I was in I Hop mostly due to it's location from my home and I had a house guest who was experiencing jet lag, was hungry and we were out. She saw the sign, it appealed to her so we stopped in. I had a nostalgic feeling because I frequented IHop earlier in my life and it was as I remembered. My salad was fresh, sandwich was above average and satisfying and not expensive for a quick, efficient stop. The food, a breakfast, also satisfied her too. I wanted a senior pancake short stack but it's not on the 55+ menu so my waitress, Katie, showed me options for pancakes/french toast in the value menu for $6 instead of $8.49 in the senior menu???? Apparently, the 55+ menu only serves to upcharge you and give less food. When checking out, I said this to the manager, Emerald, who cut me off and talked over me saying it's the waitresses job to upcharge????? I said what about mutal respect and helpfulness and she cut me off, talked over me again to explain that upcharging is their job....she wouldn't respectfully acknowledge me, but just kept talking over me so I told her to STOP TALKING! She was deeply dismissive and invalidating to me, but I'm supposed to listen to her??? Listen to her justify deception and disrespect??? THIS IS THE MANAGER???!!! I haven't been to IHOP in a while but I saw an ad for the Grinch Pancakes and had to try them! I ended up trying both the Grinch pancakes as well as the Caramel Bon Bon layered with Dulce de Leche cream! As excited as I was for the Ginch Pancakes, the Caramel Bon Bon stole the show. They were the best pancakes I've ever had. The Grinch pancakes were really good, and super fun too! The only reason I have 4 stars is because my hash browns were like a brick--Super hard to eat. This location did not have the most attentive staff but they were nice. I can't wait to come back and order the Bon Bon cakes again!! read more

I hadn't been to IHOP in several years, but when they did the stunt about changing their name to IHOB, I was Curious. Are the burgers going to be that good, would I prefer a burger over a breakfast? I needed to finally come in and check it out for myself. We came a few weeks ago and I really couldn't be happier about it. When I arrived, I was going to order one of the cool burgers they serve ( probably the breakfast burger or spicy burger) but the new Grinch Who Stole Christmas inspired menu grabbed my attention. I ordered the GIANT Whoville Roastbeast omelette. It was an omelette filled with hash browns, cheese and roast beef topped with spicy peppers and onion and more roast beef and cheese. It also came with a side of pancakes that I chose to add the dulce deleche sauce to. This meal was both fun and delicious, I'll be back for more!!! read more

Whomever is making crepes needs to know that there is a difference in the batter between sweet or savory filling. You should not use the same batter for both. I wondered why my crepes with sweet filling didn't taste right. I thought it had gone bad. My husband's tomato soup was too sweet. Our salad was old so we left. I've been coming to this IHOP for many, many years. Yesterday, I tried to dine in it they closed at the dinner hour of 6 pm. So no dinner for me. Today, we got smart and arrived at 5pm. Wrong move. We ordered our meal. It unfortunately they were out of their standard red skin mashed potatoes that alternate veggies never hit our pallets quite right. (They are not tasty) we paid for our drinks even though the waitress insisted on the no charge for them. This was not her fault. I got the country fried steak. The gravy tasted like it came directly out of a can, cold. The steak was too think and over battered. The eggs tasted worse than the ones I would make from powder while deployed in afghistan, and the hasbrowns needed to be grinder to be consumed. This is just my meal...I won't even go into the other guests..the only reason it isn't a 1 Star is because our server greeted us and brought our food out, I was proud of that. Two stars because the food is always what I expect it to be, but only two stars because the service was very subpar and has been most times we go. My friend and I come here 1-2 times a week depending on the week and today the service was just awful. Very classy fellow and very kind but he didn't work with any purpose. I said my order twice through to make sure he knew what I wanted, and he still didn't bring me an extra side of mayo. I understood, it happens, but he also forgot my friend's toast. He only seemed to have us and one other table and it had taken 10+ minutes to bring the bills, as he messed them up and then he admitted to forgetting to bring them over. Now, has disappeared and we need to pay using a card. I get it if you're busy but he just seems to has hforgotten about us. He came back later finally and apologized for the lack of service. That was nice but it doesn't give us all the time we sat waiting back to us. He didn't really have an excuse for it either. Might be a bit before we come back as service has tanked and we don't want to spend 2x the amount of time we should have to here because of bad service. Location, location, location. What better location for an IHOP than right next door to a hotel? You walk out the hotel door and turn the corner and it's right there. I'd say 45 seconds to walk there...maybe a minute. Needless to say, we went here for breakfast since the hotel's free breakfast was over. They were busy as usual but we were able to find a table. Our waitress seemed busy and talked like she was reciting a speech but got our orders right. Our meals were good and just what we needed. Decor and floor plan looks just like any other IHOP. I will say that I was disappointed that they did not have soy milk to use for my coffee. I don't see why more places don't have it if they have all other milks there. I ordered the Christmas meat breakfast special which includes funnel cakes...Eggs...I always ask for them poached..not sure if they don't know how to make them or what but every time they come out fully cooked (not runny like usual...I even asked for them to make sure this time...nope!)...this seems to be the only place that messes them up. We had the boys so we thought we would check out their "Halloween scary pancake" special. We went in and was seated (by the manager) in a section off the main part of the place. Walking past two tables that were filthy, both on the table and the floor, we became skeptic of the cleanliness. These tables and flooring were still dirty when we left. We ordered our drinks, no silver ware because they were waiting on them from the dishwasher (we were told). The kids got orange juice and the three of us got coffee. Our 3 year old took two drinks of the orange juice and spit it up. Never happened before. Smelled it and it smelled sour. Before we could comment on the orange juice we were delivered our silverware... filthy!! Dried pancake on two of the forks. Disgusting! We told our waitress and she seemed very upset we were upset. "It happens" when the place is a rush. The "Halloween Pancakes" apparently brought in more people than they usually have. We politely left our table and tole the manager. He offered free meals but to be honest, it was too dirty to be eating there. This is our third time of going into IHop in Brighton and having issues with our food and cleanliness.
