Came in for the first time the other day with my dad. Just getting into the hobby and knew nothing about where to start. Owner and workers are so polite and took time to teach me about this hobby. I came in the next day to show them my cards I pulled the night before. They Immediately became so happy for me and talked about how good the cards were. I was the area for work and decided to check out a few baseball cards shops. When I was first walked in, I was greeted and the store owner asked if he could help find anything particular (excellent customer service). The store was filled tons of cards, so it is fun to be able to check out cards even if I was not looking for anything in particular. Everyone thing was reasonable price, but once in a while some items did not get changed to what they sell for now (understandable since there so many cards to update). The owner was helpful in getting cards for me to look at and offered some nice deals on 2016-17 basketball packs and singles. I will come back the next time I am in town for work. read more

Cards, cards, cards...they are everywhere...complete sets, singles, autographs, you name it all at below market prices. Great older selection too. Ideal Baseball Cards is located not all that far from where baseball legend Pete Rose grew up, but it's not just him but legends (and actual Hall of Famers) from all the major sports who have trading cards sitting inside the Westwood hobby shop. Ideal Baseball Cards is also home to the A.B.C. Coin Co. (buy and sell gold and coins, paper money, and watches), and houses some Rookwood Pottery and Yu-Gi-Oh! cards, but for me and probably most of the store's customers, it's all about the baseball cards and sports collectibles. While a store like Montgomery's Sports Investments has all kinds of neat, but really expensive signed memorabilia, Ideal Baseball Cards focuses on more of the classic, yet cheaper collectibles. Although they do have plenty of more pricy things, it's easy to be fascinated by smaller things like an '88 All-Star Game program and old framed photos and pennants. The best thing about the store, though, is the collection of baseball cards of course. They have boxes lined up towards the back of the store with the labels indicating that the hobby shop contains cards from the last four decades. They also feature some of the best cards around, with names like Killebrew, Banks, Koufax, and the NBA's Jerry West looking almost ordinary, displayed in the back corner. Those old cards are more expensive than the baseball cards you once slid out of a pack along with some bubble gum, but at one time they were just like any other card. I was so impressed with their selection of cards that I half expected to see the legendary rare Honus Wagner cards that have hit seven figures. Ideal Baseball Cards also has at least 50 Ken Griffey, Junior cards, and some other more modern cards, but most of their merchandise is dated, a good thing in the baseball card industry. They have bobbleheads and other newer items like Cincinnati Bengals framed photos, but baseball cards are what the store is about for me (since I'm not into rare coins or Yu-Gi-Oh!). The hobby of collecting baseball cards has died down dramatically, and while I no longer purchase packs either, any former collector can really appreciate the neat cards that they have at this store. If you're looking for the best modern day cards, Baseball Card Corner (Montgomery) is your store, but for the cards of the legends, Ideal Baseball Cards is the "ideal" store for you. read more

While visiting my home state of Ohio from Arizona, I finally was able to treat myself to a visit to Mike Siska's Ideal Baseball Cards and coin shop. After communicating with Mike for a time over some items I wanted, I made the trip - and it didn't disappoint. Going into the shop was like going back in time - you couldn't beat the amount of vintage Cincinnati Reds - and Redlegs memorabilia - not to mention the solid rows of wooden seats from Crosley Field. Not only can you get re-acquainted with Reds names of the past like Pete Rose, Johnny Bench, Ted Kluszewski and Sparky Anderson, but items relating to Rawly Eastwick, Ed Armbrister and Eric Davis are there, too. This old-school shop is chock-full of great items from a bygone era, your childhood days and current times and is well worth a visit. The shop's owner is very friendly, helpful and accommodating. Get in there and check it out! They don't make very many shops like this anymore - and I will go back because I don't think you'll ever run out of good items you'll want to take home. Went in today to check out some baseball card sets and was impressed by the selection. As far as baseball cards go, this is the place! From signed cards, to full sets dating back to the 60s , this place has great selection and pricing. The owner is onsite and is very knowledgeable and willing to give advice and quotes on items if your willing to sell. Also has great memorabilia stash including pictures, signs and flags. Along with baseball and football cards , he also has a solid selection of coins (which I have little input on). Owner was honest and strait about his pricing - when I found a set of 87' donruss baseball cards priced differently in 2 spots in the store he admitted I found a deal and was willing to even go down on the lowest marked price. His pricing on some other merchandise (ultra*pro sleeves and pages) was a little bit higher than expected but I must say they had everything you could want in this aspect.
