I'm sure that I am going to upset quite a few people but I really can't stand this place. I do however love the fact that they have so many cool things that you can go and buy but in my case I went to buy painting canvases. Now you would think that the sales they have and the coupons would make this the most desirable place to buy canvases but when I got them home and I put them on the wall they were all bowed and just had terribly crafted. As a working artist, craftsmanship is very much a part of what makes the work desirable and the canvas is often the foundation. Imagine building a house on the terrible foundation! I guess I should've really paid more attention to the name "hobby" I should only be mad at myself because this is definitely not a hobby and this purchase set me back quite a bit. I must have spent a couple of hundred dollars at Hobby Lobby in the past month. I have hand knitted a chunky blanket for a Christmas gift. The colours have run . I followed the washing instructions which were NOT on the wrapper of the yarn but from a web site. Cold wash. Delicate, no dryer. Hobby lobby will " consider" an exchange or refund??? If I exchange this blanket ? I'm undoing all the work that I put in!! In fact !! I don't trust your company!! Substandard products don't work well with me!! I want a refund!! So I can go and buy yarn that doesn't bleed. Joann fabric is a better option even if I have to drive there. SHAME on your so called CHRISTIAN VALUES!! You make a mockery of being CHRISTIAN!!! read more

I love this store! The employees are helpful. I always find what I am looking for. The selection of home accessories is varied and the sales are great. Sometimes the lines at checkout are long but they frequently will open another register to help the flow. I am so happy with the fabric and sewing selection since we're don't have any seeing stores in this area. The coupon on their app is very convenient. read more

I was a stranger in a strange land. I walked into this store on the very off chance that they would need two odd items that I needed to complete my beehive. Yes, I've built two bee hives. I need beeswax to melt and spread on the walls of the hive to make the bees feel at home and I needed a corks to plug up some holes that would later need to be unplugged. This place had both items I needed. And a whole lot of crap that I can't imagine any man ever wanting to walk through. It is a vast space of womanly interests. And beeswax and corks. If you have an innocuously obsession, this looks to be the place to scratch whatever itch you have. Apparently 'scrapbooking' is America's biggest new industry. As Chuck Berry sang, 'C'est la vie say the old folks, it goes to show you never can tell/' The one main drawback was a lack of help or interest from the staff. I had to ask where the beeswax may be and was pointed in a general direction. I had to make a return trip because I bought the wrong sized corks on my first. In that massive space a woman was restockign the shelves right where the corks were. I said, excuse me and was told she'd be done in a minute. I tried to maintain a Buddha-like nature but let her know 'I ain't got time for you'. read more

I am not by strict definition "crafty", but I do have creative aspirations that occasionally require a visit to this type of establishment. Like Howard, I have had similar experiences with the staff and chalk some of it up to the sheer immensity of this place. It's like an airport hangar, and is full of so much stuff I can't completely blame the workers for not knowing where everything is located. That being said, I do think there tends to be too few workers on the floor. Most recently I needed to buy a few frames and found a few great candidates and, just my luck, all frames were half off! Awesome. There actually are some more "masculine" items that might make great gifts for the guys in your life. Everything from cool metal vintage car signs to western themed shadow boxes that would make great wall decoration should he want to open up a Texas Roadhouse in his man cave. And there are plenty of sports themed fabric (perfect for making a snuggie for you to keep you warm when he drags you along to sit in the freezing cold while the Bengals try to eek out a win but fail to do so in the final minutes). Phew. *Due to religious reasons, this place is not open on Sundays. While I respect that, I just hope I never need an emergency glue gun refill on that day. ha ha *This location used to be a Target, if you're GPS takes you off course, try entering that. I should mention at the outset to the reader that this is a review only of the frame shop at the back of the store, and that I realize I'm a fairly permissive grader, such that on occasion I find myself wishing I could give out a sixth star. I would not give this frame shop a sixth star, on price alone though, good grief it's like back when I was nine during the RWR recession and she took all of us to the apprentice hairstylists academy so they could practice on us for half price, it's unbelievably cheap hopping over from the campus area especially. On quality, my standards are not perfectionist. For example I've been meaning to write a review and yesterday was in there to get a print of 'The Mahabharata' room matted, this being one of six of my Rooming House rooms. They helped me with a publicity photo from the film, especially with two mats that had 'black center' when you slice in instead of white, very nice framing a B&W photo, and so I took that one in to get my print from AllPosters of a temple wall, a scene from the Hindu epic, and get the exact same matting (and then in a months get the last of my three decorative posters for outside the door, the movie poster in French). Anyhow, their new technician insisted on taking the AllPosters print apart to get both measurements and pricing right from the start, and it turns out that was important because they fuse the whole thing together on pressboard. Last time I tried to just have one of theirs removed and another substituted it meant finding out later we needed a new mat, and on an unusual size it took an extra month. So, I'm not like that and most of their staff aren't (quite) like that. But still I have noticed infrequent errors that they fix for free, but you can't expect people hired and trained from scratch to perform to the quality of a sole proprietor frame shop with decades of experience. They've got quality control and it works well enough, modest hassle for massive savings as I'm just about done with a job I've been working on for over two years, and have learned how to do some of this on my own. I would point out to the perfectionist though, that for you it may not be a choice between here and Michaels. Rather you may want to look more toward various professional frame shops and their reviews. read more

The staff is always great The selection is amazing. Decor items are always trending, and I have never walked in there and not seen a sale. Literally there is a new sale every week, and a good sale at that. I'm in there at least a few times a month, minimum. Love them! read more

I am a guy who just picked up garment sewing (yes we exist) and needed to rehab the sewing machine I was gifted that had been bought and not used in 17 years. I needed sewing machine oil to lubricate the machine. I also wanted to check out some fabric for men's dress shirts for future projects. I called up and asked if they had sewing machine oil. "I don't think so, but just in case, let me transfer you to the fabric department," was the reply. Then I got a lady with a cordial, but not exactly warm and strictly business, demeanor who said they did carry it and she offer to check if it was in stock. I was placed on hold for about 30 seconds and she returned and not only said they had it but without being asked told me their price. I arrived about 20 minuets later and didn't have a clue as to where to go in this massive building. The girls at the register looked me over as I stood there like a deer caught in someone's headlights and finally, begrudgingly, said "Do you need help?" I told them I was told they had sewing machine oil. They gave general and confusing directions to the fabric department. After about ten minuets of wandering through isles that were 10 feet high that blocked your view of where you were going, I suddenly stumbled into the fabric department which was like finding a secret meadow hidden deep in a forbidden forest. The shelves were only about five feet high and it really felt comfortable. The lady at the counter was cutting fabric for another customer so I turned my attention to finding the oil myself and checking out the fabric. I found the oil myself, as well as some stitch tape I realized might solve a problem I was having. The fabric counter lady finished with her customer and I went up to her and asked her if the stitch tape would solve the problem I had. She told me it would and explained how to use it. I then told her I was going to oil my machine and it hadn't been used in seventeen years when it was new, and she told me I needed to open it up and put a special grease on the metal gears after I cleaned it out of all dust and instructed me where to use the oil. She asked me what model of machine I had (a Singer 9020) and she gave complete disassembly instructions specific to that model right of the top of her head. I asked her if they carried the special grease and she said, "I am sorry, but no." All in all she was helpful and she wasn't chatting me up to try to get me to buy more stuff. She was pretty old; I would say she's working part time in her retirement. She was very matter of fact, but still polite. In the end I had to order the grease online, which I could have gotten the oil at the same place for about 30% less, but this lady taught me a lot about my machine and in a way I would remember it. I only wish this lady was at a real fabric store near me. Hobby Lobby is the only thing close to me and the fabric selection was nothing like Jo-Ann's when they were in Delhi, and that was a very small store for Jo-Ann's. Walking through an aircraft hanger full of everything under the sun didn't help the experience either. read more

I love Hobby Lobby. I have shopped there for quite awhile. I have never had anything framed but I did get a terrific deal on a trunk that I use as a coffee table. Nope they are not open on Sundays, I wouldn't be shopping on Sundays anyway. That's God''s day. And yes, I absolutely love their selection in music. read more
