The salesperson was excellent -- professional, helpful, and easy to work with. After some back-and-forth, you know where they go back to sales manager get price then come back present it and so forth. Well after a couple of those, we were presented a price and agreed, then proceeded to next steps where they try to sell u all the add ons which we said no, salesperson then proceeds to next steps to get final paperwork. Then the sales manager walked in. He introduced himself and said: "You drove too far to get here to walk away from this deal." Great first impression, right? Probably needs to read some sales books to figure out how to talk to customers or go learn from the more experienced sales managers that work there, heck chatgpt could help him out. He then proceeded to renegotiate the agreed-upon price and increase it, and afterward offered us a different vehicle. The salesperson looked shocked and clearly appeared to be caught off guard by what was happening. At that point, we decided to walk away. Yes, we drove a long way -- and yes, we walked away. Changing the price after an agreement had been reached was extremely disappointing and completely changed what had been a positive buying experience. The salesperson deserves credit for the excellent experience up until that point. Unfortunately, the sales manager's handling of the situation ended the deal. Normally, I would avoid writing reviews unless compelled to but given my experience thought it may help others. I would not recommend this dealership. There are plenty of other dealerships where you can expect a straightforward and professional buying experience.

Garry, this is the first time I haven't gotten even mildly upset at the dealership having to reject a pushy salesman. Garry won't bother you to buy new windshield wipers for $80. If your front passenger tire is getting kind of old, Garry's not gonna tell you to replace all 4. Just the front 2 (to keep it even with its pair). I'm sad I'm moving soon and probably won't go here again anytime soon. We need more people like Garry man. Keep up the great work. TLDR: this place inspected my car, told me what was crucial to be serviced, told me what I should look out for later, and wasn't pushy at all.

My daughter was seriously interested in a 2026 Honda CR-V with very specific color and specifications. She contacted Michelle Lam, who confirmed that the exact vehicle was available. Based on that confirmation, she scheduled an appointment, and I drove all the way from Fremont to San Francisco to accompany her. When we arrived, we were told Michelle was not there. One person said she had the day off, while we had previously been told by Michelle that she was expecting to meet my daughter. Then came the bigger surprise: we were suddenly told that the exact CR-V we had been assured was available had already been sold that morning. If the vehicle had been sold, why wasn't my daughter informed before she made an appointment and why was she told it was available? Instead of simply apologizing for the poor communication, the sales team and manager immediately started trying to push other vehicles on her. We were not interested in being pressured into buying something different. We decided to leave. But what happened next was the part that really crossed the line. One of the salespeople mocked my daughter, showing her a list of similar SUVs supposedly available in Southern California and laughing about it. There was absolutely no reason to treat a customer that way. It was disrespectful, immature, and completely unacceptable. I drove from Fremont expecting a professional car-buying experience. Instead, we experienced poor communication, conflicting stories, wasted time, pressure to buy another vehicle, and disrespectful behavior toward my daughter. After 33+ years of buying vehicles, I have never encountered a group of salespeople who handled a customer interaction this poorly. I understand that a dealership doesn't have to offer a particular price, but refusing to provide a quote simply because a customer wants to compare offers seems like a poor way to treat a potential customer--especially someone who already drives a Kia and is looking to lease another Kia. I wasn't asking them to hold a vehicle or spend hours with me at the dealership. I was simply asking for their lease numbers so I could compare them with other Kia dealers. I originally placed a preorder with another Toyota dealership in Oakland in May 2026 and was told the vehicle would arrive in approximately three months. When I followed up three months later, I learned that the dealership had never actually placed my order. Needless to say, I was extremely disappointed. I am still currently waiting on sale list there. :( I was referred to contacted Kevin Duong from City Toytota, and he immediately stepped in to help--even though he was about to leave for vacation. He was able to locate the perfect car, exactly what we wanted, and at the best price!!! Yes, I did my research. Then Ryan helped facilitate the sale and made sure the entire purchase went smoothly from beginning to end since Kevin had schedule to go on vacation. Have fun! I have purchased many cars over the years, and this was easily the second-smoothest car-buying experience I have ever had. The worst one was the lexus dealer ship in Oakland.
