Rarely do I want to post a review with zero stars, but after our take-out experience a couple of weeks ago, I absolutely feel that I must. Because, how do you mistakenly give us an omelette that appears on the outside to be what we ordered, but once you cut into the thing, it has every animal imaginable inside? Steak means steak, not steak ham, bacon, and sausage. I ate most of it, though, because I was hangry and slightly hungover from the previous evening's festivities. This was my first exposure to an IHOP in the East, and I doubt that I will ever return. read more

Really? There are 3 tables with diners here at 6:45. It took 1 hour to get our order.

It was my second time ordering take out and it was a pleasurable experience. The only complaint is the wait in line to pay for my order.

Sad that this particular IHOP gets a bad rep due to the area its in. However, once inside the service is ok. Just ok though. Food will be good. Prices the same. Customer service fluctuates though unfortunately. read more

I've been here in the past experience was ok, today We arrive and the Greeter must take an emergency call, this is ok thats why it's called an emergency the gentlemen she called to relieve her took care of one family then dissapeard, We waited an additional 13min before someone addressed Us, We were seated & had to get a server from another section to tend to Us, Brandon apologized for our wait, Trina the young lady that wss assigned to our table could not see us I guess & avoided eye contact by all means. This is the worst I hop I have ever been to. I walked in the door and no one acknowledge me to let me know they saw I entered into this establishment. There were three people standing at the front and finally after four minutes they acknowledged me. I took them about a minute to seat us, we were never acknowledge at the table and another customer came in after us was waited on first. It took four servers to wait on one table of four. When they were done they went to the back and were talking with people that was on break. I walked out and left. I will never be back to this one! read more

I usually dine in, but today i ordered my food in so I can get in & get out. I had ordered a bacon temptation w/ pancakes like I normally do. The food is always good & on point so I didn't think to check inside the bag. I am very VERY unsatisfied because it seems as if they didn't even put any effort in making my food. I ordered a few days ago from ubereats.my food came cold and my order was messed up.smh. all I wanted was pancakes with strawberries, over easy eggs, and Turkey bacon. I got peaches, over hard eggs,and regular bacon. I ordered today, mistakes happen whatever, I wanted a burger with a fried egg and avocado and fries. Ordered an extra side salad with no onions and ranch dressing. There was no eggs or avocado.the burger was massively overcooked. Fries were soggy. Typically , I would agree with the other posts on this feed, however, I have to give the staff at this location their due. I'm not sure what happened whether it is under new management or what but the service and food there is much improved. My son and I dined there yesterday. We were not hopeful because of past experiences with the wait staff, etc but this time we were pleasantly surprised. Whatever changes have been made, they are on the right track! read more

I love breakfast food. Love it, but this place is terrible. We came in and were seated next to the kitchen. The kitchen staff was yelling obscenities left and right. The staff was seen horse playing through the aisles. My drink NEVER GOT REFILLED and for goodness sakes my waitress (Ms. Eugenia) insulted me. "You really gonna eat all this food?" It was quite funny but come on she's gotta have better etiquette then that working in the server industry. My boyfriend gave her a 50 dollar bill and she asked was it real. That was strike 10 at this point. Worst customer service ever and she didn't deserve the $3 for a tip that she reluctantly received. You gotta love the open hours, but you need to plan around super busy periods....week-ends, especially a.m. hours, etc, when even parking is tight. Check out the specials and family groups really appreciate the group seating arrangements available. Appreciate the mature waitstaff that know how to deal with kids and seniors, too. read more

I love IHOP. Who doesn't like pancakes at 3am or 3pm? Any time of the day, I'm a breakfast gal and IHOP is always my to-go place when I'm craving sweet, buttery pancakes. I happened to be in Forestville, MD a couple of weeks ago for a meeting and spotted an IHOP on my way home...it must have been around 6pm. I ordered the usual, pancakes and an omelette. I was very disappointed when my food came out. My omelette was very greasy and my pancakes were crispy, not soft and fluffy the way every other IHOP makes them . And the taste....forget it...it was the worst meal I've had at IHOP. I honestly did not want to return the food because I was afraid they were going to spit on it. I didn't finish it, I ended up picking up the bill and leaving. The young lady who served us was very nice and friendly and that is why I'm giving this review 1 star and not zero. I really think it's a training issue, perhaps the cook was new and not ready to cook an omelette and pancakes. Whatever the issue was, I hope they train the cook or get a new one. There has not been one time that I ordered from them and my order was correct. I stopped going to ihop all together. Ordered a pancake combo and cheesecake pancakes. I guess they figured I didn't need 2 sets of pancakes so they decided to only put 1 in my bag when I paid for 2 orders. 2nd, they sent the completely wrong order to my house via ubereats. Instead of ordering a new Uber to bring the correct order, they asked me to come pick the order up myself otherwise there was nothing they could do. And that was the manager speaking. This iHop sucks. The staff is rude, unfriendly, and inattentive every time I've been here. A perfect example of this is today. My family and I went into the restaurant and were asked if we were dining in or carrying out then the waitress walked away and never came back. Food was excellent! Staff was wonderful! We were a large group of eight people who came in. We ranged in age from 8 years to 55 years. Our waitress greeted us took our order with no pen or paper. I was a little nervous she would forget something. She got our whole order correct!!!! And was able to remember who got what plate. I was extremely pleased with the whole experience! I tried but it was a fail. NEVER GO IN HERE!!!!! Kind of a long story.........First there was no hostess the 2 hours we were there. Waited 30 mins to order our meal, 40 mins to receive it, and 30 minutes to talk to anyone after receiving it and that anyone we talked to was the manager we asked for. Sat for 10 minutes before someone asked for a drink order. Had 3 waitresses because I guess no one wanted our table, there were only two of us. 2nd waitress we asked for two hot choc and two waters, got one of each then I never got my water after we said it again. Never got anyone's name and the 3rd waitress had no name tag or gave a name just "I'll be helping you" I ordered 2 sides of hash browns, cesar salad and strawberry pancakes for myself. When she brought our orders I guess the plates were too hot so to relief the pain she threw the plates down onto the table. My friends order was correct, blueberry pancakes, hash browns, eggs and bacon. I got my 2 sides of hash browns on two separate plates (splashed with blueberry from her dropping the plates), my cesar salad had no dressing and my strawberry pancakes were just pancakes and butter. When I told her I wanted strawberry pancakes I get a bowl of 4 strawberries and whip cream on top. Eventually asked for the manager who informed me "the strawberries don't go on top of the pancakes anymore because it soaks the pancakes" meanwhile my friends blueberry pancakes looked good and soaked in blueberries. I was told I can get 1.99 off and said no I don't want it so she took it off the bill. read more

Visited this place with my husband and son on a Saturday around noon. The service was bad from the moment we entered. We weren't even acknowledged after five minutes of standing there at the entrance. Once seated our server asked if we were ready order. She didn't even give us menus. After she corrected that mistake, we all ordered the Colorado omelette with pancakes. The food came out fast but lukewarm at best. The pancakes had cold butter on top of one pancake. The old fashioned syrup container was empty. It was basically lousy but obviously a reflection of poor management. I only gave it two stars because we didn't wait long for the food, although mediocre at best service. This Ihop is not in a good part of Pg County and it seems like bad service will always be the norm. I guess consumers here just don't give a damn about bad service because that's all you can pretty much expect from Pg County businesses. read more

Service is spotty. Long line for the To-Go orders. Workers milling around in the kitchen area talking. They were getting orders mixed up and the young man behind the front counter kept saying "I just got here at 9:00." Listen son, nobody cares if you just started the shift, just FIX THE PROBLEMS! I had 3 different people wait on me. Hope the last server got the tip (LOL). Pancakes were okay. Had to wait awhile for coffee. Then once I got it there was no spoon in my cutlery bundle. Let me first say that I live in Capitol Heights MD. You're often seen as a sell out for not supporting local businesses, however with service I experienced this past weekend, I'll never go there again. We were a party of 4, We were immediately seated so not terribly busy. First, I'm always doubtful of waiters/waitresses that do not write down your order. Secondly after an extensive wait the food arrived. Eggs were cold, Pancakes never came, We were never offered additional hot water for tea, so tea was cold too. When it comes to the wait time I do not blame waiter, but for everything else I do. After waiting about 15 minutes for pancakes, we told the waiter that we've been waiting 15 minutes for pancakes that should have come with the meal, but didn't. his response was "What do you want me to do" as he proceeded to point to the rest of the tables in the immediate surrounding. We proceeded to wait and look around at other customers. Everyone appeared to be at their breaking point. Mad dad struck up conversations with all other tables to see if they were experiencing similar service, and sure enough they were. After about 20 minutes total wait time the pancakes came. We would ask for a manager, but we felt like what would be the point. I would guess the manager, but we again figured what would be the point. We probably would have to get in line for that too, since everyone in our section was so dissatisfied. Finally as we were all finished, we decided to go find out waiter to give him our Credit card, so he would come back at a reasonable time. I should remind all customers and wait staff that a tip is a privilege, not a right. Customer service is a dying breed, and it is completely DEAD at IHOP Forrestville MD. A good establishment will monitor these comments and look for ways on improving, but I would not be surprise if IHOP was clueless as to what yelp is. My only reason for adding this post is to hopefully warn the next potential customer what they may be in for during their next visit. read more

This was easily the worst ihop experience I've ever had. I typically enjoy ihop for their simple and delicious breakfast food and expédient service. Even on busy days, most ihops offer excellent customer service. Not this one. We arrived on a busy morning but were seated quickly and had our drink orders taken immediately by our helpful waitress, Monica. We also ordered our food. One hour later our family of 5 (who ordered pancakes and a couple omelets--nothing too complicated for a breakfast restaurant) was still sitting there as we watched plate after plate of other people's food come out. Our lovely waitress approached our table and suggested slyly that we ask for the manager. When the manager arrived we asked about our food and were given--not an apology--but some BS excuse about how the chefs were doing their best and that cooking times could not be guaranteed because it depends on various (irrelevant) factors. My grandmother mentioned that the problem was that we had seen several families who arrived after we had get their food already and that we would like a discount for the wait. The manager smiled in our face and offered us a cryptic promise that he would check on our food and we could discuss a discount after we'd eaten. This led me to believe that he would wait until we had eaten and then rip the rug out from under us and charge us full price. My family--after having waited an hour and a half at this point--decided to leave. We will NOT, ever, be returning to this ihop and I would recommend that they clean house (starting with the manager) and work on their customer service. read more

It's not often we are all together (daughter, grandhchildren, friends)...so after church, we went to the nearby ihop. Our waiter was pleasant, taking our orders, and even made us all comfortable with a bit of conversation...and THAT's where the goodness ends. We waited, and waited, and waited for our food...but nothing came. After more than an hour, I got up and asked for a manager then told him I am trying to keep myself calm, but we've been waiting more than an HOUR for our food. We have two small children who are losing control. We waited for what seemed like another eternity...and I returned to ask for a manager AGAIN! This time they were going to send me a different one...but I had to wait for her. 'Would you like to have a seat at your table and the manager will come to you?' No, I wasn't going to be pushed aside so they could forget me and our food. I stood right there and watched everyone else's food going out to their tables. I began to boil...walked up to the kitchen and at the top of my voice yelled. I just walked out after that. Not the best way to handle it...and my daughter knows me. She knew I would tell as many people as possible how awful this place was. And I see by the other reviews that I am not alone. read more
