Not sure what these guys are doing right, but they need to keep it up. We've been here several times with groups of friends and they were always able to get us in, seated and fed in a reasonable time. Food is always great and people that work there are plenty of friendly. It's nice going to a place that's clean, comfortable, and the wait staff joke around with you. One issue is parking. On occasions when we visited on Saturday for lunch, the parking is tight. I've ended up parking on Fort Crockett Blvd. It's not a long walk, but not completely convenient. I guess that's not something they can fix, so I just mentioned it here so you are aware .. but didn't count off on the stars. read more

This IHOP is so good! Every year I come out to Galveston and I always make sure to stop at the IHOP at least once. It's super busy but efficient. Service is great, food is amazing as always. Very clean environment on the inside, not sure what happened outside. It reeked of a strong stinky odor. It smelled like wet dog & rotten manure mixed with eggs. Blah! The parking is fairly small, it can get crowded in the morning. Lots of people parked on the street. I was able to walk in and quickly get seated. After a large crowd was there before me. Andra was a kind hostess. The interior is fresh and inviting, nothing like the ones in Houston and the Waffle House nearby has nothing on it! I was seated at a comfy, spaceless booth that was great for two. It had very little lighting and it was no where from the restroom & kitchen. My waitress, Darlene was the best! She was on time and always kept a smile on her face. That made me enjoy my trip here even more. The food, I ordered the breakfast plate with 3 pancakes, bacon and eggs. It was enough to fill me up! The pancakes were very fluffy and thick. The bacon was okay, I like peppered bacon personally and the eggs were plain. The cooks didn't add any salt or pepper to flavor em' up. So, yes it was pretty plain jane. Even with sprinkling salt and pepper on top. It just isn't the same. The orange juice was pulpy, the way I like it with pulp. Only if it was a little more icey, though it still tasted good. The syrup bottle needs to wiped down!! It was so sticky and gooey. I really couldn't tell if it was clean or filthy I was touching. A hot towel will do the trick! When Darlene handed me it I almost wanted to deny it and ask for another bottle. But I didn't. Anyways, paying for was meal was great. The cashier was fine & dandy I think she was more annoyed of the younger crowd of highschoolers paying with mommas credit card than I was. The crowd all asked for their receipts to be thrown away and the cashier even assumed I wanted my receipt dumped. We had breakfast at IHOP this morning after watching the sunrise on the beach. My wife had biscuits and gravy with pancakes, I had a spicy poblano omelette. Both of our meals were very tasty and came out quickly. Our waiter was very attentive and kept our beverages filled. I personally don't expect a lot from chain restaurants like this, but I was pleasantly surprised. We will definitely come back if we are in Galveston again. read more

Great place if you cannot afford the Galvez brunch on Sunday. This place is always busy and has a wait time. The service is good. The servers work hard to make sure you have a good experience. Parking is not bad as you can park in the hotel parking lot in the front of the parking fills up. Parking is free! read more

I was very disappointed with IHOP on our most recent trip to Galveston. Usually it has been fairly consistent on quality (which is good). My breakfast this time was brought out lukewarm (eggs? sausage?) and the pancakes were COLD. I mean, the syrup was warmer than they were. I looked around for my waitress but she was nowhere to be found. So I could either wait for her to come back and for the rest of my breakfast to go as cold as the pancakes, or eat what I could of it. I should have waited for her (she did reappear about 20 minutes later with the check - nice way to check on your customers). Having had to wait about 15 minutes for my food, I wondered how long it had sat in the window waiting for someone to bring it out to me. Very disappointed with IHOP this trip; not sure if I'll return on my next visit. read more

Had a nice breakfast with a friend this morning. We both ended up ordering the same thing. We each had pancakes, bacon, and hash browns. As is typical for a weekend on the island, they were packed. If my friend didn't have to have their blueberry syrup, we'd probably go elsewhere. But, they LOVE that syrup. We were seated in about 10 minutes, so not a bad wait. I didn't catch our server's name (friend paid the bill), but she was friendly and brought our drinks and took our order quickly. The pancakes were good. Neither of us could finish ours. We ordered the bacon crispy, but it was a little too crunchy. I thought the hash browns were fine, which we also ordered crispy, but my friend said they were too salty and didn't eat them. We received our check when the food was delivered, which I prefer versus having to track down the check when I'm ready to leave. However I would have liked the dirty plates removed after we finished eating, but they were busy so I guess it was overlooked this time. Mainly, I was so full and heading for a carb induced coma, I didn't want to look at them anymore. I'm sure I'll return when my friend needs their blueberry syrup fix again. read more

Food was good, I will suggest not to get the breaded steak. Pancakes where great. Eva was fast and helpful. We were nine people and they were able to give us tables really fast. French toast were delicious and the poblano omelette was spicy and juicy yummy! Crispy fish was really great! The strawberry crepe where perfect. Restrooms where very clean. This place was packed when my family and I went the morning before our cruise, and so that explained us waiting for our food. The food was standard IHOP fare and our waitress was really kind to my overly emotional toddler who wanted to scream/cry through breakfast since her routine was all messed up. I appreciated their understanding, but I do wish they'd staff enough to handle how busy they are. Not sure if it was just a surprise rush of people, but it was slow and it was hard to get things we needed. However, the staff was VERY nice and awesome when they had time to come by! read more

Service was not good- friendly but not good. We had to wait to be seated, and there were lots of open tables with lots of wait staff on hand. After waiting twenty minutes, we were seated and placed our orders fairly promptly. The food, when it finally arrived was cold. Everyone's food was cold. It is a standard IHOP. The best way to eat is to order online and get 20% off and use the outside tables to eat. They are not serving outside but you can eat there. This lets you be outside due to covid and have the food faster than the 45 minute wait. We were happy and there were only 2 idiots that lit a cigarette out there and the wind blew the smoke away. the wait was a little long but we came at peak brunch time so we figured. but it wasn't too bad waiting. our waitress kiara was amazing though. i haven't eaten meat in 11 years and i'm pretty lactose intolerant so sometimes finding food is hard lol. i always order sides and it can get confusing. but kiara brought my sides out looking like a real meal. she was AWESOME and very kind. if you can request her i would honestly. she also let my son replace his eggs with fruit with no issue. i've had problem with this before at other ihop's around the DFW area. five stars mainly just because our waitress was GREAT read more

As good as an Ihop can be. If the main parking lot is full, you can park next door at the San Luis hotel. There is parking there for IHOP.

By far the worst customer service I have experienced in a very long time. If negative stars were an option, I'd give them that. Took 15 minutes to just get a table, even though there was clearly a dozen tables in view- clean and ready to go. After we were finally sat down it took our server another 15 minutes to even approach our table after we watched her walk by at least 10 times taking care of only 1 other table. The manager was rude to me when i asked why everything was taking so long, and the hostess just cut me off and interrupted me when I was asking questions concerning a food allergy. I have worked in the service industry for 6 years now, so I'm not being unreasonable or outrageous or even just plain impatient. This place just straight up sucks. Save your money and go dumpter diving for food. You'll probably have better luck and have more fun. Seriously... I got 2 pancakes when the menu said 3. The waiter told me that his manager said it's only 2 after he brought me my meal. Until you correct the menu, bring me what I ordered! Did the manager also tell you to bring me a bland omelette and not refill my water a single time? When the cashier asked how my meal was. I said "not very good". She replied with "oh,oh" and that was the end of that customer service effort. But, let's be honest, we will keep going to IHOP because all the good restaurants close early and drunks get the munchies and, for them, even a mediocre meal can hit the spot. read more
