We went at a perfect time literally no one in restraunt!!! The music was 70's We started off with the lobster bisque it was delicious but not hot... then we had the crab cakes more like frozen reheated cakes with Sriracha sauce. I came for lunch on 2/3/26, left Margaret a generous $10 tip, and ordered Kate's cobb salad to have for dinner that night. When I got out the salad later, there was no salad dressing. I called to report it, they didn't answer their phone (they rarely do), it was cold and dark, I'm a senior citizen, live 30 minutes away, wasn't about to drive back downtown, didn't have any dressing at home, and had to eat my $18.99 salad dry which, by the way, had very little chicken on it. The next time I was at Ido was 2/27/26. I told the bartender what happened and showed her my receipt. I asked her what they could do to make things right. She had to call Steve (owner? manager?) and rather than give me a credit or another salad, he said I should have returned the salad and then, get this, he offered to give me salad dressing! Like what am I supposed to do with that, wise guy? Rub it on my face? I've always liked the food at Ido but I'm definitely not in a hurry to return since the management doesn't care about its customers. So heads up! Ido is a local neighboorhood restaurant and bar established in 1998. The exterior is very plain but the inside is nicely decorated and the staff is very friendly and provides great service. Prices are good and food is good. It isn't high end cuisine but is a great place and has lots of repeat customers. Give Ido a try if you are in the neighborhood. read more

Ido Bar and Grill is exactly what you would expect it to be. It is old and the decor reflects that. We were there on a weeknight and it was about half full.. I chose steak and it was quite good and very fair for the price . Not sure if they were short of staff, but the waitress was rushed and kept apologizing for the delay, which was about 45 minutes . Really good neighborhood bar and grill. We recently went on a Saturday for lunch, and were extremely pleased with our meal. Mozzarella Wedges, Pierogi's with sausage and onions started off our lunch in style. Their mozzarella wedges may be the best in town. The pierogi's were, well, pierogi's. Not the best I've ever had, but still solid. And c'mon, they are still pierogi's!!! I had the prime rib sliders and my wife had a burger. Really, really good burgers here btw. Definitely worth checking out! Can't go wrong with the sliders either. Shame on the Ido! We've gone to the Ido for years but tonight we were refused service because my husband has a service dog. We were told they don't allow service animals. This ridiculous and shameful. Also it's illegal to deny entrance to a service animal. Our server was courteous and helpful despite forgetting a drink (which he did provide later for free). Two of us tried the burgers they were supposedly famous for - they weee not bad but also not good. The special blend really didn't have much taste and was well down without any juice. Seems very greasy spoon on the interior upon first walk in but staff was very friendly welcoming and on top of it. The menu was huge so I asked for a recommendation from the server. As a former employee, I worked here for about 4 days before walking out. The kitchen is pretty yucky. Cooks do not wear gloves or regularly wash hands, even though gloves are provided, and the cooks have been there for 10ish years. They haze and harass the younger dishwashers and say foul things to them, they're extremely rude to the female serving staff. When the owner leaves the cooks start drinking alcohol on the line while handling customers food. The place is poorly operated. I started working Saturday, the owner neglected to have me fill out employment paperwork until after I quit. There's no one to handle scheduling or anything past the owner who just comes and goes, and handles business whenever he decides he wants to get around to it. I worked here for 4 days. The man pays me for ten hours. I sent him my logged hours in a text because I was never given any type of time card or anything, he never read my text and told me that he asked around and came up with a number. I explained to him that I sent him the hours in a text as I was there filling out paperwork, he told me he'll look into it and maybe next week....... So if you enjoy washed up cooks that cross contaminate your food by not using simple food safety techniques due to them flat out not caring and being lazy, and an owner who wings it in the kitchen and makes up for it from bar sales.....then this is your place read more

Came down to Akron to see a show at the Civic Center and when my friend suggested this place to eat at beforehand I was a little hesitant, but boy I am happy to report what a pleasant surprise Ido's was! Four of us dined on things like chicken paprikash soup $1.99, prime rib sliders $10.99, the pork chop special, a burger and fries, and the Sonoma chicken. All of us enjoyed our meals. I loved that I could get more than just french fries with my order of sliders. Sometimes you just want a green vegetable that isn't deep dried. The sliders are spicy though so watch out for those Hungarian peppers! Also, I thought my sliders were a bit dry so I got a side of the brown gravy to dip them in and that really helped with texture and taste. There were several things on the menu that I wanted to try out so I will definitely make the drive to eat here again! This place reminds me of a diner back in my hometown that I worked at in high school. Simple good comfort food. No high prices. A-Okay service. Very unassuming. This is worth the drive for an enjoyable meal, great service and hometown feel. I've had Ido on my list for several years as I don't find myself near Firestone Park in the evening very often, if this sounds familiar then don't wait get over there for a really great dining experience. I had to try the Maddie's Mac N Cheese only because it sounded so outrageous, it was and I couldn't finish the huge portion but savored the sauce of the nicely fried chicken. My wife had crab and shrimp over pasta which she found fresh and tasty. The food was comfort but in the best way, well prepared and thought out with very good ingredients. The menu is extensive and I'm looking forward to trying other types of dishes such as steak, fish fry and some of the lighter entrees. The pierogis were obviously not authentic, local pierogis like Janka (my favorite). This is why I gave 3 stars instead of 4. The prime rib sliders are so delicious! You get three STACKED sandwiches with onions, Hungarian peppers, cheese and mushrooms on them! So delicious! Get a side of horseradish sauce to go with it (they come plain)!
