COVID-19 Review The…read moreshowroom is easy to get too, parking isn't that great. There are a few parking spaces that run along the front of the store, but you most likely may have to park along the side streets. The showroom is large, and easy to navigate, especially during this COVID-19 time. My husband and I appreciated it. We walked around and looked at the various fireplaces and setups. We were then directed to an employee, Faye. She is a Hearth Design Specialist. She answered our questions, and gave us a card to one of their general contractors that they recommend. She gave us very useful information, more than the fireplace stores had told us. Things such as, we would need a contractor to build the frame, where the new fireplace would go. Other stores told us they would just pull out the old fireplace, and put in the new one. NO, we need to make sure that the frame would actually work for the new fireplace. Having a contractor is a must. We did further research, and yeppers, Faye was right. The employees are very nice. They know what they are doing, what they are talking about. It's easy to move around the showroom, with plenty of products to look at. They will answer your questions too. Will we be going back, most likely, after all of this COVID-19 is under control. Helpful people, nice store, knowledgeable too. Thanks!

I contacted this company late last fall 2001 after I noticed a leak in my basement from the flue…read morethat's blocked at the top. I got up on my roof and saw some cracks in the crown that I had sealed with calk years ago and they had expanded over the years. Rick and his son came out and told me the crown needed to be redone but it needed to be done when it warmed up. I asked if he could but some sealer in the cracks so they didn't get worse over the winter. Which they did. They came back the middle of May and repaired the crown. I also had him look at where the water was leaking from in the basement because I wanted to know if I should have him reseal the cap on the bottom of the blocked off flue. He said with the new crown there shouldn't be an issue with it. He could have easily said I should reseal it so he could make a little more money. But he has the kind of integrity you don't find very often anymore. I would recommend him to anyone who needs anything for there fireplace.

Complete Chimney Cleaning did a chimney and fireplace cleaning for us…read more The technician (RJ) that came to perform the work was extremely helpful and informative throughout the entire process. He explained what was being cleaned and why, and also walked through the minor repairs that he did on the roof. This transparency was very appreciated and helped me understand what was going on. Our household also has several pets and RJ was very considerate of them during the cleaning, going the extra mile to make sure what he was doing wouldn't upset them. For the value of the cleaning service, I am very happy! Also want to ensure that RJ is recognized for both his customer service and for his professionalism during the cleaning process!

Trying to schedule a cleaning and checkup on our gas fireplace was more complicated than our…read moremortgage application. The scheduler (Sherri) also exhibited some pretty severe passive aggressive tendencies when I told her that I hadn't gotten her phone call on the day of our 2nd appointment (and 2nd cancelation) and I called to ask when the technician might be coming by. I live in Boulder in a known cell tower dead zone and often miss calls or drop calls midway. She was snarky when I told her that I hadn't gotten her call. I gave her my daughter's cell phone as a backup in case she had trouble reaching me for my 3rd scheduled make-up appointment. When I didn't get that call but she reached my daughter my daughter called me and asked me what her problem was bc she was so snarky with her. So I got the third makeup appointment booked and decided that I would check other places as I really was starting to wonder about this place and their other negative Yelp reviews reinforce the feeling that I got from my 3-4 contacts with this outfit. Got booked with a terrific company, A Brighter Glow in Brighton and had the best experience on the phone with an immediate confirmation and followup text and the tech Roy was professional and prompt and meticulous. I will be a repeat customer of theirs and the contrast in professionalism and customer care is like night and day with The Gas Connection. I am sure that they would have cancelled on me the 3rd time and I am glad that I don't have to deal with Sherri ever again.

I just got an email from Goodrich Chimney offering discounted services to get ready for fall. I…read morerealized I never wrote a review on the work I contracted with them to complete. Bought a house and the chimney was in disrepair. They suggested I put a sleeve in the chimney stack instead of repairing / replacing the bricks that could allow embers to gain access to other parts of the house. Could be a huge issue if the house were to burn right? The sleeve was inserted, but now the smoke from the fireplace would fill the room. When I asked for them to come and fix it, they just told me that I would have to start the fire directly in the middle of the fireplace. That didn't work, so I stopped using the fireplace for a bit of time. Later, I went to a different company. They did an inspection and noted several issues with the sleeve installed by Goodrich. Once you see the photos below, it makes complete sense why the smoke was coming back into the house! Why didn't they cut the excess length off the sleeve and allow the smoke to draft completely. Even so, the diameter of the sleeve was also questionable - so everything they did was just money down the drain. I absolutely cannot recommend this company and wish I had read Yelp before hiring them.
