I contacted this company late last fall 2001 after I noticed a leak in my basement from the flue that's blocked at the top. I got up on my roof and saw some cracks in the crown that I had sealed with calk years ago and they had expanded over the years. Rick and his son came out and told me the crown needed to be redone but it needed to be done when it warmed up. I asked if he could but some sealer in the cracks so they didn't get worse over the winter. Which they did. They came back the middle of May and repaired the crown. I also had him look at where the water was leaking from in the basement because I wanted to know if I should have him reseal the cap on the bottom of the blocked off flue. He said with the new crown there shouldn't be an issue with it. He could have easily said I should reseal it so he could make a little more money. But he has the kind of integrity you don't find very often anymore. I would recommend him to anyone who needs anything for there fireplace. read more

Do not use this service. My roommate and I are 2 young women living in an apartment. We have a fireplace that we needed inspected so we can use it. My roommate very specifically told the guy to do the inspection and then talk to her before starting the cleaning because we wanted info from the inspection to make a decision about which cleaning to get. He went ahead and did the most expensive cleaning without talking to us, my roommate was home alone with this strange man in our home so of course she felt pressured into paying him because she was scared to stand up for herself with this guy while she was all alone. Not trustworthy, this is bad business. Then he didn't even provide a report! He gave us an ereceipt with an incorrect phone number- sketchy. When I found the right number, I had to call nearly 10 times over the course of the week to get the report. Every time they would say "we will send it right away" and take my info and then not send it. Over and over. You guys scammed us. You told me you would have a supervisor call me, that never happened. I had to actually harass you to get something that could have been emailed to me in under 10 minutes. Get your shit together. read more

My chimney needed a cleaning and a cap replacement and I was able to connect with Completely Chimney over the RAQ portal. Spencer made two trips to my home: one to inspect the chimney and clean it, another to repair the crack in the cap. Spencer was timely, professional and got the job done in less than an hour. Bonus that he has capabilities to accept credit card payments through his phone. Oh, technology! Spencer also gave some good advice about converting our wood burning fireplace to gas. They do not offer that particular service, but had a referral in Denver if I wanted to pursue. Not a huge priority right now, but good for future use. read more

I was a bit nervous, but they let me know the night before it would be morning, rather than afternoon. Unfortunately their general made a huge misleading mistake when telling us his crew was going to be on site working in the building from 9am to 3:30pm. We drove 2 hours to meet his crew. Got there a little after 10am. So then we called at 10:30 to see where his guys were and he said they were on site and that he tried multiple times to call them but they were not answering his calls. We then called back an hour later at 11:30 only to find out that they had already left. So to cover himself he then lied to the "owners" stating that my attitude was unacceptable and they would not be back. So we went with a different family & locally owned business. The day of service, Spencer was friendly, informative and very helpful. We thought we needed a cleaning from what our inspector suggested. Chimney sweeps: Rick, Josh and their team are terrific! These guys know their stuff. Rick is a veteran firefighter and therefore he and Josh are extremely safety-oriented. When I moved into my home, they inspected and cleaned my old chimney. During the process they were very careful to protect my floors from soot and foot traffic - leaving my home as clean as when they arrived. They made recommendations about upgrading my chimney cap but were not pushy or sales-y. They are very professional in that they call to confirm the appointment the night before and communicate the day of the appointment if they are running behind. Rick, in particular, has an excellent "bedside manner". In addition to cleaning my chimney, I hired these guys to install a wood fireplace insert. This took a small army to complete but, again, they were respectful of my furnishings and generally cleaned up after themselves. Josh provided me with a a full page of instructions about how to burn my first fires in the stove and how to test to ensure the appropriate oxygen levels. This was far more detailed than the owners' manual and greatly appreciated! After the installation, I discovered I had failed to order a decorative piece and could not attach it myself due to the weight of the insert. I discussed my situation with the office staff, who were very pleasant and accommodating. During the busy chimney season, it is not very feasible to throw in an extra trip without charging for the time. However, they came back to the house to help me as soon as they had a job in my area - saving me a trip charge for 15 minutes of work. I intend on using Complete Chimney Cleaning for my yearly chimney cleaning and other fireplace related services. I feel they are trustworthy and worthy of a long term relationship. read more

Chimney sweep: Not recommended. Josh and his team were prompt and courteous but seemed to lack knowledge. They had an issue removing my insert to clean the chimney and they seemed stumped. Something was hung up and the insert would not simply slide out. So after 20 minutes and 3 sweepers, they gave up, charged me a trip charge and left. Although after they left I was able to remove the insert myself 10 minutes later. Haven't heard anything from them since. I understand that they were fully booked for the day, but that seemed more important to them than trying to resolve my issue. Customer service was fine, but knowledge was lacking. My advise look somewhere else for your sweep. read more

Rick and Josh are incredible! They let me know that the chimney didn't need any cleaning (we just moved into a rental house), however, the chimney cap did need to be replaced and the mortar should be resealed next summer. The fact that they didn't try to sell me anything right away, but instead wanted to educate me on why they recommeded what they did made a very positive impression on me. We first called on Complete Chimney a couple of months ago to do a cleaning since it had not been cleaned or used in over 12 years. Jeremy was very prompt in coming out and the fireplace was clean, but one of the pipes was off set and was not connected. I decided that my husband and I could try to fix it, but after trying to match up the pipe and it not sitting right, I decided to call back out the professionals. Originally I was quoted a price a lot higher than what I paid, but to have peace of mind that I would have a working fireplace, it was well worth it. They came out on time and were very courteous. Said that they could not charge what was quoted because it didn't take as much time or effort. We came to an agreeable price that we both were happy with within seconds. They Have cancelled twice... Charge 50 for inspection... But they do have cheaper cleaning than most...Had to find another company who came out even in the snow to test our fireplace and did a free inspection, and didn't even need to clean the fireplace... Josh and his team are my heroes! I had a live bird above my fireplace damper. They came out the same day, put a brush down the chimney, scared the bird, he hopped on and voila! He was out. He shook himself off and flew away. I was so grateful. I never thought this was going to work. vacuumed out 4 blower vents said he got out mice and excrement still stinks really bad but not only that. I was told by State of Co that they are against vacuuming mice droppings in dusty closed up places due to HANTA VIRUS. My wife is coughing and sick ever since. I was asked if he opened windows first I said no and did he wear a mask no. They said Colorado has deer mice and breathing the dust from it can make you sick. I was told vacuuming is not good unless you bleach first. I am shocked they just vacuum without warning a customer of what could happen! I know they do it all the time well I had to air out my house and wash all my furniture shampoo my rugs to feel like its safe. It still smells like a animal decomposing! What was the point if the smell never left anyway better off just keeping it closed up and letting it decompose anyway. No difference except I paid them to do nothing but push dust all over my living room. My wife is sick. I assumed it was a hepa filter shop vac but obviously not. Also he did not get up on the roof and check the top of the chimney because it was too hot up there. I still do not know if its secured at top of fireplace so animals cant get in. read more
