--two chicken tenders with a fruit cup-- Seriously, how hard is that?! Their food came nearly 10 minutes after ours. I was furious with no manager in sight, and decided not to say anything as I wasn't sure I could control my frustrations. I quickly paid (shockingly, she was around for that...) and took my twins to the restroom where an employee was on her way out after I saw her checking the stalls. The first regular stall had exposed wires hanging from the automatic toilet, so I went to the handicapped stall and found a cigarette butt in the bowl and more exposed wires. (Let's just say I'm glad my children stand up to pee.) After three complete and utter fails, we will NEVER be back to this IHOP. I went to GMU and spent a good part of my college life in the Fairfax, VA IHOP. It's been months since this location opened and these kinks should have been worked out ages ago. I spent years in the restaurant business and this isn't rocket science - it's training your people to do what is needed and holding them accountable to the standards that you set. I would not recommend going here late at night. I don't know what was going on but it took an hour to get our food. When it arrived the food was cold and just looked sad. We sucked it up though and just waited for the bill. This took another hour...at this point our patience was getting low as my group and I were all tired and had just gotten off of work. When we FINALLY got our receipt he charged us for pancakes that were given to us due to HIS mistake of not getting my friend the cinni-stack the first time around. So I had to speak with him to fix our check. It took another 30mins to try to correct this error as he was dealing with other upset customers. I understand our server was new but that doesn't excuse the crappy kitchen and lack of training for our server.
