It was my mom and nieces last day visiting so we decided to go to iHop for breakfast. I haven't been to iHop in about 6-7yrs, so I was down for it. Upon walking in, we were greeted by a very friendly young lady. She had a mask on, however you could hear the smile through the mask. We were seated in a booth by the window, between two other parties. It appeared that everyone knew exactly what they wanted, but me lol. As I was picking up the menu to go through it, the pages were stuck together from the syrup. It definitely gave me "nasty" vibes, but I wasn't trying to ruin breakfast lol. I decided on the French toast only with a side of extra crispy bacon. The server came back and asked me how I wanted my eggs, I was a bit confused because I ordered the French Toast only and it didn't come with eggs, just two pieces of French Toast. While we were waiting for our food, our drinks were delivered. I wanted to try the blue raspberry lemonade because I love blue raspberry. I won't lie, it tasted like a tropical punch koolaid jammer juice box. I opted for a Pepsi instead lol. Onto the food... my food arrived and I only had one piece of French Toast, which is where the discrepancy lied. What I ordered was two pieces of French Toast and a side of bacon.... Buuut the French Toast meal came with 1 piece of French Toast, eggs, and bacon. I didn't complain, I ate my food. I think God was saving me from my French Toast disappointment. The eggs were great and the bacon too. The French Toast however didn't have a taste. It was missing possibly some vanilla and needed some more cinnamon. I did not eat it all. I'm talking juicy and flavorful. Be warned that the strips are small so I would suggest getting 4 slices if you're a bacon eater like me. The pancakes were fluffy, buttery, and perfectly made. This is what Ihop is all about... The Pancakesssssssss are the highlight of the food options. LoL. The grits were creamy but bland, however, a little salt and pepper and boom, they were on and poppin. LoL!! When it comes to grits, you can doctor up the flavor but you can't doctor up the creaminess. I'm glad they came out perfectly creamy and smooth. I'll def suggest the grits for my grits lovers. It's so convenient to our house but no matter how we order (online, call in), the order is never ready when they say it will be and we end up waiting for an hour or longer. I'm not sure what all the bad reviews are about. Makes me wonder if this is the same IHOP location everyone else is talking about lol. I came here last week on a Tuesday morning at around 8-9 AM. I was seated by the hostess almost immediately coming through the door, which was a plus! My server (Stephen) came right behind her, after waiting on another table. This was all within 5 minutes. Another plus. My table was clean, the booth was clean, and most importantly, my silverware was clean. Even the syrup bottles and salt and pepper shakers were clean. Great look. I ordered a drink, the tropical something with the lemon lime soda. It had free refills. Then I ordered the sirloin tips and eggs - with cheesy scrambled eggs and cheese on the hash. I was nervous because my server didn't write any of it down and believe it or not, as simple as it sounds, people have messed it up before. But I sit back and let him do his job. As I was waiting, I connected to their complimentary wi-fi and watched music videos on my phone. I was about to ask my server for some steak sauce (Heinz 57 to be exact) but as I looked up to call for him, here he comes with a bottle of A1, ketchup, AND Heinz 57! Pluses all across the board at this point for not even having to ask lol. My food comes out within 10 minutes. Plated beautifully and the sirloin tips were cooked to juicy perfection. There's nothing worse than tough, dry, overcooked steak! My eggs were cheesy as well as my hash. My pancakes were hot and fluffy. Everything was perfect. Even the little scoop of butter on top of the pancakes was perfect lol. Major kudos to the chef! AND my server also brought out some warm syrup without me having to ask, once again! So then, as I was wrapping it up, finishing my delicious food, my cup was getting empty. I look around for my server to ask for a refill... and here he comes around the corner already with my refill in his hand... in a to-go cup! At this point, in my head I was like "okay, it's official. YOU DA MAN!!!!!!" He asked if everything was okay, if I needed anything else, and brings the check (without me having to ask, of course) and tells me "no rush, take your time, whenever you're ready." I was overly satisfied at this point. My meal came up to $17.31. I tipped my server $20 and left him a little note on the receipt that read "You were outstanding!" with a little smiley face and left. I got to my car and he ran out the door to thank me. It was sooo worth it. He deserved it. He was truly amazing. Very polite. I didn't have to speak or ask for anything because he provided everything I needed AND more. So if you want a great experience at this location, make sure you ask for Stephen!!! He's SO awesome!!! You will usually have a 5 to 8 min wait before anyone even acknowledges you.
