What a mess! We went there on a Saturday afternoon around 2 with our 2 young granddaughters. The restaurant was about 25% full but about half more tables had not been cleared. They told us it would be 15 minutes before we were seated even though the restaurant was mostly empty. There were numerous servers, it didn't look like they were low on staff. It took quite a while for us to get our orders taken and the little girls were restless. We wanted waffles but their machine wasn't working. They gave us plastic cups because the dishwasher wasn't working. My husband got a cheese omelette with 3 slices of gold American cheese (not melted) on top. Well the food was just fine. The fruit portion was lonely and sad though. Went for brunch with the hubby. Our waitress almost forgot to get his drink order, no big deal normally since I ordered two drinks for myself. Passable. The note that read "thank you ladies" on our receipt (that was brought ENTIRELY too early) - not passable. Definitely didn't feel "special" eating here. Saturday morning at 11. Parking lot was half full. Get inside there are 15+ people waiting to be seated, I look around and see 70% of the booths are open with no one at them. Stand there waiting to be seated behind 2 other small groups. No one comes. No one acknowledges we are even there. You can blame Covid all you want for staff issues, but that the end of the day it's just piss poor service. Won't be returning any time soon. We were seated right away but not waited on for a long time. We finally asked for a waitress. There was no silverware on the table even after our food was delivered. There were several other tables in our section that had not been waited on. A waiter had to step in and pick up one of our waitresses tables. My husband ordered a milkshake, she said the ice cream was still hard. What? The wait staff apparently have to bus their tables which kept our waitress from checking on us after dropping off the food. Dirty tables everywhere. The food was good! read more

The wait is long. Service is slow and food is poorly prepared. I ordered an omelet which was mostly dry eggs with no toppings. When I complained about my order the manager agreed to comp the omelette. The waitress had to be sent back three times to correct the ticket and continued to argue that she was right. I've been here numerous times and there is a new Sheriff in town ... it was a true restaurant experience. Now it's still iHop but at its finest. I didn't feel like I was a bother and my food was fresh and genuinely made to order. I hadn't chosen to come here very often for many reasons, but today was great! HAIR IN OUR FOOD!!! Gross ,nasty ,ugh, horrible makes me sick to think about it. I went with a friend this past Sunday and it was a complete shock. The service wasn't great but just ok. But when our food came to our table both his plates had hair in them. Beyond nasty so if you decide to eat here check your plates. I WILL DEFINITELY NEVER EAT AT THIS PLACE AGAIN! I went with a group of 5 people all buyers for HPMK got seated quickly was asked what we wanted to drink everyone said coffee. It's 7:15 am in the morning restaurant was only a third full if that. Coffee took 15 minutes. I should have guessed then that this wasn't going to be good. Our food was a collection of omelettes and pancakes which took 45 minutes after we ordered, it was 8:10 and only after we complained that we got the food. We had to wolf it down as we all had appointments at 8:30 we had to get too. Out with the kids grabbing a late dinner with other mom friends and kids. Walk in and the hostess/waitress immediately "oh my god" turns around and heads to the kitchen to gossip to the cooks. Heads back and says it will be 30 min wait because they are short staffed. I was in the mood for breakfast for dinner, and I found myself close to IHOP and just went right on in. For starters I was glad to see their sanitation grade was 95 because I've seen it lower, which is why I rarely eat here. The host was nice, though a little insulting. I will just say I am not a small girl. I am big enough to admit that. See what I did there!?!?That said while I appreciate that his intentions were likely good, he told me he was gonna put me in a big booth where I could be comfortable. I promise I would have no trouble fitting into any of their booths. It is not like I weigh 250 pounds for goodness sake! While he was sitting me in this massive booth that would accommodate a family of six, he was sitting families of four and five in a smaller booth. Again I assure you that was not necessary! I had to slide to another ZIP Code to reach the condiments! Getting to the food, the tea, unsweet to help me fit in the darn booth, was old. It had that 'been sitting out all day and starting to sour' taste about it that a true tea lover such as myself recognizes and loathes. The bacon was very under-cooked. It wasn't that it was simply not crispy, it was practically raw. I rarely send anything back but I asked the waiter to exchange it for some that was done. He came back with the very same plate of bacon that I had sent back, it was just very done this time. I know this because there was a half piece that I had taken a bite off of and just a little odd-shaped piece that broke off of another piece. It was identical. This means folks he took bacon that I had bitten off of and put it back on the grill. I am no expert, but I'm thinking that might be a health code violation. If it's not, it should be. Additionally there was pancake batter or something all over the bacon which was really very disgusting. My waiter was friendly and efficient enough, but all in all this was not a good experience. There was no warm syrup on the table, nor was any offered. I ate my eggs sans bacon pending the great exchange, and my pancakes, which I was looking so forward to, were stone cold by time I got to eat them, and not all that tasty. For the most part, the location isn't bad. At least one can get into the establishment a lot easier than if the driveway was on 311. Best times to eat are either before 10 am or after 1pm when things slow down. Like the idea that they stay open later on Friday and Saturday nights. The food sometimes is excellent and sometimes not. Most of the food is institutional, but the cooks do their best to cook to order. During my last visit, the food was good, the service excellent, the staff kind and courteous, and I love the fact that they give you a beaker of coffee at the table which cuts down on the waiter/waitress continually asking if you want a refill. The only thing I really do not like is that there hot syrup is watery. I enjoy thick syrup with plenty of taste. There's, to so tasty. This restaurant used to be exceptional but, as of late, has been having significant service issues. Our last two visits were disasters. In the first of 2 we ordered and waited and waited and were then informed that they only had 1 server, the manager was cooking and no dishwasher. We chose to be understanding and waited, were served and our bill was comp'd. Our 2nd visit (Last night) we were seated and they appeared to have an adequate staff on hand but we were still wary. We waited after being seated for almost 10 minutes and no server appeared to take our drink order. The manager was at the register and the server who seated us was at the hostess station waiting for customers to come in to seat them (there were none arriving). I have visited this restaurant twice recently and both times I've had to wait over an hour to get my food when there was not one table occupied in the section we were in. I won't be eating here anymore due to the fact my time is more valuable than having to wait for food! We just ate at the IHOP on Parris Street for the first time. Our waiter was Justin and he was such a nice guy. Very attentive, personable, and busting his rear end to get things done. I had the garden vegetable omelet. It was beautiful and it was delicious. I had a side order of hash browns that were really good. Husband had pancakes and grits; everything was nice and tasty. I want to start by saying that as someone that has worked in restaurants and customer service, I am typically very understanding of small mistakes. However, my waitress was truly awful. The food was good and I was looking forward to having a nice brunch at IHOP and left sorely disappointment, mainly with my service. The place was not very busy and they didn't seem understaffed. Everyone else seemed to be receiving great service. My boyfriend and I both asked for coffee and water. She brought 1 coffee and 1 water and the coffee cup had someone's lipstick on it! So I have to call her down and she took the coffee mug back and didn't bring another. So we had a pitcher of coffee and nothing to drink it out of until I had to call her down again. When she finally brings cups she didn't bring cream (or even bother asking if we needed it) or a spoon (I had to stir my coffee with the knife I was using to eat). My boyfriend's meal was supposed to come with pancakes, sausage, and bacon. Waitress ONLY gave him bacon when it's supposed to come with bacon and sausage And she argued with him when he complained. AND she forgot his pancakes. At one point we were out of water and had been for a while and our waitress was nowhere to be found. We ended up having to flag down another waitress for more water. The most perplexing part was that she had another table right near ours and was checking on them constantly. She visited our table ONCE without having to be flagged down and she wasn't very friendly either, yet this other table seemed to be receiving great service. read more

Horrible horrible place. Years ago, this was one of the best branches, now it's like they don't care anymore. My wife and I went tonight for a new Friday night place, and we both agreed we'll never be back. To start, we waited for about 5 minutes just to be seated when there were plenty of available tables. Then after another 5 minutes, we finally got our drink order taken. And after this, we had been ready to order for oh about 10 minutes when a different waitress comes up from the one who took the drink order, saying our waitress was nowhere to be found and she would take our food order for her. No problem...so we thought. We both ordered, my wife a burger and I ordered a steak even pointing at the menu when I ordered. Not long after we ordered, a table beside of us left, but I'll get to that in a moment. The food finally arrives, two burgers (strange huh?). Before I could even get it out that it isn't what I ordered, the waitress was gone yet again. So after 5 minutes or so without being checked on, I figured ok might as well eat it so long as I'm not charged for the steak I ordered since it's already getting cold. After we both finished eating and waited on the check, the table that previously left was FINALLY cleaned off for more customers coming in. These screw ups would be rational if it were a packed house, but counting ourselves there were 7 tables and we counted about 4 or 5 waitresses mindlessly talking to each other instead of doing their jobs (obviously). Coming from a past in the food service industry, I know what it's like to live on tips and I NEVER do not tip when we eat out, order delivery etc. Didn't tip these people since they no way deserved it, it anything they owed me money for having to watch the circus that they call a respectable restaurant. This IHOP is less than 1 star!! The rating system is for Five stars. I truly wish I could give this restaurant a star rating worst than a one. I called today, October 8th, 2016. The young lady that answered the phone, was both rude and unlearned. I realize that its is IHOP and not Chop House nor PF Chang,s, but where is your sense of work ethic. This young lady proceeded to tell me, she was too busy to take my order and she had other things to do; I hurried and gave her my order and then she just hung up!! I called back, a manager answered. Come to discover, the previous young lady, didn't even take the order!!! The manager apologized. I hate this place, floor disgusting, service is horrifying, food is below average... and the service is unmentionable and worthless. All I ordered was three pancakes.... how hard was that. I am that customer that always leaves a tip. I ate there a week ago, it was horrible then. I left a 10.00 tip, put it in the young ladies hand. My thinking was it would inspire her to be better a whatever her occupation in life is. This place is the worst place to eat in HIGH POINT NC. Don't go there!!
