First time trying rolled ice cream, and yep it's ice cream! There's a fair amount of variety because they use an ice cream base and just mix in the ingredients that gives each one its flavor. Once they finish making the ice cream they give you as many toppings as you want which is a plus. The ice cream itself isn't anything special. The gimmick of the ice cream being rolled doesn't add anything to the texture or taste of the ice cream. One cup costs about 8 dollars so its pretty overpriced. I personally wouldn't wait more than 20 minutes to get an ice cream here, especially since they only have 3 people making an ice cream at a time and each individual ice cream definitely takes a bit of work. Overall, the experience is pretty novel. Give it a try if the line isn't too long and you've never tried rolled ice cream! Probably would not come back though if I was craving dessert. read more

The ice cream they have are really equip! It is the first time that I know the ice cream could be a roll form and It is so good to have it at summer. I had the strawberry flavor and it was delicious: they used the real strawberry on it and it is refreshing. Their manager is really nice too: he explained what each different flavors specifically. It gets really crowded here. And why not!? It's rolled up ice cream! If you're patient, to me it's worth the wait. You get a lot of ice cream. I LOVE DESSERT. and I always have room for it even if I've already had a full meal. Let's be real it's not the most amazing ice cream I've ever had but it's decent. And it's definitely a lot more spacious than all the other rolled up ice cream joints I've been to. The register area is prettty crammed though (because of its placement). This place calls up your name and pretty much makes the ice cream right in front of you. Which kind of makes me feel special since their somewhat personalizing it. Anywho, it's a good place to try out if you're in the area. Just be ready to wait at least 15-20 minutes. read more

Went in on a busy Friday night. There was a decent size line, as other's have mentioned because of how they make the item it can be a very slow moving line. Looking at how they were preparing the item I didn't have any problems with the wait time since I knew it took longer than your average dessert spot so I was prepared to wait a good amount of time. It was very cramped inside and extremely stuffy. I'm not sure if their air conditioner went out or if it is always like this but there was a large black fan pointing directly at the customers who were lined up and it was very loud. On top of that there was loud music blaring from the speakers so it was extremely hard to hear anything. I understand having music for ambiance but the music was so loud it drowned out any ability to have a normal conversation. As the people in front of us were helped I noticed confusion from the patrons as to where they were supposed to go after paying for the item. There are several "stations" where they roll the ice cream on the cold plates. The problem was the person who takes the order writes the info on the cup and passes it along but there is no instruction from there as to where you are supposed to go next. The cold plate station that takes you is variable as to whichever worker is ready at the time, so you don't know where your item is going to be prepared so communication from the Icicles staff is critical in this scenario especially when there are so many people in there. Most patrons just shuffled to the side and stood cramped on the side of the store. While waiting I noticed at least 3 other patrons having communication issues with the people making their items because the music and fan were so loud they couldn't hear. I noticed that the group that had paid right in front of me was being served so I just stood near the window so I could figure out which station I would be helped at. A young caucasian guy blurted out what I thought to be my name so I stepped up to his station. I wanted to confirm I had the right order so I yelled out my name AND the item I had ordered. He shook his head as if he confirmed and proceeded to prepare the item. After he scraped up the item and put it in the cup he asked what toppings I wanted. I proceeded to tell him what toppings I wanted and then the lady from the group in front of me told him she thought that was her item. It turned out even though I verbally confirmed my name AND item the guy continued making it thinking it was mine. By then it already had my toppings on it so they couldn't give it to the other patron. The guy then looks at me like it was my fault. Seriously?? There were tons of people in line and I usually don't like to be the complainer so I took the wrong item instead of what I wanted. To his minor credit he did ask me if I wanted another one but the look on his face was more of being upset that he would have to remake it then apologetic so I said I'll just take what he made and suggested to him and the other staff members out loud that they should really turn down the music because communication is key with their setup and judging by how many people I saw having trouble hearing them it was pretty obvious they were having issues. All three people I said it to looked at me, made a glance to each other and looked down and went back to what they were doing completely ignoring my suggestion. So yeah, really disappointed in the service. As other's on YELP have mentioned they have a mostly young staff, they look like they are probably recent high school grads or around that age group. All the "scrapers" looked stressed out physically and didn't see a single one smile. As for the item itself I'm glad I tried it just to see what it was like. It's not bad but not exceptional at the same time. If it was the same price as a premium Ice Cream place like Cold Stone I may have tried it again but the price is exorbitant for what its worth. Definitely would not pay almost 10 bucks for this again. Also with the "scrapers" leaning over the item in the manner that they do they should probably wear hair nets and such to reduce the likelihood of stuff falling into the food. Would also be worried about sweat falling onto the item but not sure what you could do about that except watch closely so it doesn't happen to your item. read more

The first and only prompt that appears when inserting your debit/ credit card asks how much you want to tip, giving you the following 3 options: 10% 15% Other ......da hell? To me, that means I have to try extra harder to not look like a dick for not tipping by having to press more than one button. On top of that, the cashier is standing there and waiting for you to finish. I'm not saying the cashier saw my tip choice, but the screen/ prompt is definitely visible from the cashier's end. Love the fact that the ice cream is freshly made in front of your eyes! Kids especially love the experience! The cereal killer with fruity pebbles was such a delicious surprise.
