I contacted Mike to take a look at a used Dodge Challenger. The ad claimed it was "showroom condition". Upon meet up, I was extremely surprised it was indeed showroom condition considering the vehicle was 12 years old! I test drove the car and told Mike I would "sleep on it" to make sure it was the car I wanted. He completely understood and suggested it as well. He was not pushy at all. In the meantime, he went out of his way to scan all the service records and Carfax to my email upon request. After reviewing all the records, I knew the vehicle was well taken care of since day 1. Purchased a 2003 F-150 SVT Lightning from Mike and he had it shipped to me in SoCal. Due to the pandemic. I could not travel to inspect the truck in person. I was waiting for my car to finish being serviced and went for a walk. I almost walked by the shop without seeing it. He is a small dealer, but had one of the cars on my shortlist. I found the owner to be evasive and not entirely honest. In some instances he didn't answer direct questions that I asked him -- he did this on purpose. He changed the topic or gave me a non answer, which is OK for a little while, but it went beyond being a good sales person, in my view, the answers became intentionally deceitful. Then, for some other questions, he simply got the answers / facts wrong. I don't know if him not knowing was intentional here... to give him some benefit of the doubt, he is selling unique cars so its possible that he didn't know all of the details. But -- its not acceptable to just make up answers which are incorrect. Sometimes the facts really matter. As a small business owner myself, I don't like throwing down 1 star reviews, but this one is rightfully deserved. PS & Update -- Yes, this is a review for the Roadsport located in San Ramon. I see all the business owners accusations (via his public reply and via email), claiming that he doesn't know me. Its not my problem if he doesn't remember me. We originally bought from Mike in September 09--an 06 MB suv. We wanted to get it a CPO from the dealership but we were specific in wanting the AMG trim package. Low and behold Mike had one. Prior to meeting Mike, we've always been skeptical with independent dealerships. As with everything else in the world, there's always "the good ones" and "the bad ones". Mike is up there with the good ones. He's honest, trust worthy and straight forward, nothing like your typical fast talking salesman. I've purchased several cars from Roadsport over the years. In every case, Mike was open and honest about every detail, even pointing out the smallest flaws. For the most part, Roadsport cars are nearly flawless. I just purchased a gorgeous E350 with the Designo option. It was the only E350 with the Designo option for sale anywhere in the country. The car is flawless, and Mike was able to work a fantastic deal for me, and even got me 1.9% financing. Got a great deal on my trade-in as well.
