We went at about 11am. Understandably the place was bustling. I don't hold high hopes for these kinds of chain restaurants but I feel like the goal is to get you in and out. My biggest issue was that it felt dirty. There was staff watching the tables from a nook by the front. One of the employees coughed into their hand and shortly after proceeded to a table to remove dishes. My other issue was that I felt hawked and rushed. After receiving our food the server didn't return once to ask if anything was needed... when she did return she placed the bill in the table saying "no rush". Food was mid. Again, it's breakfast and a chain so no one is expecting Michelin dining. It's was ok. Last but not least, $4.00 for a side is a crime. Okay to start. The staff was nice, I went for the happy hour special menu and was lucky and I didn't have to wait and our server was fine. I got the chicken burger happy hour meal. Pretty disappointing, honestly felt like a Wendys premium burger would've beat this thing. But it wasn't that bad, definitely wouldn't say I regret spending 6$ on this. Now my first picture. The 6$ happy hour omelette with side buttermilk pancakes. Yeah, side pancakes usually are pretty meh and dry, but they're basically a complimentary item. But the omelette, look at that thing. I could barely contain my laughter when the server brought that 8th grade home economics dish to our table. I could not believe we had paid any money for that atrocity, and felt bad for my server who had to smile awkwardly while putting down on our table. However it was worth 6$ for the laughs we got. Being the closest IHOP to our home, we have been to this location few times. Usually its really crowded on weekend breakfast hours, hard to find parking at that time too. But on weekdays it's pretty convenient to find seating on arrival. IMO their breakfast items like pancakes and omelette are pretty good, but other items like burgers and sandwiches are sort of disappointing. In my latest visit, the chicken paddy was unevenly cooked. My recommendation would be stick with the pancakes. read more

But this time the server named Imelda on May 04, 2023 (or something like that) completely ruined our experience. Instead of having a wonderful breakfast, our topic of discussion was how rude and inappropriate her tone was. Grew up eating at this IHOP. Always know what to expect, especially when it comes to like, pancakes. On a late afternoon, gave this salad a try. It's a great idea but: the avocado was crunchy and the lettuce was not field/spring greens as pictured in the menu, but was iceberg which is okay so long as none of the lettuce served is brown. Very interesting place for a variety of reasons. Decided to hit this up due to a desire for nostalgia and pancakes. There are plenty of decent spots in the area but for some reason IHOP came to mind so we gave it a whirl. There is plenty of outdoor dining here but at the expense of the parking lot which as a result became way tighter than the ideal state. Making this tricky is the fact that people seem to be driving in to pick up food which makes navigating the standing cars quite tough in such a confined space right by the outdoor tables. The food was pretty meh across the board. I ordered the breakfast combo and our server forgot my pancakes. Everything was noticeably small - from the eggs to sausages to bacon strips which looked as thin as a couple of small sheets of shriveled up toilet paper. The pancakes were decent but heavy as lead in my stomach. The service was ok. A few folks were very friendly though the wait time for the food was extremely long. This seemed to apply to all the tables around us as well. Generally speaking there wasn't much urgency on the day we visited. However, at least the nice servers we interacted with kept this from being a flat 1 star review. All in all this place just seems performative and the food was barely average at best. There are way better options to consider nearby if you're looking to get your breakfast fix. At least the sodas are free refills. read more

After our kid's Sunday soccer game in a nearby town, our extended family decided to try IHOP due to its outdoor seating. While certain considerations come into focus amid the global coronavirus crisis, the service during what appeared to be the lunchtime rush left something to be desired. An employee inside said to go ahead and sit wherever we'd like, so our party of seven sat at one of the several picnic tables placed under canopies along the perimeter of the parking lot. (The dining room was open for customers, although they seemed to be spaced apart from each other, but it was definitely not crowded by conventional means.) From there it took at least 35 minutes for a server to bring menus and more than 10 minutes for them to take our order. (Of course, the server came to take our order while I was taking our littlest kid to the restroom, which were relatively clean.) Someone tracked down the server and submitted our two remaining orders. The kitchen itself was busy almost the whole time, so I understand that the staff might have been overwhelmed, which I figure is worth one review star. On the bright side, all of our food was brought out at the same time, it was nice and warm, and it was as close to perfect as we could've asked. No question about it, the folks in the kitchen are pros. The burgers were fantastic and nicely appointed with lettuce, tomato, pickles and and onions. The spicy omelet with jalapeños was actually spicy! The cannoli pancakes looked beautiful, and the Belgian waffles were crisp and delicious. The host was friendly and I was seated quickly. The service was not very good from the waiter. It took a long time for my decaf coffee and water and my chance to order my meal. My pancakes came out on a small plate/saucer and there was little room for syrup to flow off the plate therefore I made a mess on the table. Why not give a proper plate? The two top pancakes were very good but the pancake on the bottom of the stack wasn't as moist and pillowy. My omelet was anything but fluffy. The omelet looked nothing like the pretty fluffy omelets on the menu. My omelet was flat as a house of fallen cards with slices of cheddar cheese on top. I thought that was strange. I like my cheese on the inside of my omelet. Call me old fashion. Very affordable and offer a good selection of brunch items. Their combos are inexpensive and can serve multiple people. They also have yet to err in making any orders for my family. Over the past two years the orders were packed well, never missing any food items. This time it missed 2 pancakes as part of the sides. It's 15 minutes drive one way to go there. This IHOP is the best one in the area of N NJ. I've been to the Teaneck one and it's way more ghetto. This one isn't at all. It's next to an adorable little downtown area with cute little shops. The interior is nicer, the customers are nicer in terms of attitude and dressiness and the service is better. The parking lot is a little small but the food and prices are so definitely worth it. I mean you don't go to an IHOP for fine dining and cuisine. You go for a laid back extremely affordable good ole humongous American breakfast with everything you can imagine!! HORRIBLE!!!!!!!!! Surprise surprise every other spot on Mother's Day was crowded. I was able to get on the waiting list via Yelp which I thought was great. I signed up at 10:45 am and was told our table would be available at 11:05 am. Perfect. We showed up at 11:05 am on the dot and as soon as I walked in I immediately regretted it. The small, narrow hallway was filled with people waiting for take out. A COMPLETE MESS!!! WE ARE IN THE MIST OF A FREAKING PANDEMIC and these people are nut to butt. I do not understand why this was allowed. Anyways, I went up to the hostess and he told me they were delayed and it would be another 30min wait. We were called in and seated at about 11:40am and had to walk through the takeout mob of people standing by the register and door. We sat down and the waitress, Angel, came to the table about 3mins after we were seated. She didn't greet or say anything. Immediately asked if what we wanted to drink. My mother and brother ordered coffee and the rest of us, regular drinks. The drinks were brought by about 10 mins later. My brother still wasn't ready to place an order so we asked her for a few more minutes which was a HUGE mistake. She didn't come back until over 20mins later. And when we looked for where she was, she had been standing at the cooking station the entire time. Just li-ter-ally just standing there. The table in back of us and in front were also livid at how long this waitress was taking and verbally complained about her bad service. After she finally took our order at 12:02 pm, this woman did not come back with our food until 12:34pm(I made sure to check the time). Again she was just standing by the register and cooking station. The food was blah, ehhh. I wasn't happy with my plate. I ordered the bacon sensation omelet. On the menu, the omelet was shown with bits of bacon, all over and in the it, which it did not have. It was large pieces of semi cooked bacon. And White melted cheese, which it did not have. But I refused to send it back and not get anything for another 30 plus mins. The waitress never came by to refill our drinks or ask if anything else was needed. I asked for the check and the waitress came and dropped it off without saying anything. I went to pay it and she was standing again by the register, surprise surprise. We did not leave her a tip. I refuse to tip, awful service. We did tip the men cleaning off the tables. They were amazing. As people left they were quick to clean off the tables and we saw how hard they were working. They definitely deserved it. I completely understand that it was Mother's Day and it was nonstop crowded. But it does not excuse horrible service. She was not friendly, or attentive at all. The fact that we were seated at 11:40 am and did not leave until about an hour and 40mins later after eating pancakes and eggs is pretty ridiculous. Staff did wear masks. I'm an Uber and drive overnight, coming home around 6am. IHOP is right around the corner from me, and I am so thankful its open, has delicious French Toast, and is very efficient! My food is always ready when I arrive and hot when I get home. Everything you need is in the bag; although, the plastic packaging is a bit excessive. I usually use the app and it's great. The order is there when I arrive, ready to go. No searching through restaurant; the food there as soon as you get through the door payment is done through app. Calling is just as quick. As far as the food, I can only comment on the French Toast, eggs and hash browns. Four (sometimes six!) huge, fluffy, tasty pieces of toast with caramel and vanilla flavors. Very light cinnamon, if any. The other items, meh. Ya know, it IS still IHOP . Regarding this particular location, there's nothing negative I can say about my experience! read more
