It was National Pancake Day yesterday, and IHOP was offering a free short stack of their classic buttermilk pancakes, three pancakes, for each dine in guest. So I decided to stop by for dinner. As always, I love their omelets. This time, I tried the Bacon Temptation Omelette, and it was pretty good. That said, I think I still prefer the Spicy Poblano Omelette a bit more. For my side, I chose hash browns and asked for them to be cooked extra crispy. They turned out delicious, and I would definitely order them that way again. Of course, IHOP never disappoints with their buttermilk pancakes. They were fluffy and delicious, topped with slightly salty butter that melted perfectly over the warm stack. They were so yummy. The service was great. The server was very nice and friendly. Surprisingly, the restaurant was not too crowded despite it being National Pancake Day, which made the experience even more enjoyable. Came in Jan.30th at 6:20pm Absolutely unacceptable service. We were ignored for 15 minutes, then rudely told to sit. When I asked for the bathroom code, the waitress said we couldn't use the bathroom until our food arrived. I told her I'm pregnant, and she flat-out said she didn't care. We left immediately, and she stood there smiling. Disgusting behavior. IHOP needs to do better. We will never be back. read more

Had such an amazing experience at IHOP! From the moment we walked in, our server Rosie made us feel like we were visiting a friend's home instead of a restaurant. She was incredibly kind and attentive, and went above and beyond to make sure all of our food was halal. She was even loudly reminding the kitchen staff that our order was halal to make sure there was no cross contamination -- such a sweetheart and truly appreciated! The food was delicious too! The chicken quesadillas were my absolute favorite, and of course the pancakes were amazing as always. Great food, warm service, and such a welcoming atmosphere. It's been awhile since I've been here but today we tried. 10 min wait to sit down. Mind you it is not busy. Then we got our table didn't tell us who our server is we waited for about 10 minutes nobody shows up to out table so we walked out. I have work in the restaurant business and this is poor management of your restaurant. I know sometimes your short staff bit let your patrons know. I would never comeback to this place ever and will never recommend this place to anyone. Yes I know it's ihop and it's not supposed to be a 5 star restaurant experience. However I take my kids here from time to time to get some gluten free pancakes and usually everything is smooth. The service is decent. The reason why I am writing this review is because I went the other day and I was told that they ran out of gluten free pancake mix so this is really just a heads up to call ahead and make sure they have it in stock! The service was also friendly and quick but mind you, this was not during a rush or busy period. I got the protein pancakes and scrambled eggs. Everything well cooked, not too oily and I left happy with my pancake early dinner decision. I can see this getting busy or chaotic during weekend brunch, but when it's off hours and you want breakfast, this is a great choice. Well I'm not a IHOP person but my mom wanted to go. Service was friendly however the server was forgetful when asked for things like more creamer for the coffee, water refills and lemons for the hot water. The food was mediocre at best. I tried the new bacon avocado Benedict and asked for soft poached eggs (yes first world issue lol). When I got the plate it was basically a hardboiled egg and just a drizzle of hollandaise sauce. Pretty disappointing. In the end it took a while to get the server to come back to pay the bill also. Probably just stick with Country Waffle for breakfast. 03/29/25- Came here around 3pm and not a busy afternoon. In fact after last customer left, we're the only ones left behind. Server German is absolutely the best! He is very simple, humble, engaged in a great conversation and has a great sense of humor. Ordered sample platter breakfast with pancakes, chicken and waffles, mac n cheese, strawberry crepes with lots of customizations for a picky kid (which was granted), french toast with strawberries (more customizations request), oreo shake, juice and sodas. Food were prepared well. There was a mistake with the crepes' customization, and they happily changed it. The second time, they put cinnamon powder but I did not complain anymore. Food was well presented. I see how low the stars here. But give it a try and see for yourself because we had an amazing time. Total was 82$ plus and gave him a pretty good tip for a great service. First the pluses: Great food and service. I got a $7 breakfast with 2 pancakes, 2 sausages and 2 scrambled eggs. I added coffee and a small OJ. This really nice woman gave me a 20% off coupon. So that made it an even better. They remodeled the bathroom, at least the women's, and so it doesn't have that awful sewer smell anymore. I'm giving it a 3 because it was freezing cold in there and I had to leave and not finish reading my magazine. I was told that this has been the case for a while and they and they think it's the windows. It was colder in there than outside for Chrissakes. I has been years since I ate at this location. The last time I ate here I dine in in the evening which I was uncomfortable doing (not sure how Concord is at night). Coming here in the morning I was comfortable and there were people dinning here. When I ate here for the first time the inside wasn't maintain. The seats at the table were mess up. I saw a few tables that needed repairs. Fast forward they remodel the place. All of the tables are up to date. The service both times were great. I was appreciated how my server apologize for the long wait (I didn't have to wait long for service or my food). IHOP did have outdoor dinning when they couldn't allow people to dine in. I've been here multiple times and I've never really had a bad experience. My review will mostly cover my last experience trying the minion meal which consisted of the Minion Mango OJ Splasher, Cinna Minions, Ba-Ba Banana Milkshake, and the Ba-Ba Banana Pancakes. The Mango OJ Splasher was pretty good it kinda tasted like mango mixed with sprite. The Cinna Minions were my favorite part it tasted like Cinnabons from Taco Bell, super yummy. The milkshake was actually really good as well I loved the banana bits it had. I have a really sweet tooth and I thought the Ba-Ba Banana Pancakes were too sweet for my liking so I couldn't finish it all. I think it was a good experience to try everything since I loved the new Minion movie, but if you are coming to enjoy a meal I'd recommend ordering the Breakfast Sampler instead, which is usually what I order! First off the website is the worst. It's hard to get your order correct and when you place your order it isn't right. Our order was cold and wrong and missing an item. When we called the store the manager knew she had forgotten our sod and said you have to call door dash to get a credit or come down and get it. She was rude and had no customer service skills at all. Now I get she makes minimum wage but even McDonalds works have some customer service skills and they aren't making the $20 an hour yet. I arrived on June 3 between 10:45 and 11:00 am. The restaurant was full and I put my name in the book. They started calling groups of 3 and up. At 12 o'clock the lobby is empty. No one asked me if I needed a table or not. A waiter came by and I asked him. Very kindly she told me if there was a table and took me to my table. I asked for coffee. But how do I move the coffee if I don't have a spoon? I asked him politely that I needed a spoon and he replied yes. More customers arrived and everything was delivered to the table... and I was still without a spoon. It was not possible to wait almost two hours to be seated and not even deliver a spoon... and I thought the same thing would happen with the food. So I decided to get up and leave that restaurant. Wow - I should have looked at the reviews before we came here. Won't make that mistake again! We were seated quickly, and gave the waitress our drink order (they have Pepsi products, ew). We sat and talked, and noticed it had been a while since we placed our order. Finally the waitress came back with our drinks and apologized for the wait. It didn't appear to be so busy, but okay, stuff happens. We placed our food order and chit-chatted more. We started to get annoyed again because we ran out of coffee and hadn't seen our waitress since placing the food order. We had to call over a random waitress to get the refill. The food finally comes out, and my order is wrong. I ordered one of the new burritos, but they brought be a burrito bowl. Okay, stuff happens, I try to remember. She took it back and it actually came out pretty quickly. My guest's food was not warm at all, and had to be sent back through another random waitress to be heated up. The chicken in my burrito was good, except for the one piece of what appeared to be petrified wood in there. Also, there were two managers having a meeting at a table near us. I came home from work with a craving for pumpkin pancakes, so I talked my mom into coming with me to IHOP for dinner. The place was empty and we were seated quickly. Our server came and took our drink order right away, bringing our drinks immediately. My disappointment came when I was informed that this IHOP decided to stop making pumpkin pancakes "because they weren't selling." Perhaps they were not selling because THEY WERE NOT ADVERTISED ANYWHERE IN THE RESTAURANT! Maybe if they told guests they could order them, perhaps they would! We came here for the "hoppy" hour and realized that the prices here are higher than the IHOP in Walnut Creek! Most items were about $1 more. Unless the Walnut Creek location increased their prices in the last week, because we were there not long ago. Anyway, you can't go wrong with the pancakes at IHOP. They're so fluffy and taste great. Everything else on the menu, I can't really speak on, but we got the eggs, toast, sausage and hashbrowns off the hoppy menu for $6 and everything tasted good and as you would expect them, except the toast was almost rock hard but not that dark, so not exactly sure what that was about. They did get rid of the kids eat free (after 4pm I think it was) a couple days ago, so that was a bummer. Our waitress was really friendly, didn't write anything anything down but got our entire order correct! A good place to stop if you want someone else to cook breakfast for you! We have been having breakfast at the Concord, CA I Hop for many years, and have always enjoyed the food, service and ambiance. Today at 10:00 A.M. however, we encountered a most unpleasant employee. This young man seated us and continued to circulate through the restaurant for another hour, never smiling and giving the appearance that everyone should be grateful to him for his taking the time to seat them. Unlike the many pleasant I Hop employees we have interacted with in the past, this young man was an extremely poor example of someone whose job was to serve customers. We looked forward to IHOP's 2-2-2 Breakfast. On Friday, Sept. 16th 2022 we ordered the 2-2-2 Breakfast. The eggs and sausage were very good. Their 'world famous' pancakes were T-E-R-R-I-B-L-E !!! Their pancakes used-to-be light, fluffy and delicious. We've lived in Concord over 40 years and patronized this location many times. The pancakes were dry and tough... had trouble cutting them with a knife. When we brought it to the attention of the waitress, she shrugged her shoulders and said she'll have to speak with her manager (WTF!). The manager came to our table and apologized and said she'll give me two replacement pancakes. The replacements were just a bad and the first two. I tried to cut into them and gave up and left them on the plate. When we complained to the waitress... she said there's nothing she can do! A reputable business may offer to reduce the price or more. But then... this is IHOP Concord. I believe their kitchen probably: = Overmixed the pancake batter. = Precooked a ton on pancakes and kept the warm in the oven. = Used a cheaper pancake mix to save money. = Hired newbies in the kitchen. Went here last night with friends and our experience was awful. We have never been there before so we walked in through what we learned was the back entrance and our server rudely told us that we couldn't sit ourselves in the booth we took even though there was a sign that said seat yourself. We gave our drink order and it took her around 15 mins to bring water and 2 coffees...there was 2 other tables so she was not busy at all. It took her another 15-20 mins to just take our order because she was tending to the other two tables, seemed as if she was mad we seated ourself even though we offered to move and she said it was fine. When we got our food we did not have any utensils so we asked for some and she never returned. I had to get up and go ask someone else! We were in a huge rush so as soon as our food came we asked for the bill and rudely goes "sureeee", I give her my card and she has it for about 15 mins and then my friends went out to the car. I went up to the front counter to see what was taking so long because while at the table I got an alert that my card was already ran. When I asked to sign my bill she pulled it back and told me to give her time to close the other bill. I waited and she went to charge my card again. I quickly showed her my bank statement and told her she must have closed someone elses check on mine. I get mistakes happen, but this was ridiculous! She had 20 mins to close a check that should've taken 1 minute and she messed it up. Oh, not so good, my Business partner and I fell for the good advertising. The whole IHOP to IHOB transfer to burgers caught my attention and I had to give it a shot. So our experience was mostly positive, greeted promptly, the waitress was sweet and helpful. But the FOOD, oh geez here we go, we both got "The Classic" classic more like basic. The burger was dry the patty was small and absolutely tasteless. The burger bun was a little stale no seasoning thought our whole meal. BEWARE those of you who are allergic to seafood because the French fries although hot, had a bit of a fish taste. I would recommend to change the oil or use a different fryer also grossly underseasoned. Overall 2 stars is for the service and 0 stars for the food. read more

although the restaurant is literally empty, after quite literally standing in the lobby for about 17 minutes (attached is a screenshot of our text thread with time stamps included), someone finally notices that i am waiting to be seated, but it was a busser and he just said hello and then proceeded to clock out lol. eventually i accidentally cough, and then someone seats me. this is where the beat change happens. my server though, ~Teresa~ is so upbeat and happy and asking me questions about my body and fitness and stuff (i assume because i was wearing a compression shirt and track pants). when my friends came, she took our orders and the food came relatively swiftly, and was delicious. after consuming my tilapia plate, i was craving dessert and, when asked, she came back immediately with a menu then checked on me soon thereafter to see what i wanted. i wanted the tres leches pancakes but wasn't hungry enough to eat 4. a design flaw on the menu doesn't show the availability or price for anything more or less than 4 pancakes, but ~Teresa~ figured it out for me, and i secured two pancakes, which also were delicious. Teresa was great!!! the only other minor inconvenience was that their sound system was having issues, constantly cutting out, and whoever was on the aux kept skipping songs, even bangers like Jersey Boys' Sherry! Then we finally got our seat, after a very long 1 hour wait because the staff was so unorganized. I understand it is mother's day, but how does the very rude manager not expect it to be busy. I was surprisedto see how rude a restaurantmanager was to their customers. After we sat, we ordered food right away, which took another 45 minutes to come to our table. On top of that, my omelet was very oily. Like it was sitting in a pool of oil. On top of that, the whole time we were waiting, our server did not check on us once within the 45 minute time we were waiting.. I won't be going to this ihop again.
