My senior dad has an iphone 8 plus, that needed battery replacement. Salmaan (the "maan" is…read morepronounced, as in Montag, the english pronunciation) Phone Repair had excellent ratings, and was nearby. So, I called to see if this was possible. Salmaan said yes. My GPS direction, made me miss the turn. It's inside the Blue Oaks Town Center, across from the Cinemark Century movie theater. Overall, it was a positive experience. Short and simple; with a good price and customer service. There's phone/tablet accessories on the walls that you can buy, and a seating area. They also sell second hand phones. So, you can also upgrade your phone. And complimentary coffee and bottled water. * Btw, if you have any questions for Salmaan - just call. His preference is speaking on the phone. It saves him time.

He did a great job upgrading my battery and port but gave me the absolute WORST ADVICE to upgrade…read moremy iOS from iOS18 to iOS27 just to see the stupid battery %. Well that failed like I told him I was expecting it too and now it gave me an incredibly slow and sluggish phone. To make matters worse, my backup which had ios18...I restored the backup, lost 2 days of data but still stuck with ios27. Apple will restore your backup but not previous iOS. I am stuck in ios27 hell. The GOLDEN RULE with Apple since I've owned an Iphone 4 is to NEVER UPGRADE YOUR IOS, it's a DOWGRADE. I spent $140 on replacing my battery/port but I would've been better off buying a new phone. So I am stuck with the absolutely shitty ios27 and a slow unusable phone. And maybe that's not Salmaan's fault but Apple's fault, you think. But I never wanted to upgrade my iOS. I only did it at Salmaan's behest so we could see battery %. I trusted his expertise. Big mistake. Initially, I declined but Salmaan was convincing. Salmaan is not an iOS expert and is not up to date with things like unsigned IPSW files. I think Salmaan still thinks if you backup an iphone with earlier iOS, the phone can be rolled back to that iOS from that backup. No it's impossible. Salmaan should never encourage any older iphone models to upgrade iOS like iphone 12 pro max. I just trusted his expertise which was my mistake. I should've trusted my own intuition. Of course, Apple will never let you see battery % done with 3rd party. I had the same issue in my 1st repair with Salmaan. Apple controls everything. And now my phone is useless. The risk of permanently losing ios18 was never worth the reward of seeing a stupid battery %. I never upgrade my ios to increase longevity and functionality of my devices. I am well aware of this but Salmaan is an Android guy so he doesn't understand this and should NEVER get advice about upgrading ios.

#UPDATE After a little over a week of use. The caveats below…read morestill persist. One thing I've also been noticing is my screen will sometimes lag heavily. This goes for watching a video as well. Video will be choppy/laggy and this never happened to my original screen. Sometimes if I charge my phone and play music and use Apple Maps, the screen will also lag heavily I'll. Again this never happened with original screen. I've also noticed greatly that my battery % is being drained a lot faster. Even if it's regular use like how I did with my original Apple screen. I suspect it's the aftermarket screen. However, the 4 star review will still stay. Just an update. Will probably buy a new phone soon but this is still decent for $85. Great customer service. Fast service. I replaced my iPhone 15pro screen due to cracked screen. The only downside that resulted in 4/5 star is the aftermarket screen. It's great for a quick on the go if you don't want to spend $180+ for an original screen. The lighting on the aftermarket screen does have a light blue led color to it and it is not as vibrant as an orignal Apple screen. This you can tell. I don't mind this as my eyes will get adjusted to it. However, my biggest gripe to where I can tell a big difference on is the lag input on swiping. Just swiping the Home Screen to the next screen, the apps become blurry and it isn't a smooth transition. Another, big issue is the touch screen. I did put another screen protector layer on top of the new after market seal (the seal is part of a warranty depending on if it breaks or not). So I decided to try and protect my screen further. Upon doing so, I can tell a big difference in typing my letters especially the letters to the side of the screen "A a S P L & backspace". I now have to press my screen ALOT harder to register the letter I want. I find myself having to backspace and retype my words a lot more as pressing the letters do not register sometimes. Sometimes swiping from bottom screen up to close an app also does not work and I would have to press my screen hard to swipe up. Overall, this is a good purchase for a quick $85 on the go. If you do not mind the caveats I have listed here (maybe it's just my screen) then $85 is great. Other than that, you may want to spend more and get an original Apple screen.
