We received a coupon in the mail via ValPak for a $29.95 lube and tune special. Upon receiving this coupon, I called the company to schedule this service and the woman I spoke with was super friendly and helpful. On the day of the service, which I scheduled for 10am-12pm, the company called me and informed me that they were running behind because of a big job that got sprung upon them. They said it was looking more like 2pm-4pm. That timeframe actually worked out better for me, so there was no issue there and I appreciated the communication. At about 2pm Jonah arrived and right from the get go, it seemed to be a sales pitch. Having worked in sales, I recognized his tactics...every time I asked a question he would try to sell me on something and he employed the ABC's very well (Always Be Closing). Upon completing his inspection, Jonah informed me that the spring system I had (torque master) wasn't the best because everything is enclosed in a tube and if one thing goes bad, the whole system has to be replaced. He recommended that I replace the system with a torsion system and quoted me a little over $1,000 for it. He also showed me a scale that read the door was at 16 pounds when slightly lifted and he said that this was the spring system beginning to fail as it was over 10 pounds, which means the garage opener was having to work harder. I thought $1,000 for a spring conversion was a little outrageous and Jonah said he'd talk to his manager on the price. Suddenly $1,000 became $900 and they stated they were going to throw in upgraded rollers with that price. Jonah made it sound like that a one year service plan would be included but then mentioned something about being charged $10.75/month or $129/year for their membership. He really tried to push the membership, stating that instead of a 5 year parts warranty and a 90-day labor warranty I would be getting lifetime warranties on both. The catch is that you have to keep paying the $10.75/month or the $129/year to keep these warranties intact. The membership also offered a 10% discount on anything purchased through them, which is likely marked up more than the 10%. After discussion we were able to agree on $800 for the spring conversion with the rollers but upon further discussion, this did not include the membership, so I'd have to pay an additional $10.75/month or $129/year for that, bringing the total up to $929. I did not see the benefit in their membership pricing, which at this point in the conversation was being aggressively pushed on me. I did a quick cost benefit analysis and based on what Jonah told me, most springs last 5-7 years (I think this was grossly conservative because my boyfriend lived in his home for 20 years and never had to replace the springs) but if we go with Jonah's figures, after 7 years, that means I would've paid $903 in membership fees for basically nothing...it would be cheaper to not have the membership and just pay for a new spring replacement in 7 years rather than pay monthly for something I may never use. The garage opener motor we have works fine and everything is working fine. We opted to not have Jonah/Iconic do the work and Jonah left with somewhat of an attitude, basically scolding me that their membership works like how every other membership works. I felt this was more of a sales call rather than a service call. Jonah did perform the lube and tune (though there was not much tuning) and I paid the $29.95 and he sped away after payment was completed. He was clearly pissed that he didn't sell me and tried last ditch sales tactics before he left, "This is a today only deal that we're giving you and if you call us back, we won't be able to honor this and I guarantee you, you won't find anything better than this..." and "Any other company is going to have more expensive memberships and ours is the best and most affordable..." After he left I obtained several other quotes and five out of six were cheaper than Iconic and offered better warranties and better membership plans. I'm not really interested in a membership...especially since everything is working fine at the moments. I won't be calling this company to do any work in the future based on the attitude of their technician aka salesman and their pricing. They advertise in ValPak and I've noticed that companies that do this entice customers with cheap specials and then try to sell them a bill of goods when they arrive. I didn't find this company to be all that honest. They also slapped a sticker on our garage door opener, which I didn't really appreciate and I'll peel off. read more

They had trouble getting one of the doors to seamlessly open and shut, but worked tirelessly to figure out how to correct it. They stayed till 8 PM to resolve the issue. The customer service was great, but we called them to help us with an app and to help us hook up my vehicle to the garage door opener. That was it. I guess it is company policy to run tests before they can work on the doors. I understand that. The guy told me the reason why my app wasn't working is because the door was too heavy. He told me my other garage door will go out soon too. He told me I needed to change the springs. That's fine. Whatever... He quoted us at $432.00 a door plus labor. He took apart the door and then told me I needed to change bearings on my door. WE JUST BOUGHT THESE GARAGE DOORS THIS YEAR. So once he was finished, one door was $843 and the other was $650. NOT WHAT WE WERE QUOTED IN THE BEGINNING. THEN GUESS WHAT? He LEAVES without fixing the initial issue I asked him to fix. I told him ALL WE WANTED WAS FOR THE GARAGE DOOR TO LIFT AND LINK TO THE APP. He left after charging us all that money and didn't fix the ONLY REASON why we called them out there in the first place. I stayed outside for 2.5 hours AFTER he left to fix the issue we called him there to fix. MyQ told us that the reason why my garage door wasn't lifting was we had to reset it. I called the company and let them know my concerns and they sent someone out a week later to hook up my car, but overall TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!! We got screwed. read more

In September Iconic workers arrived the next morning after my garage door crashed shut and the 6 month old garage door opener couldn't lift it. (The original provider wouldn't even answer my call.) Iconic's charges for all the repairs necessary were very reasonable. Jonah Wahlberg warned me that the rollers were also wearing out and would need to be replaced in the future. I joined their membership plan because my older garage needs a lot of service and I would quickly break even on the deal. My garage door opener will now be serviced once a year as it should have been. Oct. 30th Jonah and his assistant arrived right on time to replace the rollers. They worked quickly and charged a few dollars less than their original quote. The two men were polite and friendly on both occasions. I highly recommend Iconic. read more

I was looking for a garage door company to help set up my garage doors myQ app after recently switching internet providers. I clearly stated what I wanted to be done. We were later quoted 432.00 per door mind you Home Depot installed brand new doors last year. I told my wife $432 per door was fine. As soon as the technician started to work the upselling began. He tried to sell us a brand new door immediately and started arguing with my wife all on the ring camera. At one point he told her the bolt $157 dollars. By the time he got done we were looking at 843.00 for one door and 650.00 for the other for a total of $1,493.00. I couldn't believe a simple call to hook up the new WiFi and myQ so I could open my garage door would cost that much. It gets better because when the technician left he wouldn't even fix the issue with the myQ the whole reason why he was supposed to be there and told her to call myQ to set up. He left and an hour later the garage door wouldn't open so I called the shop back and they sent him back. I couldn't believe how loose everything was and he when he came back he had to retighten loose bolts. There was no craftsmanship. When I tried to ask about getting a different door opener because now it's so loud you can hear it from our bedroom over 100' away the technician told me they don't sell those and the one wanted broke down a lot. With his work I could see why that might happen. My wife called the office the next day and they did at least send out another technician who was way better. He was professional and that's who should have come out the first time. However it's frustrating as a customer when the next technician is wondering why so much extra work unnecessary work was done. All in all avoid this company if you are not looking to get ripped off. To go from $432 to $843 and $632 is insane. Don't be like us and lose $1493.00. I received a flyer in the ads... I called because the garage was alittle stiff and I didn't want my car to get stuck inside. Made an appointment and sure enough one of the major parts had cracked. My tech was wonderful!... They came out within a day... on time!Polite, professional and provided all of my options. I chose to have all parts replaced and now I have a totally new garage door... I gave Iconic a chance due to their insanely high 5-star rating on google and their proximity to my location. I called on Monday 5/1/23 and set up a 4-6pm appointment window. I waited around all evening and it turned out to be a no call no show. I called but just got their 24hr call center and left a message regarding the poor experience. I got a call next morning from Darlene (I think, maybe Darlena) apologizing profusely about how the service order never got submitted. Fine. Honest mistake, we're all human. I rescheduled for Tuesday 5/2/23 from 4-6pm. Guy came out and I told him of the problem. My Liftmaster 888LM control panel was on the fritz and it probably needed replaced. I let him do his complimentary inspection and thats where things went south quickly. He told me my motherboard in the overhead unit was toast after attempting to use a few other model numbers of Liftmaster control panels. I said ok what are my options. He proceeded to give me only 3 options for a new garage door opener. They were approximately $1000, $1200 and $1400. He also said my springs were "weak" and needed replacement of both springs, bearings and cables. Approximately another $1200. Then he wanted to replace the bulkhead where the garage door attaches to the house above the door itself, because of a hairline crack in the wood. I am unaware if that was going to cost extra or if it was included because by that time I'd heard enough. I thanked him for his time and got a second opinion. I had Quick Response garage doors replace my single car garage opener back in 2021 for $400. I called them today Wednesday 5/3 and had Bryan come out. I told him the same story about my control panel attached to the house being on the fritz. My model was an 888LM. He tried the newer model 889LM and it works fine. I am unsure of what models Iconic used to test with. The only one I remember him saying was an 882LM. The technician told me he hadn't been with the company long, so I'm inclined to believe he may have not known what he was doing. Had he tried an 889LM I wouldn't be writing this review. He was a better salesman than a technician. I bought the new control panel with Quick Response and paid for the service call and was done in less than 30 minutes. Bryan also took a look at my springs and they are fine. When detached the garage holds it own when half open. At this point I can only believe this company deliberately attempts to upsell their products on basic service calls. I would avoid this company at all cost. On New Year's Eve the springs to my garage door snapped, it being the holiday I didn't expect anyone to be open so I waited until New Year's Day to attempt to schedule an appointment. I requested a quote right here on Yelp and within 3 minutes I got a message from the Office offering a same day appointment, I of course accepted. Bill was my technician and he arrived 30 minutes early which was amazing! He throughly explained what was going on and what the cost would be before he even started. Bill came out and gave us a free quote for our garage door. Our garage door wasn't working with the remotes. Turns out the motherboard was failing, cost for repair wouldn't make sense, he quoted me three different options, and was very honest through the entire time. Do not use this company. They came out and charged me $488 for ONE SINGLE torsion spring replacement. Their own website says it should be $40-60, plus labor to replace a spring. Additionally, all over the internet you will see that this job should cost no more than $250. After the fact, I called three other REPUTABLE, highly rated by Google and Yelp companies, and the highest I was quoted was $250. When I spoke with the owner, he said his website was wrong and then suggested that the other quotes I had gotten were from meth addicts. What a ridiculous statement. Life is hard enough these days.
