We called Ultimate Towing & Recovery, and the dispatcher estimated the tow back to Concord, NC would be around $500. We agreed, and a driver arrived within about an hour. That's when things went downhill. Tire Damage During Tow. As the driver began transporting our truck, a rear tire on our box truck blew out. All the tires were in good condition with no visible wear or prior issues. We don't know if the damage was due to how the truck was mounted or road conditions, but the timing was suspicious. Unfinished Disassembly. The tow truck driver said he needed to disconnect something underneath our truck to tow it properly. We trusted his judgment--but when we got the truck back, those parts were never reconnected. Now the vehicle won't start, and pieces are left hanging. New Visible Damage. When the truck was finally dropped off--about 7 hours after the initial call--it was leaning to one side from the blown tire and had new body damage that did not exist before. We have timestamped photos showing the condition of the truck before and after the tow. Shocking $1,600 Bill. We were blindsided with a final charge of $1,600, triple what we were quoted. When we questioned the amount, we were told if we didn't pay immediately, our truck would be impounded. We had no choice but to come up with the money under pressure. No Accountability. We contacted Ultimate Towing & Recovery right away and provided photos of the damage. Their response? "Give us your lawyer's number." We're now out $1,600 and stuck with a damaged truck that no longer runs. This experience has severely impacted our small business, and we're extremely disappointed by the lack of professionalism and care. If the company decides to make this right, they have our contact info--but until then, we can't recommend them to anyone who values honesty, accountability, or the safety of their vehicle.

Had a flat tire while in my Enterprise rental car on the way from NY to SC. Found out the hard way…read morethat my Mitsubishi Outlander doesn't even have a spare. Called Enterprise roadside assistance, and they informed me that the closest branch was closed (which I expected since it was 8 at night). BUT, since there was a branch open 55 mi away at the airport, that they would have the car towed and an Uber to pick me up from the gas station and take me to the airport... at 9 at night. So they dispatched the tow truck and sent me a link to request an Uber. The confirmation message said the tow company would be arriving in 90min. Chuck called less than 5 min after I received the confirmation and made sure we were safe. He stated he'd be to us in 15 min. He was there in 10. So... Suprise, there weren't any Uber drivers at 9pm on a Tues wanting to make a 110 mi round trip to take us to Greensboro airport. So I called back roadside after Uber timed out "looking for drivers". Then they tried Lift... no luck. Mind you about an hour has passed by this point. Then they tell me they've dispatched another tow truck to pick up a car at the airport and bring it to me. This will "only be about an 80 min wait, sir," as the Enterprise rep tells me not to worry. Well, I called back after 30 min to ask for the name of the tow company bringing me my replacement car so I could get an ETA as Chuck had been waiting for over an hour in this parking lot with me and my feonce. When I finally got someone to try to look it up, they informed me that the second tow company hadn't actually even been dispatched yet. Chuck refused to let us stay in the lot and towed us to a motel on his own dime. He went above and beyond staying with us and ensuring that we wouldn't get stranded despite Enterprise completely dropping the ball. I highly recommend this company not just for their professionalism and ability but also for the owner's upstanding morals and willingness to do the right thing.
