The following day we got take out from the Waffle House. To be honest, it wasn't all that good. Maybe cause it was take out, it got cold on the way home or it just wasn't prepared right. Or maybe the food would have tasted better if we had eaten it there. This Waffle House is right across the street from where we are staying for our trip. We wanted an easy breakfast to hold us over till we had lunch. So we stopped in to get some goodies. The venue isn't the cleanest, it looks run down. Your basic greasy spoon. Walking in, you kinda expect it to look the way it does. We were instantly greeted and was told to pick a table. We sat next to the big windows at a booth. I would have loved to sit at the breakfast bar to get the whole experience but my father in law wanted a booth. Menus were already on the table so we checked out what kind of goodies they had. Our sweet waitress got drinks started for us. After drinks were dropped off, food orders were taken. I got an egg with a side of chicken sausage patties. My husband and father in law shared a waffle breakfast that came with eggs, toast, bacon and grits. My egg was fried perfectly. The yolk was still kinda jammy which was perfect for my toast. The chicken sausage was different. It was kinda hard and a little dry. The flavor was there but the texture was tough. The waffle was so good! We loaded that baby up with butter and syrup. I like how thin it is. The waffle was the best combination of sweet and savory. Being from Idaho, I only got to watch crazy videos about the Waffle House on Tik Tok. I'm happy I got to experience a meal here. The staff was super friendly. From the wait staff to the chefs, they all thanked us for coming in. I know it's not the cleanest or most expensive breakfast joint I have been to but they whipped up a good meal and a friendly face served it. She popped up as soon as my butt hit the chair. I got my usual - a fiesta omelette and a big cold Coke Zero. I love to get the double hashbrowns, too. Only 50¢!!! You only live once... Eat the taters!! I was pretty disappointing myself because I forgot to bring my salsa. Waffle House used to serve salsa and I always got it to put on my hashbrowns. They don't carry it anymore. I guess they want you to buy the covered, smothered, stacked, smacked and jacked... and all the other stuff that they sell to decorate your taters. Maybe I'll bring my own salsa. My favorite cook was there today and I was very happy to see him. He's been working there for several years and I'm always delighted when I stop in for grub and he's there. We shared the waffle breakfast. With an extra two eggs over medium (my favorite) and the potatoes. The grits are really good, but better with syrup. Booth locations have really great staff people and really colorful walls and atmospheres. Shoutout to 809-Gabriel who helped us in 7/11/26 was excellent. 1037-Natalia was nice but a bit of an attitude and not as friendly and easy to talk with like Gabriel. We'll both be back again. An elderly gentleman and his caregiver came in but the hostess was outside for some reason. He sat himself at a dirty table. They ignored him until he started waving his arm at staff. I saw the interaction prior. 1 employee saw what he had done and told the others but they ignored the dirty table and the people until he got agitated. Then, they moved him to the table behind him, that they did clean while he was sitting there waiting to be acknowledged. We needed a quick bite in between Dr appts.
