I have to say that hearing all the hype about this place I was expecting something more then I got. We had to wait 20 minutes to get seated and it was only half full (late afternoon on Sunday.) We then sat at our table for 10-15minutes before anyone acknowledged we were there. Food was below average and somewhat expensive for what we got. Would I go back? This doesn't even deserve a star. All the reviews say that they suck when they are busy, we went and it wasn't even busy. So we ordered our food, not a big deal, service was awful, he didn't check up or refilled our drinks even give us a spoon to stir coffee. We get our food,we had to ask for silverware.... there was an egg shell in my egg, we sent it back, then when it came out a second time the eggs weren't even cooked, my pancakes were cold. The toast my mom had wasn't buttered, it was burnt and cold. We only had to pay for one meal and our drinks and we left. We will never return to this place. It was disgusting. read more

The service and food was excellent. The waitress was very friendly and the food was great. The portions are very generous and the coffee was tasty. There was lots of parking but it filled up quick and people were lined up for tables around 1000 on a Saturday. I will be returning to this location in the future. read more

In the past it has been decent. This morning was a crash and burn. Cold eggs, runny pancakes. Coffee was decent, service was touch disorganized but good. Bill came to $12.89. I gave the girl at the till $23.14. She set the 14 cents aside and rang in the $23. The gave me $10.11 change and then handed me back the 14 cents. I returned the 11 cents to her and added the 14 cents to it asking her for a quarter. What on earth was she doing on a till? Maybe she should be in the kitchen and the "chef" should be on the till. Talk about your lunch bag let down... Even one star is one too many today. read more

The first time I was at this IHOP was a month after it opened and it was incredibly busy...people lined up outside the restaurant. However, we only waited 10 minutes before we were called to our table, service and food arrived very quickly and everything was wonderful. Next time was about 6 weeks ago and again the place was jammed pack but we only waited 15 minutes for our table on a Saturday afternoon. Food was again delicious and huge but we waited about 30 minutes for our food. Now I was just there today July 19, 2011 and finally there was no line up and the restaurant was 3/4 full. We waited 10 minutes before our waitress arrived for our order. Then we waited 30 minutes in a 3/4 full restaurant for our food which was HORRIBLE. Our food arrived cold, there was no flavor, the beef in the pot roast sandwich was covered in a thick pasty gravy, cheese on the omelette and in sandwich looked like it was put on at the last minute (cheese should have been melted inside). We had these items before and it was great then but disgusting now. Our waitress was overworked or just couldn't handle the few tables she had. The manager/owner was kinda unpleasant to deal with. He bragged how much $$$ this restaurant makes in a week, that this was the first time he had ever heard anything bad about his restaurant, barely made an effort to listen to what I had to say when he was the one who asked, implied that it was my fault that I thought the food tasted bad and tried to make me feel guilty for not bringing his attention to the food immediately....so where were all the staff that I could have asked? Was here for Wednesday brunch a couple of relatives. This place is packed; had to wait 30 minutes for a table. The order (garden omelette + pancakes) arrived at a reasonable time. The pancakes was still one of the better ones in the city. The omelette was OK. The only issue I had was with the payment. We used IHOP gift certificates that they won't accept; their reasoning was the GCs purchased last year were issued by a manager that no longer work for the restaurant. (Wth???) The lineup and wait to get in was a bit on the long side, however, it was the Sunday morning of a long weekend. However, the food was worth the wait, as our table of 6 was completely satisfied with the meal. Everything was made to order, and was fantastic. I haven't heard very good things about iHop but decided to give it a shot, turns out, I should have taken the advice of others and gone elsewhere. Smitty's is not only cheaper, they offer the same stuff and use real cheese, not processed. The kids menu at iHop sucks, they use processed cheese for everything, the coffee is disgusting. I had to ask for ketchup, for my daughter's nuggets, all the fruit had to be cut in half because the pieces were so big. I ordered a chicken quesadilla... there was literally 2 bite size chicken pieces in the entire thing and I had to ask for it to be made with real cheese, there was so much spinach, I got mouthfuls of it. Neither my daughter or myself ate very much. I told the staff it was gross but instead of offering me another dish or a discount, I was given the bill. I paid $30 for a meal I didn't even eat. The restaurant was dirty too. I will not be returning to iHop. Lesson learned. I give them 1 star because our waiter was friendly. read more

i really enjoy this particular ihop, the staff is always super friendly and the place is clean. there is plenty of parking all around building and there is rarely a line to get in. the food is ready quickly and it actually looks like the pictures. very satisfying breakfast brunch or lunch spot read more

Don't go here. We went here for dinner tonight, and here's what sucked about our visit: 1. The food sucked. They charged my husband $14+ for a few pancakes, a couple pieces of old, cold, salty bacon, a few pancakes, and some lukewarm eggs. I got a $14+ omelet, and it had a weird flavour throughout, and there was only a couple shreds of meat. The rest was all egg. So gross. 2. They took FOREVER to get us our bill, and we had two small kids to get home to put to bed. It probably took them 15 minutes to get us our bill, after we got up from the table. 3. When we were finally able to pay, they refused to honour their clearly posted sign by the till that said that you get a free kid's meal for every entree ordered. The guy got all panicked and told me that that was only on Thursdays. I pointed to where it said "every day." He went and got his manager, who treated me very disrespectfully, quickly tore down the sign, claimed that they were not advertising free kid's meals, and tried to make it seem like my fault that I had even noticed their sign. Such bad customer service. Go to Smitty's instead if you can. Their food is so much better. read more

good breakfast brunch spot...been to many ihops in different cities...this one is pretty good...clean new and good service...was busy on saturday but got in within 10 min of waiting....nice options on menu....but nothing beats eggs and toast....have some low cal healtier options too....taste is okay for more complex dishes....stick with main breakfast items.... read more

Absolutely disgusting. We first order the Grinch green mint hot chocolate. On the menu it's has green whip cream and mint sprinkles. It came with nothing on it just regular old hot chocolate with some candy pieces dumped in. The waitress spilled it all over the mugs while carry it and told us the green stuff sank to the bottom. That's why it wasn't green and sorry she made a mess but she would get us napkins to clean up her mess. (There was no "green" anything in the drink). We had to remind her for the napkins. Hot chocolate was all over our table. Then she brought us two glasses of water. Which I promptly sent back. Dirt and lipstick and lip patterns on both glasses. She laughed it off like no big deal.. ridiculous! My wife ordered the Mexican tres leches pancakes. They are advertised as a vanilla cream with caramel. They were thick with cream cheese not much sauce and really terrible I ordered the spicy Poblano omelette. It was ok but only had 3 pieces of chipped beef in it. I had pancakes as the side and they came out mushy. Our waitress knew we weren't happy but trotted along like everything was fine. We paid and left and will never go back. read more

I have been waiting so long for an ihop in edmonton, i was put off by the fact that for the first few months i couldnt even get in because it was so full and waiting times were insane, but when i finally did go I found the staff extremely nice and helpfull and i soon found out that either the pancakes or the syrup is extremely addictive!!!! read more

After spending a relaxing evening in Edmonton we decided to go out for a late breakfast at IHOP. As we have had nothing but bad experiences at most Edmonton breakfast places (Smitty's, Denny's ect.) we didn't expect this to be any different, but much to our surprise the food was awesome. We only had to wait 10 minutes to get in and even though the restaurant was packed full our server was fast and very friendly. The food was to die for absolutely best breakfast I've had in awhile and I was very pleased with the service. Definitely going to go here again!! read more

Saturday morning - out for breakfast - the wait was 20 minutes as suggested - service was excellent from front of house greeter, to management help seating, to menu service. What was exceptional was the front desk - while we were waiting, "Becky" (sp) was so positive and upbeat she gave a great first impression, and we too experienced her enthusiasm while paying our own bill.
